Looks like the Italians are back. And that makes me a very happy boy indeed...! Same goes for the French, they also seem to have found their footing and that is a wonderful thing.
Awesome video. Ever since I watched Hoonigan's video where they use their Fiat 124 Abarth to compete in hillclimb events, I've became more interested about the car and started to watch testing videos. This is one of them. That anti-lag sound is crazy...
Oh wow - simply stunning. The car looks great with that hard top roof instead of the fabric hood - and without the silly red bits of trim. I really hope the hard top is sold for this model - because this will be my next car if it is.

You know...the Mazdaspeed MX-5 is waaay overdue. You never know. For whatever reason though, I see them taking the 1.5L and dressing it up with a turbo instead of using the CX-9 power plant. That'll probably be saved for the 3 or 6 respectively.

I'm sure i'm better informed than you. Mazda has not enough money to develop a whole new MX5 by themself. so they made an agreement with Fiat (alfa Romeo) to develop and produce a new spider together. at the last moment Fiat decided it would not be an Alfa Romeo spider becuase it would be to much competition for the 4C which is much more expensive. from that point they decided to make a Fiat and Abarth Spider. That's also the reason the MX5 was released so much earlier. I have regular contact with Roberto Giolito so don't tell me how it's gone. and don't call me a fanboy anymore cause you insult me when you say stupid things like that.
Well i think Mazda has the biggest influence on this platform. It's very like the old MX5. But yeah, this Fiat looks fantastic and fun to drive. I want one!!

That engine sounded violent: explosions, growls and farts. Fiat Chrysler should adopt it. They should get rid of the crap engines they still use and just use the many awesome engine options they have.
Most of the specs have been shared in March, you have to look for the abarth media site and check the press release. Som details may have been changed frome the reveal to the shakedown, but most of the available data are there.
Luca Rally No. It is actually a Miata. Not "similar". There are some very slight differences, but this is not a bespoke car from Fiat, it is literally a Miata, as in that's what the Fiat 124 is built on.
