I love ur 180sx/240sx with an authentic sr20det engine! I saw ur vid and see many homies struggle drifting ur car and it's totally normal (ur car is fine, nothing wrong with it). It's a common nature for 180sx to have such low end lag with an old turbo or s15 turbo, and it peaks very hard at 5-6k rpm, which make overall drifting very hard. 180sx in moderate modified form is not easy to drift. It needs tons of mods to be a easy/good drift car. However, there r 2 options to overcome this. Option 1, adapt ur driving techniques to the current 180sx level of mods. Hit the right rev range/speed at entry to carry the smooth drifting the whole way. If wrong entry speed, you'll either spin out or straighten out. 180sx/240sx stock gear ratio is long af. Hence, you can utilize 1st gear if needed at tight hairpins. You can entry 2nd gear and shift down to 1st gear. It may be hard at first, but once you get it you'll carry through smoothly or be very fast in drifting. There r many more drift techniques which can be applied to ur car. Good to refer to old school jdm vids how they drifted this car with minimum power and mods. Option 2, install new turbo (with supportive mods of course) and the stock final gear ratio. First, I would suggest you to modify the final gear ratio to 4.6. I swear you'll feel big difference in terms of less lag if you try this final drive. Install the new Garrett G25 or G28 which is known for very responsive turbo. Big upgrade from the old laggy s15 turbo. Hope this is helpful for you. Just trying to share something helpful for 180sx/240sx owners out there. Enjoy drifting! 🚗💨
S Chassis are notorious te be easy to drift with any engine especially with slightly modified SR's so i wouldn't really agree on what you are saying about SR low end power problem. I personally think that either is turbo is shot, he need a longer diff ratio or the tune is bad. I think it's a mix of the three but as you said this gear ratio definitly don't help
Get more seat time before trying to tandem cause when one person messes up as a lead run. The person behind doesn't know what to do in that situation has no outcome.
no not necessarily, Adam LZ's green s15 don't have such issues, neither did Randy when the s14 and s13 ran. I think it's a bad tune coupled with a tired turbo. As sonny said, previous owner beat the crap out of this engine so i would not be surprised if it's a bit lacking
yo check the knock sensor. when that goes bad it makes your car run slow af. if bad replace with a knock sensor or a resistor. that turbo is small and spools quick so I don't think it's the turbos fault. failed knock sensors on ka's and she's make the run slow af.
You legit only had this car for 2 weeks if that, before selling it to Randy???!? You couldn’t have put any more than like 1K miles on this Car that’s so sad 😞
hello sonny my name is rigoberto i have a acura rsx type and i have isues with the apm thotle body isues car i live in houston tx. i dont know anybody who work in car at here so anyone in houston areas good mecanic specially in hondas or acuras please let me know
Sonny, you need cams to correct your low end power and retune your S13. Fyi, your S15 should have had an oil change before you started drifting it. Second of all, you need Link Ecu or Haltec to remap the fuel for north america. Stop being so cheap in 2022.
Imagine not understanding that he is not rich as fuck and that you don't necessarily need a Link or Haltech nor cams to make your car run great (proof with Randy's s14 in the past)
@@polarbeaar3184 ... don't be stupid. The car is mapped for fuel in Japan and its not the same octaine level as North America. Everyone that wants to safely keep drive their cars from Japan must do this. FYI, Randy's GTR blew up because he's an idiot and switched to an upgraded turbo from another GTR without a tune. Then he started doing pulls without thinking. His GTR R32 is a disaster hence the reason why he bought another one. He knows he ruined that car.... also Randy's S14 is junk. Its just a matter of time until that blows up. Randy does everything half ass'd.
