You can’t imagine what the Folklore album meant when it came out as a surprise in July 2020. I wasn’t even halfway through my 18 months of no work as a makeup artist and I remember weeks of sleepless nights listening to these songs while trying to complete an impossible puzzle 😂 Taylor’s words here made me feel like we were all in a similar boat.

This is a powerful song for OG Swifties because when she was cancelled by the public in early 2016 and we didn't see her until late 2017 besides once... We all thought she left. That the media drove her out... And this song was her saying, hey even in a global pandemic, I'm not going anywhere. I'm here and I'll be making music for you. Which she has, since 2019 she's dropped 7 albums and counting!

Unfortunately there isn't a music video for Mirrorball :( But I think you guys should react to the 6 songs in the acoustic section of the Eras Tour where she is playing either the guitar or the piano by herself and it's just her, the instrument, and the lyrics (and also 70+ thousand people in the stadium, but it is a testament to her talent how she can make it seem so intimate).

I find Taylor’s lyrics to be extremely visual. With every song I can picture it in my head, even when it’s a play on words. Or they take me back to different times and situations in my own life. Her skills at this are uncanny.

This is one of my favorite songs! So glad you did it. I’ve missed your Taylor reactions. This one came at a really good time. I’m home recovering in bed after having to go by ambulance and blue lights to hospital yesterday. I have several chronic illnesses and to me this song hits personally. I always “put it on” in front of other people. I never show others exactly how I’m feeling. Actually that’s why I ended up in the emergency department yesterday. I pushed myself to much and my body pushed back (big time) But, Having you and Taylor to watch and listen to will definitely ease some of the pain. Hope to see you back with yet another Taylor reaction soon!

I'm happy to hear that you've been doing research and still have a Taylor Swift list. The RU-vid algorithm is flooding you with k-pop fans, so it's completely reasonable for you to go in that direction. I'd almost given up on your reactions to Taylor Swift, so as many other videos kept popping up in my feed from HPR, my subscription almost experienced "death by a thousand cuts". ☹️ (In trying to hang on recently, I settled for enjoying rewatching your reaction to "Me!". 🙂)

All of Long Pond Sessions is special, it’s a bit of a unicorn album. Some day you should react to the entire Long Pond Sessions film. There’s a lot more she talks about then the bits you’ve heard and there’s something magical about hearing it the whole way through live with the stories behind each song. She weaves a spell.

I love folklore and evermore so much. A lot of the baby swifties or new swifties think they’re boring since it’s not the usual high-paced pop that they associate with Dr. Swift. Most likely cuz they’re on the younger side or cuz they haven’t had enough time in the fandom to sit with the other side of her album Red and other story-telling songs. Definitely nothing wrong with that, but just a bummer that these incredible songs are slept on... but I guess they’re lucky in a way cuz they’ll get to discover them later in life lol

This is Long Pond Studios in Columbia County, NY, a rural county in upstate NY and was created when Aaron Dessner wanted to move his family out of NYC. It is just outside of a city named Hudson and the studio is about a mile from the Hudson River! 😊

Upstate New York. The Long Pond Studio is located in Columbia County, Upstate New York, near the Hudson Valley. The studio is owned by Aaron Dessner of The National. (The long haired guy.)

Actually, I was pleasantly surprised by this song. It’s different from J-Hope’s previous solos I feel like. But the underlying spirit is the same, HOPE. It just makes my heart swell with…I don’t know, a lot of emotions.

Taylor Swift seems to be a producer for her own music, because she's there from concept to music videos and concerts. I always enjoy when you bring in the producer angle, and I don't know of any other reactors who are producers. 😊👍

There's no music video for this song but I still highly recommend listening to the whole album with full production. There are some songs on this album where I prefer the long pond version (e.g. my tears ricochet, exile, Betty) and some where I prefer the full production (this is me trying, mirrorball, illicit affairs).

When I first heard this one, I didn't love it b/c sonically it didn't really hit me. But later, once I had a chance to process the lyrics, and after seeing Long Pond, I grew to love it. I think she's singing directly to the fans, or at least I like to think so.

In the Hudson Valley; runs from NYC almost to damn Canada. He lives about 20 or 25 miles southeast of Albany; county seat is probably Husdon. He's said it is a mile from the river, so he wouldn't get the constant winter ice on the car from the river's humidity. I lived maybe 15 or 20 miles north of that, in Schodack. He'd either shop in Hudson or Albany.

Great reaction again! As others have said, there isn't a full video for Mirrorball but there is an official lyric video. You should definitely listen to the full production version because it really envelopes you in that sparkling D chord sound you were talking about. It's very mesmerising and kinda makes you feel a bit giddy, like the room is spinning in that good way when you're a little bit drunk and falling in love. Mirrorball is one of my faves, as you can probably tell.

The Long Pond Studio where this was shot is her producer Aaron Dessner’s studio in upstate New York in the Hudson Valley. The Folklore album was recorded in her home during the COVID shutdown in 2020. When they could finally get together to actually record an album in one studio, they did this Folklore: Long Pond Session album. It’s a more striped down version of the Folklore album then the original but both are beautiful. I can tell that Taylor is not your favorite, but I do appreciate you both doing these reactions. Without the explanation about the song, this could also be viewed as being about the unraveling of her relationship with Joe. She’s trying her best to remain sparkly and interesting to him, yet no matter what she does she cannot keep him entertained/invested. The best thing is that it can mean something different for each of us.
