it's not just a religious place... but a historic tooo... just beside...jaliya wala bagh is there... and i went many time there... Guru samne matha tekne ke liye...or sahido ko yaad krne ke liye.... temple me aapko anant shanti milti h.... sath hi jaliya wale bagh ke sahido ko yaad krke khun bhi kholta h.... someone noticed a very big celling fan at Amritsar railway station...

I have noticed few things, so I thought to mention those in comments and can be helpful for others. As we enter the golden temple from one of the four doors, we walk from left side to reach main area I.e. clockwise. Although, we can go in other direction also , not restricted at all. 2nd I thought we should all know the meaning of ^Sat Shri Akal^ salutation. Ur right definitely these temples beat the taj Mahal.. Iv been once n it's just a tomb.. Very highly recommended n on the tourist attractions.. But I found these temples especially the old ancient Hindu ones much more architecturally sublime n fascinating as they were filled with meaning especially sculptures.. India ought to include these temples in itinerary.. Most foreigners don't even know how stunning these temples are.. Definitely best places to visit in India

Taj Mahal is a building, built by a king, a symbol of human greed and pride. Whereas the Harmandar Sahib, Golden Temple is only religious sanctuary for all on the earth without regards to caste, color, religion and status.
