It runs! It stops, it starts! Pretty soon its gonna be driving, but I am just up here enjoying the sweet sweet harmony of that inline 6 diesel!

Hell yea! That was the plan and making it look factory was the challenge. Can you imagine if Cummins had partnered with GM?

Congratulations! Its such a sweet sound to hear the 12 valve come to life! I got to hear that same sweet sound earlier today got mine back together after attempting to re time it so nice to have it running again! Started on it last night was planning on being done last night well that plan did not work out 3rd time around I won lol

I was honestly surprised how smooth and quiet it was when idling. Found it’s idle immediately and was totally smooth.

Really cool burb! I'm building an 89 currently. I'm thinking of going with the GM 383 HT crate engine. These 383 HTs have been noted for there amazing fuel economy in a heavier vehicle and have some torque. I love the 6 BT cummins and have a 92 1st gen that I drive everyday.

Congrats. About being hesitant on first start up, I understand everything you said. One of the reasons I’d be nervous is like you said you have many projects going to build a truck. I don’t want to find out I have a rod knocking if I have 20 other unfinished things to do and now have to pull a motor. As your getting close to finished and see the end even a blown motor can keep you motivated instead of getting discouraged and stepping away from the project possibly for a long time.

Yes that’s the challenge. At this point you are so tired it’s like seeing a false summit over and over again. The wrong input on the case was one of those moments.

Be mindful of swapping from gas to diesel with the stock gm gas fuel tank. The g as version is coated and the diesel will eat the coating and contamination of the fuel system will occur. The diesel tanks are different and have to be specifically ordered unless you go with polyethylene plastic tank(s).

I do bitch a lot about his videos, but I tell you what, they are excellent. He's informative and knowledgeable from his hands-on experience building his blazer. I've followed this build from two of my other accounts and on Instagram and it's exactly what I want to do to my suburban. The attention to detail can't even be found in a majority of shops in the country let alone the world. Highly recommend watching his other videos. P.S. I am watching this video on my T.V. as I comment on my phone. Outstanding job and look forward to the test drive and trip videos. P.P.S. I hate your videos

You should have deleted the fuel shut off solenoid and went with a mechanical shut-off... I generally use a choke cable to shut the engine off on mechanical diesel engines. After all you said the whole idea behind this build was to keep it simple and 100% fully mechanical.

Yea it will probably get replaced and I know these things are notorious for going bad but it is still a really simple device

Absolutely agree with this. It will only serve to make the burb more dependable and at some point when the fuel shut off solenoid goes out he's going to want to do this anyway. May as well just complete the build 100% right from the get go. Furthermore if some slacker tries to steal this burb it's one more item they can't figure to get it started

You know I discovered that I don’t really need it. I need to fab up a spring retainer or something but shouldn’t be too tough. Elbow is doing decent but incision from surgery is still healing…
