I respect the attention to detail Spoon has with everything. The patience it takes to do things cleanly and not rush to get it done is something to aspire to have
I just love how he still has the Irish culture humour, " Ringss ladddd 🤙" hahha, Love from Ireland Jimmy 🇮🇪 Hopefully you see the true Irish car culture in December, proper felt spec 😎
A little tip for Spoon when it comes to Aluminum welding. Rund 30/70 Helium/Argon mix. makes the weldpool alot hotter, less need for preheat and amperage :)
Everyone thinks Spoon is a great welder expect for Spoon, think that is the sign of a true perfectionist. I was going to say I am glad Spoon talked you into the changes to the E36, but let's face it he pretty much told you what he was going to do. Glad you let him and I know you are glad too.
Hey Jimmy(and Spoon) If you guys go to a place that sells car audio stuff, you can pick up a Bass boost port. They kinda look like a big funnel, and they come inn all sizes.. And they work amazing to build your own Headlight/intake for proper cold air intake. It looks really good also if you glue it in the headlight in a proper way.
@@shannacollins4741 aren't they made to provide air for just one cylinder in a engine? Seems kinda tiny to provide air for a complete engine with 6 cylinders. I dont know how much a velocity stack costs, but i guess a bass boost port is much cheaper, And you can easily find them in a bunch of different sizes and length.
@@supertedogpriken a velocity stack is what you put on the outside of a turbo to suck air in and no they aint expensive and no they dont provide air to one cylinder you put them on the port of the turbo to suck air they have nothing to do with the cylinders ! Have you ever seen Sonic203s drag civic he has one on the front of one of his cars! Check it out !
E36 just keeps getting better and better, attention to detail is on point. Also the air duct threw the headlight would just be perfect, also to seal it off somehow so it doesn't get condensation inside the one light he does have
You should mount a vent over the downpipe in the hood to let the heat out and install the brake bias valve inside the cabin so you can adjust it on the fly. Most serious racecars have it done like this.
I think it would be a cool idea to rig up some sort of easy hydration system for Jimmy, something like a camelback mounted to the back of the roll cage or something like that
This team is FIRE JIMMY!!!! It's absolutely awesome to see some as capable as spoon there to help every day. And you didn't lose any of your quality handing the camera and editing to Austin. MAKE A TEMPLATE OF THE FEED TUBE FOR THE TURBO FROM CARDBOARD AND THEN FIND SOMEONE TO 3D PRINT IT FOR YOU
Little tip with the stainless steel zip ties, use a needle nose, pull the excess, and twist as you go. Get it snug with the tip of the pliers. Once you got it snug, here’s the magic trick to getting them to not come out, give the locking mechanism a little love tap with anything that resembles a hammer! 5 years and mine haven’t come undone
Jimmy, if you have Spoon make a little plastic trim piece under the new 3rd brake light, and make it tight up against the rear window, it will block the majority of the light in the back of the cabin. You will be able to see much easier!
Ha ha, I totally, did NOT get the joke at first, I was just happy about it was not just electronic computer generated music,… buut found out ( I´m to old for those sites I guess? 🤔😋)
the car looks so good and sounds like a beast with that bmw engine, usually around here we put extra crankcase ventilation ontop of the valvecover when going e85.
The vibration issue with the upgraded guibos is usually because you're supposed to only run them with solid (or at the very least, very hard urethane) engine/trans/diff/subframe/center bearing mounts. They dont have a lot of flex in them so they really dont like it when any part of the drivetrain can move independently. Most of the places that sell you those guibos will say as much.
For that headlight buy some black abs plastic tube from Amazon make sure you strengthen that headlight and insure you sucking in air! Heat gun will help you bend it.
Have you done the livery design yet? Let Spoon put a flared inlet in the headlight to the turbo and have him at least put a screen in it. Don’t imagine that any loose bits from making door marks would do it a lot of good. Got new internals for your turbo in your spares kit? It’s just glorious looking for now.
I was going to say that a headlight cut out and turbo guard were needed. I like the attention to detail Spoon brings to this channel. Everything has been elevated and it’s great to watch.
Only up and up from here! I remember when you bought this car and I didnt even know you could import them. Youve taught me a lot Jimmy, never stop dude you been grinding for like 6 years straight on YT and the progress is mindblowing, you built an empire. Still have your sticker+signature on my LS Z sticker in my car.
For the Guibo. a lot of people break them, but the M3 guibo (e36/46, same on e34 m5's as well. partnr: 26112226527) is the cheat code. if you regularly wear those out, something else is wrong. A oem guibe also acts like a shock dampener for the drivetrain, and it's cheaper and easer to change a guibo than an axel or gearbox.
So glad Spoon convinced Jimmy to cut it up. It really is a new car now, and it rips. Not to mention it looks so god damn clean! Jimmy and Spoon killed it, but what’s new?
You better get you some practice in with that RHD Jimmy since your about to go back to Ireland ! And the RHD will help you when driving over in Japan also if you ever decide to go drive at Ebisu or Nikko Circuit with Adam and Sam !
There is a difference between compressor inlet temperature and IAT measured at the sensor in the intake plenum. Even if you bring the IAT up/down 10 deg at the turbo inlet, by the time it’s compressed and intercooled that temperature difference will shrink to a few degrees. Thats why after testing most people realize that it doesnt pay to chase the inlet temperature but rather concentrate on flow. Even if moving a high flowing intake (less flow restriction) to a much more heated spot, the gain in flow are exponentially better for performance than the loss due to temperature.
Jimmy use some OEM style heat shields, they work really good at heat protection and they look better than just a piece of sheet metal! Also the e36 looks sooo damn good!
Yo fr the levelling up this channel has seen is a testament to Jimmy's hardwork. Good to see you thriving Jimmy. Seeing all the homies eat off this YT thing shows the calibre of man you are. S/o to Oakes garage gang. Stay up homies 🤟🏾
I have no idea about BMW motors but this thing sounds on point 👌 crisp throttle response and smooth Rev 👌 loven what cha doing crew !!! Keep up the great work 💪
Loving how this car build has come so far in so little time and how prefect/Sexy it looks and sounds but still more yummy surprises to come. Jimmy & Spoon Tricks of the trade to get the fiberglass wrapping for the exhaust/dump pipe "Tight!" is to use a oil filter remove tool/strap! 👍❤
Gotta say it, RJ and the team kill it on the merch game. Only crew I have never had a missing order or late shipment (and that gear is coming a long way to aus). Well done lads!
The E36 looks sick as hell. The headlight intake would look so sick with a little pipe filling the hole like a hellcat headlight, even if it’s not attached to the turbo
Absolutely fricking killing it! But pleeeeease seal the headlight! Love the cut headlight, but you know it's gonna look poopy as soon as some crud or water gets in there
