The guitarist Chris DeGarmo wrote this song for his kid who had nightmares. The song is about lucid dreaming. Geoff Tate is the vocalist and has an amazing voice. Queensryche is one of my favorites and this is one of the reasons why.
Thank you. Geoff Tate wrote this after his daughter had a nightmare. I think it's one of the most beautiful songs ever and know it since it first came out on album. I sometimes still shed some tears when I hear it. If you're open minded to more experimental stuff, I reccommend 'I am I' from the same band. It's pronounced Queensreich, the ch pronounced as in Heinrich or index crach.
Chris De Garmo wrote this song. It was his litlle daughter who have nightmares,so he wrote the song for her. The orchestration was done by the late Michael Kamen
I saw these guys in the Tivoli in Buckley, N Wales last week. They played Operation Mindcrime in its entirety with only a minute break halfway through. The sound was unreal, and while he can't hit the highest notes, his power is still there. After OM, they played this, Empire and a load more. The best bit was, at least half the 500 crowd knew all the words all the way through. Despite having the best concept album of all time - second maybe to Dream Theatre and Scenes from a Memory, they are so underrated, and underappreciated.
It's a shame Geoff Tate isn't with them anymore. It has to be different now. Not in the good way. He has amazing pipes. If I feel like a cry I sometimes go here.😢 Thank you for letting me take this ride again.
I got told off my Todd LaTorre the other day on Facebook for commenting my opinion of his covers of older Queensryche songs. I mean, my opinion is a common one. He's just not at Geoff's level and wasn't classically trained, which is a requirement to sing those songs properly. Regardless, he was quite rude and I took great pleasure in blocking him. Lol.
