As a KC fan, the conversation would be way less annoying if the Mahomes skeptics actually made some sort of claim, like "Mahomes didn't train hard enough. The dadbod is affecting his throws. He needs lasik. He's spending too much energy on parenting." Those would at least be interesting claims we could talk about. Instead, none of Mahomes' detractors offer anything. So if you're one of these people who is demanding that Chiefs fans acknowledge Mahomes' struggles this year, I just have to ask "What is your point?" And he has the 2 worst tackles in the NFL. It’s giving no time for routes to develop. Then the Chiefs also get everyone’s best shot. They are the team to beat. He’s changed the way defenses play, how teams make their roster, something no one has ever done. I truly believe Mahomes is the best NFL player to ever walk onto the field, he has so much control over the game and impacts it more than any other player ever has.

Just look at Mahomes' 4thQ numbers this year, they are outstanding. He's like a cat having fun playing with a trapped mouse until it's time to eat that mouse. We have seen it in all three of his Super Bowl victories and every game this year. When it's time to go win the game, Mahomes is as good as he ever was.
Mahomes has been great and he has been very pedestrian. Yes, both. He has been inaccurate with the deep ball and thrown some bad picks. He has also made great plays and come through when it counts. If this does not change, KC will probably not make the Super Bowl, but we all know that the real problem is the WR room. IF D Hop works out and JuJu comes back in a month, KC will be just fine They might even get Hollywood Brown back for the playoffs. Barring even more injuries, KC will be fine because Mahomes at his worst is still one of the best.

Mahomes is better off when he gets out of the pocket and scrambles for first downs. His passing game needs rhythm to thrive, so he needs receivers to be consistently open, and have no penalties or turn overs to kill drives. Pat will get this right and play his best in January and February. I truly believe that he knows what's up, and that Andy will make sure he gets better.

What about all the trailing runners (fat lazy lineman) from San Francisco whose “pursuit” slowed to a jog/fast walk…because Mahomes had passed them by a few yards. If those lazy lineman, don’t stop chasing Mahomes at full speed, they easily force Mahomes out of bounds. I’m sick of the long Mahomes run being blamed on the quarterback protection.
