FIRST TIME Eating SEA URCHIN (Kina) 🇳🇿 Coastal Foraging in New Zealand 

Many people consider sea urchin to be a delicacy and here in New Zealand is no different. We foraged along the coast near Split Apple Rock in Tasman Bay for sea urchin (also known locally as kina) and I tried eating it for the very first time. The coastal foraging around New Zealand is dense with mussels, cockles, abalone (paua) and a tremendous amount of sea urchins.
