@@scottmusgrave5735Floyd does not have as many elite songs as Zepp, not even close in fact. Also, by comparison, Zepp created such a diversity of songs in terms of their feel, composition and style. By the time Zepp had put out Physical Graffiti, they'd spawned the next 40 years of heavy metal, hair metal, hard rock, progressive rock, grunge and indie rock. Amoung them, Zepp directly spawned Floyd. Love Floyd but they pulled their sound directly from Zepp and the Beatles. They're a hybred. A delicious one, but deeply derivative none the less. Whereas Zepp, once they'd moved passed Rock Blues, were completely original. Cases and point, No Quarter, Battle of Evermore, Ramble On, What Is and What Should Never Be, the whole 3rd album except Since I've Been Loving You, the whole 4th Album, Houses of the Holy, and Physical Graffiti. And then they went waaaay out on the limb with Song Remains the Same, Achillies Last Stand, etc. Anyways, you get the point

Zeppelin IS my favorite band. They never put out a bad song, and Tool is following in their footsteps. They're huge footsteps to fill, but Tool does it admirably. Much like Tool, Zeppelin is comprised of four absolute masters - Jimmy Page, the absolute legendary lead guitarist, Robert Plant, the golden god of singers, John Paul Jones, the multi-instrumentalist with the amazing bass lines, and John Bonham, the thunder on the drums, who sadly died young, and destroyed the greatest rock-blues band the world had ever seen...or heard. You'd have trouble going wrong, diving into their discography - a few greats that have popped into my mind at the moment: Kashmir, an incredible trip of a song; Moby Dick (live), with possibly the greatest drum solo ever, and When the Levee Breaks, blues at its finest.

Jimmy Page was an influence on basically every guitarist to come after. I wouldn't be surprised if that included Adam Jones. Page may very well be the GOAT. This live clip was about maybe half of the song, and you should check out the studio recording. Other massive hits are Kashmir, Whole Lotta Love, Dazed and Confused, Since I've Been Loving You, Immigrant Song, When the Levee Breaks, In My Time of Dying, of course Stairway to Heaven, soooo many others that it's silly to even try to put into one sentence. @@dangusrangus "I mean do the Beatles really stand a chance against floyd ?" Subjectively, maybe not. Objectively, absolutely. Record sales, pioneering stadium concerts a decade before Floyd, influence on song writers, critical acclaim, the acclaim of other musicians, etc., etc., etc.... All objectively in the favor of the Beatles. And all in a recording career of less than 8 years. And subjectively, I've significantly preferred Floyd since my brother took me to see The Wall movie in the theatres at first release in the 80's.

@IRGeamer well floyd sold wayy more records and influenced more sounds and lyrics from musicians I think history is too kind to the Beatles. They really didn't influence much but they did get credit for it

Unfortunately you clicked a short teaser video. The concert song which features Jimmy Page's long solo is 12 minutes long. Here it is: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Y-qFipbA4Cw.html By this time in the tour, Plant's voice is largely shot. You might like to explore their albums from start to finish.

Yeah, this video was sadly very disappointing for cutting off most of the song. These people and the video reactor don’t even know what they’re missing. I had to scroll thru 50+ comments to find someone who even brought this up! Rob’s voice isn’t like it was in ‘68-71, but this is probably the best version of this song live, and one of Page’s best solos ever heard…and that includes their live bootlegs.

So many great Led Zeppelin songs if you want to go down the rabbit hole! "Whole Lotta Love", "Black Dog", "Stairway to Heaven" (I could go on and on) One of my favorites is their most recent performance of "Kashmir" live from Celebration Day (official video) Led Zeppelin formed in the late 60's & in many peoples views is the best rock band ever. There is no other singer like Robert Plant.

I love Tool and Led Zeppelin both. Just like Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Trying to compare these groups or musicians is like trying to compare Picasso and Michelangelo . There is no comparison they are all master artists. I’m glad you’re going to go down the Led Zeppelin road, because you will be amazed.

Led Zepplin is a deep dive into music history. One of my favorites is a song called the battle of evermore, but you can't go wrong with Stairway to Heaven, Kashmier or just about anything out of their library. Pink Floyd is also a band with amazing music.

No Quarter by Led Zeppelin came out in 1973. Tool released their cover of No Quarter in year 2000. Looks like Tool's guitarist was influenced by Led Zeps' lead guitarist Jimmy Page's playing style, which is not at all surprising because Jimmy Page was one of the greatest guitarists ever and he influenced huge numbers of guitar players in the next generation. It's wonderful how it's passed on. Led Zeppelin was a group of incredibly talented musicians and songwriters, heavily influenced by blues and jazz as well as incorporating rock 'n roll, spanish-style acoustic guitar and psychedelia. They made magic together on stage and improv'd and bounced off one another constantly when singing live. Add to that the lead singer Robert Plant's undeniable sex appeal and his incredible tone, vocal range and emotional qualities and they became one of the most successful groups of their era, selling over 300 million records. Every song is different. If you go down this rabbit hole you won't be sorry. You'll be constantly surprised and delighted. I highly recommend Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, Black Dog, Dazed and Confused, Since I've Been Lovin' You, Whole Lotta Love, That's The Way It Is just for starters. There are so many more gems. Welcome to world of Led Zep!! Subbed and liked today in the hope of seeing more LZ reactions.

We can all agree that Tool is amazing...and their rendition of "No Quarter" was a tribute and not just an outstanding cover. The fact that this song is 50 years old, blows my mind. I grew up with Zeppelin as it was happening and was even lucky enough to see them live in 77(still have the ticket stub) Hell, I remember buying this album at the record store when it was released.and hearing this song for the first time,... wearing Koss headphones, lying on the shag carpeted floor of my Dad's study...I was blown away! It's a shame this was an abbreviated version.
