As a Chiefs fan I don't take anything for granted. I'm sure people thought Aikman and the cowboys were going to win a couple more Super bowl bowls. Ad they never got close again.
Yea. I'm with u. After have Thigpen and Palko and Croyle at QB I cherish these days. Never thought we would get one in my lifetime but having 3 is dope. as a fan I'm satisfied.
@@jakebarnes1950correct Mahomes is not Aikman, and it's unfair to compare them for two major reasons. Not because of sbs both have 3. But 1, the eras were different qbs got their shit knocked out of them back then. And 2 this is the big one, but Jimmy Johnson was fired after back to back superbowl wins, and the cowboys were never the same, they won the superbowl 2 years later but we're never as good as they were under Jimmy. Now imagine after this last superbowl Andy Reid was told to pack his bags??? Would mahomes be the same guy? I don't think so.
Mahomes doesn't need anyone he makes players around him better. Like peyton n tom. Pat will probably be best qb or accomplished player to play the game
You all act like Chiefs have no plans for when Kelce retires. He has already been slowing down recently, but uses his experience and quick wit to continue to dominate. The Chiefs will be just fine without him like they were just fine without Tyreek.
@@Pingo21this isn’t golf or tennis, head to head means nothing in football it’s a team sport QBs play against defenses not each other and it’s not just about total rings it’s about how you got those rings, accolades, stats and eye test and records, and mahomes is on pace to win them all but if he wins 3 straight and 4 total in 6 years as a starter it’s a wrap if he finishes with the stats and accolades even if he has 3 less total rings
@@sd012082 It will be in 7 years, not 6, if Mahomes actually 3peet. In his 7th year Brady finally got a real superstar receiver (like Hill). With that he became the first QB ever to win 18 straight games in the span of one season (Dolphins only won 17), first QB to throw 50 TDs (before the pass happy rules of today), led the highest scoring team of all time up until that year (only ever beat by the 2013 Broncos) and, were a helmet catch away from being the QB of the greatest team of all time (and the undisputed goat against Montana years before he was recognized as it). Speaking of which, Brady had to overcome the whole “Montana never lost a SB”, how the hell is Mahomes just skipping that level, he’s not even past Montana yet 😉 Brady took over a 5 and 14 team, while Mahomes took over a playoff team with Hill and Kelcey already there 😉 Brady where close to threepeeting not once but twice in the span between 2014 and 2018 🤷♂️ It’s hard but good luck. Craziest stat about Brady is that he never started 3 seasons without playing in a Superbowl 🤯
hypothetically speaking, if Kelce retires after this upcoming season and Mahomes never wins another SB, that has no bearing on his place in NFL history nor the perception of him as a player. up to this point he has already shown and proven from an individual standpoint how ridiculously great he is. winning without Kelce is not mandatory nor will it prove anything or takeaway from anything
Absouletely correct. I get so tired of people saying, If Mahomes is so great, he will have to win without Andy Reid AND Travis Kelce send this just isn’t true. Tom Brady had Gronk for a majority of his career in New England and Tampa Bay but people want to try to diminish or penalize Mahomes for having Kelce. Kelce will retire one day, and honestly I wouldn’t even mind the Chiefs drafting his possible replacement in this years draft. But when Kelce retires, I think next up would be Noah Gray. He comes a full time starter he could blow up too. Overall, Mahomes has proven he can win without Tyreek Hill. That’s more than enough. If the Chiefs three repeat, I could see Travis Kelce retiring for sure though. We will see.
@@derekmathews1557 Gronk present for most of Brady’s career? Do you have any f…in idea how long Brady’s career was you guys. I mean both of you on the thread would do or say anything to justify someone’s legacy without having the shred of the beginning of what the other guy did for how long and with whom. If you want to do that could you at least document yourselves instead of making insipid comments. Just so you know Gronk was not even present for half of Brady’s career. While Kelce was there for every single year since the beginning . Just so we are clear Gronk went to 4 SB while Brady went to 10. Making comments like this shows how much bias and lack of knowledge you both have.
@@derekmathews1557I mean Brady won 4 super bowl’s wo Gronk including 2016 when Gronk his No1 weapon went down w a injury Mahomes is 0-1 lifetime with Kelce not on the field plus Mahomes has the best Head coach/DC combo in history in Reid and Spags for all 3
@@davis2k1234 , if you are going to at least say it, say it right. Patrick Mahomes is 2-1 all-time without Travis Kelce, not 0-1 all-time. Nice try though. Passer rating of 93.8, 768 yards, 5 TD, and 2 int. Seriously? You talking about Mahomes having the best head coach/DC combo in history when Brady had Belichick & Arians he had Romeo Crennel & Bruce Bowles he had Charlie Weis, hell I will even throw in Adam Vinateri too, and he’s easily one of the greatest kickers ever. Brady had plenty of help to win them 7 Super Bowls.
@@derekmathews1557 Your right he sat out Mahomes 1st start in 2017 for rest but since 2018 Kelce has missed 2 games total I was just pointing out Brady played more then his career pre Gronk and then Gronk was injured half the time/retired Mahomes has always had him as a safety net not saying Mahomes won’t win without him in the future And the coaches thing is over man Belichick couldn’t even get a job 32 teams just decided they have a better coach then him he is basically Spaguanlo wo Brady to carry him he’s a great DC and all those coordinators you named all were garbage without Brady also Andy Reid is a genius period the best coach of last 25 years and on his way to a actual goat case because he can win with any QB
Mahomes is obviously great! Phenomenal QB! But last year the Chiefs won the SB because they had the 2nd best defense in the NFL. Again, Mahomes has been an incredible player! But if they had a middle of the pack defense last year, they don’t even make the playoffs. The biggest question now is that Mahomes contract severely limits the Team from having great WRs. Huge respect for the Chiefs though! 3 SBs in 5 years is amazing!
If I had wings I could fly! Why don't you go through Brady and how many years his defense saved his butt. Football is a TEAM sport! Mahomes will always elevate the Chiefs but of course the Chiefs will have their ups and downs for dozens of reasons!
But they have a great defense because they sacrificed signing good players on offense. It was a calculus knowing they have Mahomes to carry the offense, so they can invest in D.....
It’s all about Andy’s health and staying young and mentally in shape oh yeah and Travis kelcey has to keep being the goat at tight end so yeah idk I’m rooting for him
Hate when ppl compare machines and Brady for the first few years. Brady also benefited by great coaching and a great defense. 1st 6 years we never even considered Brady top scorer 3 qbs during that time. Even the last few years of his career, we weren't even considering him the GOAT.
Mahomes won a Super Bowl hurt, maybe Joe needs to change his training regimen so he can learn to play hurt. By the way even as great as Mahomes is it is still the ultimate TEAM sport! Tell me Joe doesn't have, much much, better receivers than Mahomes has ever had over his entire career!
Respectfully the way defense is played in this new era is way different than the previous Goats. The question is would Pat have this much success in the old Grit the NFL used to have. Would Tom and Motanna have had equal or greater success in the current adjustments.
@@jayceh You really think the chiefs defense compare to Ray Lewis and Ravens ? Brian Urlacher and the Bears? Zach Thomas Jason Taylor and the Dolphins? The long list of Steelers Defenses? Ed Reed Ryan Clark Troy Polamalu? And theres a long list of Hall of Famers going back decades. This league is a joke and you think defensively the chiefs compare? You know why you can go for speed nowadays? Because no one gets hit. You're clearly too young to know anything besides current gen. You just have no insight on the sport. But go ahead be a "Fan".
@@John-hm5uc ray Lewis and Brian urlacher played with Tom Brady and Peyton Manning? Shit, I didn't know that, no. Manning was on the Steelers then? Also, Peyton and Tom had longevity playing against the defenses in that era so is Mahomes more brittle or less escapable than those 2?
Mahomes obviously and clearly has had the best start to an NFL career in the history of the game. arguing that is silly and cringe at this point. Also using Aaron rodgers' career as a reason that Pat can possibly go a decade without winning a Superbowl is just not good reasoning.
No it’s not. But I think looking deeper into Aaron Rodgers career is Patrick Mahomes career is the kind of career people expected from him. Somebody not so long ago told me Aaron Rodgers was a top 5 quarterback. I told him that’s not true because Aaron Rodgers couldn’t win in the postseason. If you want to be a top 5 quarterback, you got to be able to win in the postseason and Rodgers didnt do a good enough job there. Mahomes is Mr. Playoff King, Mr. Super Bowl. 15-3 in 18 playoff games is absolutely extraordinary. There is nobody in this league even close to that.
He can go a decade without winning one shits going great until it isn't. Look at Brady one moment you're 18-0, the next moment you're missing the season the next moment Randy Moss is washed and before you know it you haven't won a SB in 10 years. Given Mahomes is 2-0 since losing his best WR I don't think thats going to happen but its a reasonable argument. The NFL is known for parity and not being able to string acheivements together. Whose to say when Kelce retires Mahomes doesn't stop winning SBs? Also I think Mahomes is the GOAT already just saying.
@@commodorezero stop using other players as example. Especially brady. Using other careers makes no sense. All you need to tell the likliness of him going a decade without a superbowl is looking at what he has done so far. The dude is making afc chip every year, now he obviously wont make another 6 straight but based on that it is highly unlikely he doesnt win another 1 in the next 10 years. That sounds absurd
This is a horrible take..Imagine the narrative if Rodgers scored 13 in a Super Bowl and won by TWO scores…but Brady gets a pass for it. …. Rodgers made a poverty and outdated franchise thrive for 15 years
Nick Wright “He’s miles better then Brady was at this age” Meanwhile there stats in 3rd SB runs same age Brady 2004-28TDs 14INTs 3800Yds 92 QB rating 7.8YPA Mahomes 2023-27TDs 14INTs 4200YDs 92QB rating 6.9YPA
LOL! this isn"t a third grade report on whether USA or Russia would win in a war. Just keep pretending one year is the difference in being the best player! Look at the First 6 years as a starter for both players.
The dummest stat i have ever seen in my whole football life. Dude, do you even think before you post these comments? How can you just take a 3rd superbowl run regular season stats and compare them just like that 😂😂😂😂😂 who thought you mathematics? Who thought you stats in football?
@@jakebarnes1950oh my brother tell that dumb guy again. 😂😂😂😂😂 he posts comments like he doesn’t think. How can you make a point with 3rd year regular season runs. So mr davis why? While people are busy comparing the 6year starting career stats, you are busy comparing the 3rd superbowl regular season stats? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Once Kelce slows down, that’s when the chief will slow down. Then until they find a weapon to replace Kelce, mahomes isn’t gonna win another Super Bowl.
You don’t think that Noah Gray will be available to be the Chiefs next great TE? All he really needs is to become a full time starter. Hell they might already have a plan for replacing Travis Kelce and you making stupid statements like this. Once Kelce shows down, that’s when Chiefs slow down. Until they find a weapon to replace Kelce, Mahomes won’t win another Super Bowl. People said the same thing about Tyreek Hill, and Mahomes has won 2 without him. Tyreek Hill hasn’t won 1 single SB since he’s been in Miami, hasn’t been to a conference championship, hasn’t even won a division title. Once he was traded to Miami those days were done.
@@derekmathews1557 I don't think you understand that Kelce's presents alone can change your whole defense. I don't care who you have at QB, you will never win without a legit weapon so my statement is actually not stupid. And who the fuck is noah gray??? only cheif fans would know who that person is. And your point about reek, you can throw that out the window because Brady has already proven that you can win without a top rated WR.
@tylerholt6828 also im not talking about now which is obvious by my original comment lol i spoke about mahomes coming into a great team.If joe burrow, herbert, josh allen came into a team with andry reid, tyreek hill kelce and a great offensive line and a hall of fame defensive tackle then they would have at minimum 1 superbowl.Mahome is still the best qb in the league but if you gonna deny that he had great weapons when he came in unlike many qbs then its delusional.I dont believe in fanboyism and giving credit to a qb fir everything that happens when they win lol.Rodgers and mahomes are the greatest players at the position i have ever seen one dude never won enough and the other came into a team with 3 hall of fame players and 1 hall of fame all time great offensive coach 🤣🤣
Joe's cap hit is coming too so he better get it done this year or it's all uphill battles. This is the last year of his current window. They'll need a roster overhaul after this one.
@@Yos_888 they appear savvy because they've had a top 5 QB for $900k a year recently We'll see if they're savvy when there's a $50M QB cap hit. Based on their history... No.
@jayceh Na look at Germain Pratt and Logan Wilson contracts their two starting LBs, Geno Stone contract, and others. These aren't the same Bengals from the 90's and 2000's Bengals front office today is very good
Brady coming out of retirement, joining the panthers, punching the bully in the face (chiefs) in the SB, then retiring for a third time would forever end any GOAT discussions lol
And yet you don’t know that. You really don’t. If the Chiefs three peat this year, and Mahomes gets his 4th ring, he absolutely has a chance to win 6. Because honestly you can’t win 6 unless you get to at least 4.
@@jonsnipe5484 , lmmfao oh you silly person keep it up. Chiefs were doubted the whole entire season with a more vulnerable team. They were doubted in the postseason by people the likes of you. How did that work out, and oh that’s nice. No you just want Mahomes to get hurt which is really disturbing dude.
Seriously Mahomes already had a bad year, this year. He didn’t have his best year, 27 TDs, 14 ints, 4183 yards. The Chiefs went 11-6 you crazy person. They didn’t have one of those hotshot records like 12-5, 13-4, or 14-3. Even if Baltimore beats KC I doubt he would be devastated based on what KC has done as a NFL dynasty.
