It ran much better upon the 2nd start - less mechanical noise. That Buhrer engine had been sitting for years with the cylinder full of water, and heavy rusting of the major parts. An absolute credit to the guys that decided to undertake such a mammoth task. I will never understand the 200 people who give this a thumbs down! Always nice to see the old stuff brought back from the dead...... Greetings from Australia.
You did a fine job. When I saw the inside of the injection pump, I have to say you had your work cut out for you there. That and the starter. Great results!
Absolutely excellent craftsmanship on the rebuild! Sounds almost as beautiful as it looks! Don’t know how you got the #3 valves to seat but they work now! Congratulations on giving her a new lease on life!
It is the original engine! In 1946 Vevey builded 100 tractors with Buhrer engine. All these tractors were exported to France. Buhrer didnt want these tractors to be sold in Zwitserland.
Anyone who has ever heard a Buhrer run would recognize that unique rattletrap sound no matter where they were. What I want to know is where the heck did they find the parts to rebuild that engine at? my husband has one of the very few that made it to America and is in the process of rebuilding it, he's having troubles finding parts.
There are Some Old stock parts available at the Buhrer factory Hinwil Switzerland. Got there Some gaskets and valves. The rest is machined by myself @work. Still very busy to get the rest of the tractor complete.
Gut gemacht!
The second start sounded alot better than the first. Sounded like it was going to throw a rod or bearing on the first start. Guess it was a timing issue?
