Dog Days are Over is my all time favourite song. You should hear her live. She sounds EXACTLY THE SAME. Florence and the Machine are a powerhouse

To me this is a pretty dark song. Abour falling head over heels with someone to the point of ignoring everyone else. Being pulled into the dark by the other person, then staying with the other person in the darkness, but then Florence is left there alone at the end. For future Florence I would recommend the Odyssey chapters (the full "movie" version as it has all the songs)

This song is actually the first one i've ever heard from them. I remember watching mtv and the video started...i was so moved i started crying by the first chorus! And after ran to the computer to search for the lyrics and the album. Never left since :D

I love this band....she is angelic and deep lyrics....all her songs are great and catchy.I saw this group perform on MTV music awards...never heard of them...and watching her live and deliver that powerful voice .....she is amazing!I wanted me amd my daughter to bond together with music that had depth....this one was perfect and she looooves her since she was 4 or 5yrs old....she is 10 now....I took my daughter to her first concert to see them live....she was so amazed!Her voice is so powerful in person!This band is one of those rare ones that you can listen to all their albums all the way through and enjoy every bit of it.Now our favorites groups are Flourence and Tool....took her to her first Tool concert fear inoculum tour😎She is one luck little girl🤣💜

Florence is the belting queen. She's got pipes for days and ain't shy about using them. She writes her own music and a lot of her lyrics are colorful, visceral, or metaphorical. She never comes right out and says something in plain terms. She might mention a ghost in the night coming to lay with her when she's alone, but is really talking about anxiety and depression rather than a physical spirit. Usually the meaning of her songs aren't difficult to grasp, but her word choice makes them interesting. Florence is an acquired taste and she isn't for everyone. She takes risks in crafting melodies and you can get lost in the random harp strings or odd beat changes. That's what this song was, primarily harp and drums, but watered down compared to many of her songs. Her music is powerful, sad, and epic at times, like something you'd hear in a movie score, but it's not really for casual listening. Even if you love her music, you have to be in the mood to listen to her or it's just too much noise. I have to be in a quiet, dark room alone and stuck in a certain kind of head space to truly appreciate Florence. Keep that in mind if you decide to move forward with her. I'd recommend anything from Ceremonials to start with. It's easier to swallow before jumping off the deep end with her. Once you get a feel for her music, you can delve into more current albums, because they become more and more experimental with each release. I would almost put Florence in the same category as Bjork but with better vocals. It can be frustrating to listen to at times and you're not going to fall in love with every song you hear from her, and that's coming from one of her fans.

Florence is known by her voice! She's not as mainstream as Gaga, Beyoncé or Katy, but she has some big hits like Dog days are over. She's amazing

I really like the instrumentation of the first two albums, harp and drums, made for a really special sound. And I also love the horns and trumpets of the later albums. Really distinctly sound that no other bands are doing.

Lungs is the first album and now the 4th one, High as Hope are sooooo different, yet so uniquely Florence. FATM songs are always a feast to enjoy and dive into :)
