After maybe 20 or so years, I've decided to pick-up sewing once again. I can't thank you enough b/c I purchased fabric, but once I arrived home, I couldn't figure out which was 44 or 45" or 60". Your video was on point! Thank you! Thank you!
Very classy video and presentation. I love your beautiful dress, which I am fairly confident you sewed yourself, because you can't find things like that in the store.
Thank you for a great tutorial, haven't sewn for a long time so I needed to re-fresh my memory. You did a great job explaining everything and I am dying to try out one of those new rotary cutters. Thanks for getting me all excited about sewing.
I appreciated this! I've been looking at other videos but this was the most understandable and helpful! I'm completely new to sewing and I know none of the basics. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing and "Darling" is the perfect name for your style. I will check out your videos and website too for more sewing tips. Have limited knowledge but am very techie who loves the journey of learning. Many blessings to you. Nice ladies like you make the world a better place :)
Hello and thank you. This was so well explained and so very useful. You relieved a big chunk of the stress regarding cutting fabric for garments on a self-healing cutting mat. Again thank you. Oh and yes, what a lovely sewing room you have.
i know Im randomly asking but does any of you know of a method to log back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost the login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me
@Tommy Gerald Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Thanks I enjoy the video I’m trying to learn how to sow to custom make my own welding caps Thanks again now I know the tools and what to buy to make quality caps
Farhat, I was in my local Hancock Fabrics tonight and they have green rotary cutting mats (I think Olaf brand - something like that) - they probably also have them online, also Joann's has them. WalMart has grey and orange (I think Fiskars brand). Just happen to have been looking lately. Haven't committed to buying one just yet.
Darling Adventures, If you could give your opinion on what's the best Rotary Cutting mat and why, or whether you think they're mostly the same and brand doesn't matter it would be really helpful. Thanks
Thank you. I just ironed and layer ou 1yd of fabric and it’s wonky Can I just take the end piece and rip there before I continue to cut the actual yard will that fix the wonkyness I am a beginner🙋🏼♀️
That would work. Another option is to do the method I cover at about the 4:30 mark - line up the fold and then use a ruler to cut off the entire wonky edge. Good luck!
hi! i am having problems cutting a handshape out of my 4 way stretch fabric. i got very jagged cuts. Do you have any advice or tips in cutting 4 way stretch fabric?
oh boy. i just bought 3 yds of fabric for a head wrap and it is at least 60 inches in width. I want it down to 20 inches in width but I do not have a rotary cutter. what if i just spread out and cut with a regular ruler, it might take a while but if the line isn't perfect i wont see it anyway since it will be tucked around my head.
You are misleading people by suggesting they wash their fabric before using. This is a matter of personal choice and millions of us don’t prewash! You need to fix this video so as not to portray your instruction as necessary.
katherine wong she’s is correct. You should prewash any fabric that is going be used as clothing, blankets, quilts, etc. Any fabric that will be used for wall hangings, decorative home pieces (pillows, placemats, table runners, etc) wouldn't be prewashed. Especially you’re sewing two i pieces of different fabric together- they can shrink at a different rate your item is bunched up or looks off. She is correct.
I know that cotton absolutely has to be pre washed if it's something you're going to wear bc it shrinks. I don't know who the millions of people are but I've never heard of anyone not pre washing cotton.
