Cemetery Skyline are without doubt the most beautiful emergence of 2024, and of course my most important new discovery of the entire year!⛧🖤☥🌙 Everyone who loves the more traditional and sombre side of Gothic Metal, Gothic Rock and Dark Rock will be entranced when listening to the new supergroup founded by Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity, The Halo Effect), Markus Vanhala (Insomnium, Omnium Gatherum, I Am The Night), Santeri Kallio (Amorphis), Victor Brandt (Dimmu Borgir, Witchery, ex-Entombed/Entombed A.D.) and Vesa Ranta (Sentenced, The Abbey), as these legends are not only exploring artistic spheres that are inherently different from what they're usually doing in their main bands and because they already blessed the world with some of the most memorable and enchanting choruses I've ever heard. The genre is certainly not for everyone - but those who are on the darker side of life, those who like to enjoy music being surrounded by candlelight and drinking a glass of red wine, will definitely understand the profound sentiments and the flawless beauty of a song like "Behind The Lie"! Cemetery Skyline instantly became one of my all-time-favourite bands and another centre of my life, despite not even having released the full album - but the full album "Nordic Gothic" will follow soon on October 11th! For a bunch of experienced and well-known guys like these it's definitely a courageous endeavour to start something entirely new, as there'll always be certain fanbases that might be critical of this step because it's not reminiscent of their actual bands, but I totally admire the attitude of just pulling it off no matter what people say and to bring back the Nordic melancholia so many of us love from the bottom of our hearts! Sweden and Finland are the two countries with the most people consciously and willingly living alone and choosing solitude, that's what Mikael told us in an interview, and that's the ambience "Nordic Gothic" is supposed to represent. I think "Behind The Lie" is a pretty good display of that, and I feel honoured to say that we're talking about one of the most spellbinding tracks of my lifetime.⛧🖤✨️🌙☥ Thank you for your entertaining and respectful reaction, Lee! I feel like Nordic Gothic is the genre of music I've been waiting for all my life! ❄️ Cemetery Skyline are amazing! 🖤 I love the atmosphere they create in all of their songs. ✨ My favourite song of theirs so far is "In Darkness" and I am so excited for the full album soon! 🦇🌙
