Good luck with the rest of your build. My dad is currently building in Jamaica as well, & he goes periodically to check on things. His side of the family is doing a majority of the work & overseeing it. He also put up cameras and watches it while he's away.
I have the same problem these workmen they want money and they will do nothing dem badmind I left my keys with my neighbour he did not look at my house for six long months and for him everywhere in the community he goes he first has to pass my house when you are abroad people don't like to see you success you can buy a cordless grass trimmer they are cheap and cut your place and not have to pay someone to do it when you are around
Get the cows off your property they cause ticks to be on your property. Just bought a piecec of land in St. Ann and find it well infested with ticks because of the cows that were on the property.
Keep up the good work. Admire your determination amist the trials. Was drawn to your project because we are building as well and can identify with all the negative situation you have faced there on the island. Seriously sad to know as a people we just can't trust our own. That I think is our biggest weakness. All the best all the way. Inspite of it all I'm sure you will finish strong. It truly is a beautiful property.
wouldn't be better to screen off the floor then use thin use thing set to set the tiles? it looks like a lot of build up going on just to get the the level, lots of wasted material.
Can’t wait for it to finish bro. It it’s looking fabulous already. Only a pity u can’t spend a year in Jamaica just to make sure ur thing get done the right and proper way and in a timely manner.
Aren't you tired of wasting your tiles, get a good tiler he should be plastering the tiles it self, he should be plastering the tiles also..good luck God bless you on your journey

You are goingbavoutbthevtulingbin the wrong way. You should dress the floor and get it level with sand and cement then after it’s level you tile. Thinset is expensive so to be using that much thinset is costly and when you mix it with sand it cement you are going to have tiles lifting up so make sure to keep a few extra cases of tiles for when they pop up to prevent you from having to redo the entire floor.

Mi know it rough a yard but u a inspire me now . Kinda confuse if I should build or buy . I got burn so many times by family n friends I don’t really trust anybody with money now . And I don’t want to Mortgage 😢… Jah Jah
I would say take ur time and build so u get what u want , I'm just like u I don't want no mortgage so I just have to fight it like how it is right now bless up 🙏

You are Jamaican and Canadian don't worry. Jamaicans who never traveled are trying to sound like us so why can't you who lived in Canada so long speak English. Everyone is adapting our dialect which makes me laugh to see how much they envy the way we talk so don't worry about it.
That's the life I love. I love seeing fruit trees and cows just all natural things that God created. I can sit and relax and just enjoy looking outside all day long at the green trees the plants the fruits. My parents are from Jamaica and I am trying to move there but I cannot find a land, many blessings to you. Anyone selling land please let me know I will give you my information 😅
The land call Jamaica is beautiful but you have to come to foreign to appreciate what you have because everything there you take for granted while in foreign things that you see fall of the trees are more than expensive anything name Jamaican is very expensive in the freezer
