What is Greg Jennings talking about the jaguars went 2-14 with Trevor Lawrence before they got Doug pederson Kirk Evan engram zay jones oluokon and others and they still barely won only 9 games once
They are opposites yet similar. They are similar in that both aren't as good as many people think. Lawrence is overrated because he was a #1 pick and has all the measurables. Purdy is overrated because he plays in a Dream Situation where half his Offense is essentially All Pros combined with 1 of the 2 Best Offensive minds in the league.
Yes , but it matters what TEAM you are on..... if Justin fields had purdys stats he still be a bear and have an mvp also.... BUT FIELDS WR WERE TRASH SAVE DJ MOORE..... See the diff, if you put t law or Justin fields on the 49ers( they actually had a chance to get fields but they chose trey lance....) the 49ers would be super bowl champs if not back to back... That's the diff, if purdy was on the bears he would not be in the nfl rigjt now, or at very best a back up..... That is the facts my friend, Situation Help Coach def MATTERS in the nfl.... The whole point is purdys team is so good no one cares about his numbers when tou pass 5 yards behind the line to CMC and he takes it 70 yards to the house.... That gives the qb a td and 70 yards but he didn't do shit, CMC did all the work. That's the problem
@@aaronclay4665dude just stay quiet on your piss poor criticism of Purdy. I myself had been stating since Purdy was in college he was highly underrated. And no Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields would not be Super Bowl champs if they were the QB of the 49ers because neither of them have the anticipation or timing that Purdy has to hit their receivers both look for an open receiver and then throw it hard and fast. Purdy literally throws the ball before his receivers even are open because he knows they will be open by the time the ball gets to them. Stop hating because you can’t accept the fact that almost everyone missed on Purdy.
Nick does not hate Allen, he hates that he is being called the best quarterback when there is someone better than him and the fact that every year his team is Super Bowl favourite with nothing to show.
Nick reacts to over hyping, i.e. Allen, Purdy, Jackson. Those are all good QBs but they are not great. Trevor isn't either, but he has tremendous potential yet.
He knows that when they both retire and Mahomes is a legend and Lawrence is alright in hindsight he’ll be able to say I was always a Mahomes fan but I never said Trevor was a bust
@williammccabe2895 LOL. Trevor turning out as anything less that the Prince to Pat's Kingship is a bust. Nick's fault... He can't wiggle out of this one.😁
Anyone remember Harry Potter & the Uncle & Aunt who hated Harry but coddled their kid Dudley like he could do no wrong? Reminds me a lot of the way Nick talks about Trevor lol
@@mandelburns3242 You forgot to mention that he lost 9 fumbles that year. He's been mediocre his whole NFL career (69 total TD's and 60 turnovers). People think higher of him only because he was supposed to be "generational".
@@pat_mazurek you also forgot to mention Josh Allen has the most turnovers in the league also and he managed to still get paid regardless what you say TLaw was playing good ball before the injury he deserves to get paid regardless what you’re saying the fumbles isn’t a big issue better line play will fix that and him just learning how to just take the sack instead of trying to always make a play who do that sound like??? oh yeah Josh Allen keep that in mind when you’re talking about TLaw buddy both players get their selves in trouble when they try to make plays
@@pat_mazurek His career consists of a bad stretch with Urban, an elite to good stretch from the second half of 2022 to the first half of 2023, and then another bad stretch after getting injured. If you average out his entire career stats he looks mediocre, but that doesn't mean his play was mediocre throughout his entire career, he has had a sustained period of excellence where he went 15-5 with a middle-of-the-road (at best) supporting cast and bad stretches before and after. It isn't unreasonable to think he can return to that excellence after recovering from his injury, and perhaps with a better supporting cast.
I live in Jacksonville and have watched the Jaguars for YEARS, including most of Trevor's Games since hes arrived. Hes a GOOD Quarterback, but has not shown Elite as of yet. Pay him, but dont let it past the mid 50's.
I like in jville to. The man needs a gd offensive line. That simple, run game isnt a threat and trevor has no time in the pocket. Not 1 qb would be “great” with that
I like Lawrence but so far his play hasn't always matched his talent. I had the Jags doing a lot better than they did last year, it was a pretty disappointing 2023.
Trevor wasn’t playing well before he got hurt and they won the game he missed, so that missed game didn’t decrease their Playoff chances. Trevor has had half a season of great football, when you’re paid that much, it’s not to “not be the problem” it’s to be the solution which he hasn’t been.
@@JAMEZSP117 you're missing the forest for the trees. Manning was the best QB in the league arguably with the best numbers at the time, even when he was losing. When tf has EITHER of these been Lawrence ? If anything, Josh Allen moreso fits this description
@@JAMEZSP117 bro Peyton manning finished 2nd in mvp voting his second year. He threw for 4000+ yards every year his first 5😂 Trevor Lawrence doesn’t even belong in conversation with Matt Ryan. Stop it
As a Tua realist, Nick uses these arguments for Trevor but not for Tua. All of them except wildes, who actually watches Tua. Belicheks defense couldn't stop Tua from winning once. Is mahimes 5 and 0 against belichek?
Greg is right about how the expectations have changed. 9-8 was a massive disappointment last year. I think he'll improve just needs to stop fumbling so much.
Josh Allen got hurt two seasons ago and the Bills went from number one seed to so-so. I didn’t hear the same kind of energy from Nick Wright about that injury. But he likes the Prince so…
Yep and goff was awesome last year. Leading the team to a 12-5 record with better stats than Trev. Thinking that Goff's year last year was just mildly better than Trevor's in 2022 is insane
Trevor defenders are still missing the point...Based on what you've seen - you want to give him 55M today?? Why?? If he's as good as you say then he should easily get 60M next year...
As someone that had Tevor Lawrence as there Fantasy QB i can tell with Certainty that Trevor wasn’t in the “mist of great year” even before the the injury he was playing terrible and yes I did watch the Jaguars games because I had to because I wanted to see my fantasy QB give me some points and o boy he was awful especially after Christian Kirk got injured. Brock Purdy being the last pick has out played Trevor Lawrence the 1st pick in every stat possible.
So daks about to get $60+ mil a year, kirk gets 3 major contracts, Kyler gets max deal, but Trevor who had a horrible coach and rebuilding team get paid? Nfl makes absolutely no sense.
Shore up these offensive lines first before paying QBs these days all that money. That way you get a better productive sample size and the position stays healthier.
Nick just be lying he's two years older then CJ and he goes they missed the playoffs by a game and Trevor missed one but conveniently didn't mention they won that game
If Justin sherbert get a contract Trevor Lawrence definitely gets his I went to the games Trevor was winning until he got hurt in the Cincinnati game Chris broussard is a hater
The last 3/4 years nick hyped up the most touted qb prospect in every draft acts like he scoured the tape and sees something nobody else did even tho baker Caleb and Trevor were expected to go 1st by everyone than gives hella excuses and high school resumes when their underwhelming and y is Greg Jennings talking I’m not listening to nobody who thinks Danielle Jones is a top 10 qb
Jags fan here. Trevor Lawrence has NOT been good. 2 bad years and 1 half a decent season is nowhere near enough for me to pay him $200M. Nick gives so many excuses to Lawrence that it's laughable. That playoff win vs the Chargers should not be a badge of honor for trevor because he was the one who put the Jags in a 4TD deficit due to 4 INTs in the first half...
Trevor is borderline bust. Even if you want to use the injury as an excuse, I think he had like 12 tds/6 ints before his injury when they were 8-3 or 7-2 or whatever their win/loss record at the time. That stat is bad no matter how you try to explain it.
He had 19 total TDs before the injury 15 passing, 4 rushing. From Week 9 of 22 to week 13 last year (when his second injury of 4 last year happend) he had a top 5 grade according to PFF thats 21 games of being in the top 5. Obviously PFF is not the end all be all but I would argue it shows he's far from being a bust.
4:54 The Jags one a playoff game win was because the Chargers D choked and Staley's lack of leadership to regroup the team showed up. The first half T Law played one of the worst games of football, with 3 INTs in 30 mins! And then Joey Bosa's personal foul in the last 2 mins handed the win to the Jags. Against any other team other than the team known for "Chargering", the game was over at half.
21 TD’s in 17 games? So he’s averaging less than 1 1/2 touchdowns a game lol? The guy is shit and these pundits can’t tell me otherwise. Both Nick and Greg are pure slander
If we aren’t giving Lawrence an excuse of being injured, fine. I’m not giving purdy the excuse of being injured in the nfc championship game. He went back in the game and played with a broken elbow. No excuses
The important question is, can they do better? No? Give TLaw the new contract. Simple as that. If you can't do better, you retain your best players. Emotion out of it.
I don't buy it from Doug. Just say he's not good enough to get the bag yet lol. That's what it is. He's not elite. He was hyped up like he was supposed to be Mahomes, but he's closer to a Baker Mayfield tbh
@@real-timerami5041 how ? He has 1 playoff win where it clearly wasn't because of him just like Baker does. That's a more comparable resume to Baker than Mahomes
Brou doesn’t watch sports he watches stat sheets and box scores. Nick gets frustrated because he actually watches the games. Trevor isn’t the problem, he’s a good qb with a bad supporting cast.
Jacksonville had invested way more into Trevor and he underachieved. People only recently started praising the players around Goff who developed with his help. Stop the 🧢🧢🧢
Also the Lions were soooo much better than the 2022 Jags hahaha. And Goff played better. Honeslty if it wasn't for Gibbs fumble and the defence Goff is in the SB once again
Brou Brou Brou… I think he is being a tad unfair to Trevor. Brou always talks about playing through injury. “If you can play then you should play”. But you can’t acknowledge players injuries and then not expect their play to diminish. Brou is being a tad unfair. If a player plays through injury then you have to give room for their play to diminish 🤷🏾♂️
Nick’s take on Trevor Lawrence is in make-believe land But when it comes down to Josh Allen Nick’s says he’s over rated and a horrible QB because he loses to Kansas City and Patrick Mahomes doesn’t everybody lose to Patrick Mahomes😂😂 Josh is miles ahead of Trevor 🐴 😂😂
