I love how they have to throw in “aided by a Hail Mary” when giving his total yards. I know that if it were an INT, they would say 3 INTs and not mention that one of them was on a Hail Mary.
It’s only because Nick was putting Caleb as a top 5 QB before the season even started and had them going to the Super Bowl because of him. It’s fair game for someone to bring things to reality a little bit imo
So... Caleb wasn't all that at USC. He wasn't great in the trash Pac-12. What makes people think he's gonna all the sudden out of the blue be a great NFL QB. He's going to be an average to slightly above average QB in this league.
Honestly this was very spot on I was never high on Eberflus and now everyone is Chicago is very close to pushing the panic button. But this is more on Eberflus just not being the guy he hasn’t had a winning season. His record as a bears coach is horrible. Only thing he had going was defense but we are at a point where this is no longer enough to save your job. Smh so frustrating for us Bears fans.
Without the hail mary ( 42 yds ) still would have him throw for over 300 yards give him time. They also ran the ball 28 times if you can’t be effective with the run what do you want him to do? Pass the ball maybe these takes be wild catch me in week 8. This whole season is about progress him throwing for over 300 is a big deal for the bears last Guy ( JF ) still hasn’t thrown for as much
The Justin fields bit is absolutely not nonsense. Sure the team kept him as the starter because the best qb on the team. But the media killed him daily and fans soon turned on him. Caleb is going through the same bs. Horrible play calling and a horrible oline. Caleb has the benefit of a good defense. Something JF2 didn’t receive until the second half of last season.
That graphic was really stupid, tbh. It doesn't even show the number of pass attempts or their completion percentage, which is important. And what about rushing yards where Nix and Daniels both outclass Caleb?
1 lefleur has been there in Green Bay for how long? They have a system. They all know the system. Kudos to them. They can plug in a guy at QB, rely on the run game play good defense. Make the QB look good. Great for them. The bears aren’t the packers. The bears have a brand new system, a rookie QB, and are pretty much 1 dimensional right now. 2 the colts also know they can’t stop the run. Right, it’s like this isn’t forbidden knowledge. We could probably take a wild guess on what they worked on all week long in practice. How do we know that some of these run plays werent checked out of by Caleb once he saw 8 in the box? 3 he’s improved from week to week. Made some insane throws yesterday and was a reason the bears were even in the game. While I agree 56 pass plays (52 attempts) (4 sacks) is a little strong, reps for a young QB isn’t so much a bad thing, unless he’s starting to get beat up or lose his confidence. We saw last week he was beat up. This week as the game went on he got better. I’m not sure what they didn’t do to support Caleb. They got linemen, they got a new OC and like it or agree with it or not Waldron was one of the biggest names out there. They got weapons. They drafted Rome who led the FBS in receiving….. Lastly I hear all the time that his little college like play won’t work in the NFL but it’s funny cuz I see Mahomes able to do things he did in college. I watched PM a lot at TT. I see Kyler Murray doin the same thing. I see Lamar doing same thing he did in college. I see Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts able to do the same things…. But it won’t work for Caleb. Structure and timing takes time. It’s more likely for a rookie to rely on his skill set that got him to where he’s at then to become Tom Brady in the pocket year 1.
New OC, new QB, only 3 games, common! Every QB makes mistakes, rookie or not! Just Bears offense as a whole is not in sync, so they can’t bail QB out when they make mistakes. If you look every game in entire NFL, you rarely find a QB make every decision right in one game, they all misreads, mis-throws, making bad decisions, some less some more. But the team and other players bail them out many times. Right now, Bears offense is not doing that enough because they got a new OC with a new QB, new #3 WR as rookie, #2 is injured in the two losses, almost same OL as last year with a new average the best Center . Tell me in what bases people expect Bears to be in playoffs and should beat Texans and Colts on the road??? In what bases after 3 games they are already a failure? Why he threw to Allen 11 times in game one? Because of his route running ability, because he is always QB’s safety net to go to, because he is running short routes that QB can throw to with pressure and no time to throw!
Caleb had such high expectations on him, that he will never live up to any fans expectations, end of story! All I hear is “they said”. Quite frankly who cares what “they said”?! it just gives haters a platform to hate. Rookie QBs are going to have ups and downs. There’s no way to tell how the career plays out until it’s over! Let’s let these rookies play the season without lofty expectations and enjoy the ride.
It amazes me when people want to subtract/add yards because of YAC or Hail Marys. It’s laughable. Should we go back and look at every quarterback in NFL history to see how many yards they actually threw in the air without YAC? They don’t ask Kyle, they just ask how many.
@@Keithjhall I am not advocating we do that but simply pointing out stats and you can have two QBs passing 100 yards and find out one threw the ball 50 yards and one threw it 5 yards. That is why comparing them doesn't tell you a lot in my opinion. Or QB wins/loses when it's a team sport.
lol check my video history on them. I’ve been calling that for months! And I called this game as well. 😎 ESPN NFL LIVE | Jayden Daniels Is Set To BREAKOUT Vs Bengals On Monday Night Football ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NHaYOuqkRjU.html
So with 5:51 in the 4th with the Ball, Caleb played well in the 4th ive watched ALL-22 . There was no garbage time stat padding at ALL The young fellas made some questable throws which he will learn from. It takes time to learn a new system at least 12 months. He had to throw 52 times there was no RUN GAME which as a rookie you need a RUN GAME its the QB best friend
Finally someone who doesn’t follow the trend of putting rookie qb down, great analysis. People seem to forget that Jordan love was pretty bad the start of last season but no one was talking about it
11:07 idk, Caleb finally had a bomb of a throw. Keeping up the momentum passing the ball, I dont think was a bad idea there. Just a bad decision and sloppy throw by Caleb right after.
