@@LiamKaplan Nah, the whiteboys are so good, Pete just skips getting his feet up. He just floats them into the crack. (Not hating on the WB, they're amazing climbers, just calling the notion ridiculous that he did the crux...)
Seeing Stefano struggle with this really puts into perspective how difficult the route is, something which was hard to see just by looking at Adam Ondra's final attempts and send of the route.
I think what’s really cool about this is seeing how the best climbers in the world believe in themselves. I think if a lot of us got on a hard route and struggled this much we’d give up and say it’s out of our pay grade.
You're right, but that doesn't necesseraly means that we are wrong to do this. We don't have the same amount of time to dedicate to climbing as amateurs (at least, most of us).Stefano Ghisolfi seems to be planning staying there for a whole month. That's maybe 20 or 25 days of climbing, an amount of session i usually do in about 4 to 6 months. And he's not planning to send ! Giving up on a hard route that you feel could take you 20 or 30 sessions to do in order to go on easier ones that you'll send in 10 sessions or less is generaly better for long term improvement.
@@Ptitviaud1337 I completely agree. I think it’s just a nice thing to keep in mind the next time we get on a hard route, that the pros flail on their projects too. It’s rare to see the first steps of projecting for a pro.
So excited to see your process!! thank you for sharing it with all of us!! It's not often we see the first steps of projects. I think there's a pressure sometimes with RU-vid/films to have this one little story that ends in a perfect send, but this is rarely what happens when we take on difficult challenges. It's extremely refreshing to see, and I can't wait to follow along 💞
My motto is: "if it doesn't feel impossible at first, it's not a project." You just need to find the least amout of impossible! Incredible that for you it's the hardest route in the world. Grande Ste, ti seguiamo sempre!
Super excited to watch someone else work through Silence. I really admire the mindset Stefano is coming to this project with, I get the sense I'm going to learn a lot about the mental aspect of projecting from this series. Excited to see more!
So hyped for this. And actually nice to see how you actually work on a route like this. The idea of working on something where you start with this little success and things to go off of gives a new perspective on what it takes and projecting in general!
"Iam giving up my flash attempt" .. "First i look for an alternative, then ill try the easier way" (from Adam)... Stefano you are truely the funniest pro climber i know :D
Really nice insight into what mindset and training it takes to climb Silence 9c, honestly. Seeing a climber that has multiple 9b+'s on the counter try something move by move and having some struggles is humbling, I'll try to incorporate that mindset for when I'm struggling on my routes.
Alé Ste! Bellissimo poter seguire un progetto fin dai primi passi in parete. E sappiamo che ce l'hai! Come on Ste! It's so beautiful to follow your Silence project since the first steps. E we know you can do it!
The way you are documenting this is perfect!!!! This series of videos might become some of the best climbing content period. Discussing betas, the thought process, attempts... Very good Looking forward to Thursdays now :)
I love your perspective and your light heartedness. Its really nice to see you trying this thing and I really appreciate how peaceful you are with the process. Inspiring.
I do like it when a climber is happy to show just how hard a route is. This is demonstrated by the comment "I am destroyed". Just awesome and didn't look like there is an easy move anywhere on the climb.
Watching your patience and slow but steady plan even on day one is really inspiring and speaks much to your success. So keen to see a second send whenever it happens!!!
Grandissimo Stefano ! ....
Thank you for that video. It's really cool to watch how you attempt this route. I think you have the perfect mindset for this. I wish you a good time in Norway!
Lol at the very ending.....hang around for it, folks :) Forget the new Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones series - this is the one to watch! Very best of luck, Sir.
So cool to see Silence from these new perspectives and angles and with sb else on it than Adam! Such an iconic route, now when I rewatch Adam's send I can appreciate the crux sequences even more. Coool and great job Stefano! keep pushing!"
I feel 100% confident that Silence will never be downgraded. It _might_ be upgraded though, in another 5 or 10 years when a few more top climbers have actually done it...
