I own a set of the wizard 90s (which I have affixed to an old old pair of Chris Haffey remz, with "pro-tongue" liners from intuition), and while I can't really get the hang of the maneuver-wizardry, it's nice to own a small niche-piece of rollerblading innovation... perhaps one day I will invest in a stiffer, more comfy/responsive boot that doesn't pinch my toes to smithereens... It's really cool to see these small skate companies still pushing the creative envelope, we've certainly come a long way since the days of non-ufs, and bolt-on wheels : ) beautiful skate setup by the way, enjoy them : )
Thanks man, it's been truly amazing the more and more I skate them. I would say that those 90's would be great in most aggressive setups because of the low ride height and easy maneuverability. Just keep at it and you'll be killing it soon!
I've owned remz and the response can be floppy on old ones, even if U get some cheap plastic shell you might get noticeable response, keep going either way 👍🏾
Congrats on getting a full wizard setup! Nothing like it! If you want an interesting add on, put on a FR Carbon Cuff. Makes the whole skate feel unibody.
I have been skating the Rockin 580s and Roka 4100s for the last 8 weeks about,am so keen on these advanced wizards now but I think I need to hold back and make the most of what I have for the next year or so ( also have one 84 and one 90 endless sets of frames 😂)
Hey Cam, I'm getting into inline skating and have found your videos to be unfathomably helpful. I have pretty severe generalized and OCD Anxiety, as well as depression. I used to get out and longboard a lot, my mental health has kept me indoors much more than I'd like, and my physical health is declining due to it. I'm trying to push myself to learn to inline skate so I can have a healthy hobby again. But for some reason I can never motivate myself to go out and practice. It feels so embarrassing to be tired and look like a beginner in my neighborhood, and be so scared to fall. It's almost like I need therapy just to do things I enjoy again...
I'm so glad these videos have been of help! Man, I need to put out more material showcasing how awkward I often still look on blades - nothing wrong with it; what really matters is you are letting yourself have fun for you. The fear of falling and failure can definitely be a barrier at first as well, but just keep at it and it will get much less freaky over time. The bottom line is it's amazing you are just doing what you can to get out there and skate! It can certainly be hard to do when working with depression and anxiety, but even 15 min of blading is great if you feel energy is hard to come by on a given day. Just keep at it man! The more you lean into that discomfort and let go of expectation, even a little at a time, the easier things will get.
@@CamGoodTimes I really appreciate all of this! A video talking about struggles you recall while learning might also be helpful to people like myself who feel like we are struggling more than usual. I think seeing videos of people learning quickly or "first time inline skating" when they have decades of ice skating under their belt can be misleading and discouraging.
That's a great idea, and thank you for the feedback! I'm so happy to be of support as well! I completely agree, it's much better when the genuine process of learning is shown.
To have these wizard advanced frames is my dream. I started practicing wizard moves about a year ago but i live in Brazil and there's no place selling these here. In fact, people don't even know Wizard skating is a thing. I do my best to learn and practice with my Endless 4x84mm but i suspect a 5 wheel set up would make things easier. Unfortunately nowhere in my country sell these. Do you have any ideas or sugestions how could i get one of these? Tks man and keep up the good work.
Thanks! I think the main way to get frames over there would be through mail, but I am unsure how expensive shipping would be. Endless and NN skates both make great 5 wheel frames, and I would say that the NN dragon+ frames are fairly close to the Wizard advanced but are much less expensive. Here are some websites that may ship to Brazil from the US: oakcityskate.com/products/wizard-advanced-frames usa.shop-task.com/products/wizard-advanced-frame nnskates.com/product/dragonplus/
I rock the NR100s on my Pat Ridders, absolutely cracked setup. But once I get my hands on the adv or PR80s, highly considering seeking out the full wizard boot setup, sounds incredible!
Hey thanks! It's feeling somewhat similar to turning on my NN 5x80, but maybe a slightly less swively when turning on a deep carve. Overall, I am loving them though! Super versatile.
That was just the recommended size that the Wizard skating guys gave me after telling them my foot size in CM. They are amazing at really dialing in the right fit.
FR1 are definitely more comfortable and have a little more arch support. The carbons give more stiffness and control as a trade-off, which is still great for doing very precise wizard moves.
I'm interested in learning about your experience as well if you buy them. They look like a great option, with the difference mainly being those smaller front and back wheels. I'm unsure how much of a difference in ride height or heel/toe presses they would have.
You think they fit well now... Wait till the felt in the skate and the outer skin break in and really form to you foot. Took me about 30 hours and i just gets better and better r
Also, i just had a first session in mine, and i agree they don't feel like skis totally. But the have that feel of the dual radius side cut of skis. When your center weighted it's a tighter turning radius but shift your weight to the front or back and the change in wheel spacing kinda widens out the carve and feels a little more stable. Where on the 5x80 it feels more consistent. I really like the advanced right off the bat.
@@Matthewdoesstuff that's a good point, it definitely is similar in that way. That also seems to make it feel quite stable while still keeping great maneuverability compared to other frames.
Hey, do you know your feet length in cm ? I'm interested in buying the new wizard boot size 40 (performance fit) and my feet are 26.5cm. Thanks in advance !
I have the same length foot. The 40 should work great. You should also message wizard skating to verify, as they will want to know the width of your feet to make sure it will work with the 40 size
Thanks for answering, my feet are 11cm wide and they recommended me the size 40. It's a lot of money to put so I just wanted to double check (sorry for the delayed response, I don't use notifications) @@CamGoodTimes
@@borakret5341 That's great! @nnskates actually has a retailer in Brunei, so that may be the best way for you to get some of their frames. Check out communityforbrunei.com/store/inline-skate/ I have been an affiliate with NN for the past year or so, doing reviews on a couple of their frames so far. They are extremely well made and fun frames.
Actually I was told it is best to try Inlinex in Singapore as they ship all over SE Asia. Here is the link to that: www.inlinex.com.sg/products/nn-ufs-dragon-ws-frames?_pos=1&_psq=nn&_ss=e&_v=1.0
