On actually has two music videos. This one is more cinematic and tells a story. The other one is On:Kinetic Manifesto and in my opinion it fits the song better.
If anyone doesn't understand the MV or thinks it doesn't "fit" then they are baby ARMY and don't don't know or understand the 'BU' yet. The storyline is magnificent & totally worth going down the rabbit hole. It's TRUE artistic genius.

All of them are so talented and good, they have distingue voices for sure. They have their styles and come together to make bops. The one you were impressed with is Jungkook, our talented youngest, he's an incredible singer and the main vocalists. You will see that they're all talented though and can wow you.
The live performance video I pretty awesome too. Love the one they did on Jimmy Fallon. The vocal line of bts is insane. JK'S voice is beautiful. Jimin also has an incredible range. When people gets into bts newly they think there is a Beyoncé in the group but honestly all of them are so talented in their own ways. At the end it just what you prefer or who you can assemble with the most . Take your time to get to know them in your way. They also have solo songs or songs with rap or vocal line. This was a great video! If there's one thing i can say about bts is that all members are incredibly talented, there are no one that is more special than the others or things like that. They all have solo and duo songs (there are also songs just from the vocal line and others from the rap line) that showcase better their talents, so I'm really looking foward to see you guys discover more about them! They were originally supposed to be a HIP-HOP group (they have underground rappers in their group) but their music includes all genres like R&B, hip-hop, pop and even rock music! You guys literally have just begun to witness their talents. There is a reason why they ARE the biggest boy band in the world. EVERY MEMBER of the group is EQUALLY important and fills in an equal and important role for the band and with just one missing, it shows but they are literally like FAMILY and BROTHERS and the relationship they have with their fans is unlike any other!! I also highly suggest checking their GUIDES on youtube that are posted by fans which give you more information on where they came from and their backgrounds and the discrimination they have faced since the beginning but they never gave up and HOW HARD they work!! I think you guys need to watch the live ON performance at Grand Central Station on the Jimmy Kimmel show so you know what kind of performers they are. The album Map of The Soul: 7 is based on Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung. It's a whole different world. Also, they all contribute to writing the lyrics and the production of their songs. Each of them have their own range vocally and rap. They're seriously talented and gifted artists who work hard and stay humble.

Next: BTS Tiny Desk Concert. You will hear their voices there. They sing with live band. (3 songs) Then I Recommend watching On Kinetic Manifesto (choreography video) to compare to this one. Then Black Swan for another genre. Then if you want to hear more of their singing voices, watch videos from the vocal line (4 out of 7 members) such as House of Cards live in concert. And to hear snippets of their different songs in their discography, watch BTS Festa 2021. You will see title of songs on bottom of screen and name of the album it is from. I also enjoyed their Proof Live performance (3 songs, one with Anderson Park as guest drummer) from Bangtan TV channel. Yes, their Coldplay cover was awesome from MTV unplugged show they did. I also liked their cover of Sting’s song, Every Breath You Take from BBC channel. Not all members knew how to sing and/or dance when they were recruited by their company. They went through extensive training to learn/improve their skills before they debuted in 2013. BTS members are the hardest working, kindest, most down to earth, and giving people. The saying goes that you find BTS when you need them the most. That is certainly true for me. They added something to my life that I sorely needed. Have fun going down the BTS rabbit hole.

There are a lot of dystopian worlds within this music video, very old fashioned styles. Also a lot of familiar symbols & references like: Noah’s Ark, Lion King (pride rock), Lord of the Files, and like you stated Game of Thrones. For this particular MV I don’t think there is an actual explanation to what it all means specifically but it does tie into a lot of things. (I’m gonna assume whoever requested ON probably meant the Kinetic Manifesto Film, this is basically the choreography version of ON. Kinetic Manifesto means: Moving declaration, which is a declaration of movements using body motions or instruments with sound & visuals to make one cohesive thing.)
I want to say something to everyone who has a problem with "If I was sixteen I would like them." If you wrote a comment that says something like "I'm 54 and blah blah blah" guess what? You need to be reminded of a very important FACT. Teenage girls are the reason any of us older people know about BTS. THEY are the ones who discovered them. So can EVERYONE stop acting like there is anything wrong with being a sixteen year old female music fan? Teenage girls are the people who discover almost everything that is considered cool years before the rest of us catch up to them. The response should not be "They have fans that are older so stop comparing us to teen girls". Okay, their music is very deep. It will probably take an hour to explain in detail what is happening in the MV and its entire prehistory 🙃😂. But I'll tell you briefly… This is the title track of their album map of the soul 7. The album became the second part of the Map of The Soul series. The first chapter of this story, in Map of the Soul: Persona, sang about peace and the joy of love, as well as revealing our own self - the one that we open to the world. In Map of The Soul: 7, the story turns to the inner shadow lurking within us and the frank recognition that it is also a part of ourselves. about song ON… RM: “The song is kind of a big diary of our last 7 years. Kind of like a shortened version of the BTS essence. It's about how we stumbled from time to time, but we got up.” Jungkook: “At the beginning the title of the track was not 'ON', we got together in a meeting and tried to decide what title track we wanted and what we wanted to call it. Since this is a reboot, we wanted to take our old song 'N.O.' and turn it into 'ON' so I just suggested the title and we really enjoyed talking about 'bring the pain on' we added it to the lyrics so we came up with the title track of the album. about the MV… there are two versions 1. the cinematic video with big references (which you have watched). 2. They also performed their all-English song butter at the American Music Awards. they were supposed to perform the version of butter they collared with Megan the stallion on but she had to pull out of the performance for personal reasons, so they did their group version. also won artist of the year at the American Music Awards plus two other awards something like best group and Best Song or album! The rap line is done collaborations with many US rappers! Ed Sheeran Rd two of their songs I'm pretty sure one that he wrote was the song celebrating the end of the pandemic called permission to dance. Do you remember years back the first K pop artist to be popular in Western countries PSY's song Gangnam Style? He was famous and performing around the world for a few years then he started his own record label he really recently had a comeback released a new album add music video produced by and featuring the rapper Suga of BTS. Every member of BTS are songwriters' composers' producers. They have written composed and produced songs for a lot of other artists! They also have a variety show called run BTS and annual specials about their travels and when they go on vacation call bon voyage and in the soup!

Just pace yourself and know that it's a whole freaking journey. For me, I initially wrote them off and gave my older sister crap for listening to them (I'm 44 now, 40 at the time). I was so wrong. It was their first appearance on Jimmy Fallon (interview and performances) that made me sit up and go "What did I just see? How could such nice, humble, and shy guys get up there and just do all THAT?"

Okay a couple of things, this is "on" but there is a "on - kinetic manifesto" this is the actual music video to the song the other is more like a dance practice of sorts. . BTS leader is RM - use to be Rap monster for obvious reasons and is now changed to REAL ME. He is not only the leader but also has an IQ of 148 and speaks fluent english from watching friends as he taught himself so the lyrics will be well mixed with korean/english when he writes or helps write songs.
