Everything I have heard about this song says that life is full of "right places"": husband, father, son, boyfriend, etc. But if those are not the right places for you, you are the "wrong person." So, in essence, RM is looking for his right place, but he keeps being the wrong person until he finds the right place for him. Hope that makes sense!

Did you notice RMs outfits changed with each room he went into? Did you notice each room was a different scenario, a party, a family, a girlfriend, as a baby. Did you notice his emotional state changed from sad to happy. Each room he went into shows a different choice/path he could take that will either make him sad or happy. At the end you see the endless possibilities (multiple versions of the same rooms) in life you can take. Think of the movie Groundhog Day where the day kept repeating. Each day Bill Murray played out different choices/scenarios. The choices he made that day didn’t pan out like he thought and he would go to sleep unhappy. When he woke up the next day it would repeat. In the end he woke up and the day stopped repeating because he had finally made the right choices/decisions that made him happy. RM read a book called The Midnight Library that has you thinking “Imagine seeing the life you could have lived if you had a chance to follow through on your regrets.” There is actually a live version of RM singing this song prerelease (unfinished). He performed it during the last day of Suga’s D-Day Concert.

The MV director is a Korean America named Lee Sung Jin who directed BEEF on Netflix. Lee Sung Jin said he and RM shared a lot of stories and came upon a story about a man that was stuck in a house with his PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE. Doors have always been very symbolic. The door with the three different colored circles could mean PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE . Triptych architecture in history has also had symbolisms for past, present and future or for harmony like life and death, man and woman, Yin and Yang, the moon and the sun with the middle piece being the connection, our enlightenment, a third eye, a doorway to inner happiness. Also the different colors and lighting keep changing and I believe when they finally go through the door the three colors on the door are red, green and blue and I know RM has mentioned RGB before. He's also mentioned multiverses and reading The Midnight Library (many similarities to this MV). The girl throughout and at the end is "him", it's his anima/animus which he manifests to guide him. It was lost and now that he has found it again or it has come back to him he is able to find peace and live his own life without regret. Right Place, Wrong Person. It is the name of his upcoming album. It's conceptional. The place isn't wrong but he (we) might feel wrong. The conceptual understanding is that we need to find ourselves, our own happiness to feel right wherever we are. First day of shooting RM hit his head on a camera, cut his eye and he needed stiches. "You’re always a little nervous when you’re working with these giant global superstars. Are they going to want to rehearse? Are they going to take notes? RM was game for everything. He was there for long hours. First take of the very first scene, he bent down and his head hit the camera and it was a giant gash on his eye and immediately I thought, “Oh great, I’m going to be deported immediately because I’ve just scratched this national treasure.” To his credit, he went to the hospital, got stitched up, came back and he was ready to go. He was so versatile and open to direction and I think he was also pushing me. He would come and check the monitor and be like, “Oh, I think we can get that one a little bit better.” He has an incredible team behind him too." - Lee Sung Jin

10:00 Pharrael Williams is THE PERFECT Reference. RM did an interview with him after releasing his last album (and maybe while working on this or starting to think about it) and I see this project being totally influenced by that, they talked about so many things that I can see in his concept for this video, pain in confessing and exposing himself, stylistic choices with their voice, having different roles...

Some things I noticed and my take on the mv: He looks indifferent, confused and searching in the first half of the Mv as he wanders though the different sets. All the rooms or scenarios showcase diffent pressures/expectation one might encounter in their live: peer pressure (party, smoking, alcohol), societal expectations (marriage, kids), parental approval or lack thereof etc. He meets another wandering person (woman in blue-purple-ish dress), maybe part of himself, Jungian theory: his Anima?, or guide?, the conversation or the knowledgement (not beeing the only person not fitting in), results in him beeing able to enjoying all the scenarios that follow. As he acknowledged these pressures, he is able to finally open the door and exit. The camera panning out shows us, the viewer, the sheer endless sets = scenarios = pressures/expectations This knowledge/awareness sets us free. Namjoons (aka RM) comment from the 2022 FESTA also came to my mind, where he talked about parallel realities and the uncertainty of choices (there are no maybes and ifs), and how so often they had to go with the least bad option. Or as Suga put it in an interview or his lyrics: Live is a repetition of choices and regrets. Also interesting to notice: The lyrics "spring has always been there" as you see the Door for the first time. BTS mentions "spring" in a lot of their lyrics, it stands for "better days" to put it simple. So the answer/escape (door) has always been there, the key to open it is acknowledging your oddness/not fitting in "you don't have to be the everying you see" => love yourself for the door to open for your spring 💜 Damn... phoet Namjoon walking through, I love his thought process and ephathy.

Much of their works are influenced by literature. There are theories that this MV may relate to the book "The Midnight Library". This is the plot from the book and it totally makes sense to me. “Between life and death there is a library” she said. “And within that library, the shelves go on forever. Every book provides a chance to try another life you could have lived. To see how things would be if you had made other choices….Would you have done anything different, if you had the chance to undo your regrets?” I am reading this book now and loving the concept. Thanks for reacting.

Their legions of global fans follow them mostly for the music, the talent, the artistry, the diversity. Their amazing personalities, depth of honesty, charm and charisma help too. But it's the MUSIC that has them topping global charts all over the world.

Love this. Like BTS led the way to show a group of artists, industry outsiders can do the impossible and make it big not obeying the rules. RM proves you dont have to sell out. You can be the artist you want. MY THEORY in RMs work every mix tape and album is different from the last. His first self titled mix tape the track DO YOU( the song that says clearly he refuses to be labelled or boxed into any genre). He is continuously pushing boundaries. In a way thats what is also happening in the mv. RM wanders around depressed confused and unhappy through all these potential different lives and expectations never being comfortable. We see this has been so since he was small. At some point he becomes more comfortable in each scenario after being united with his other half/ self, and he can be more comfortable with others. But he still doesnt stay, he moves on finds himself and accompanies the woman( his other half Jung or Plato?) out of the maze of societies expectations to find non of it's real. In the light he sees its all fake sets designed and created by someone else. However with RM there is always light at the end. Hope of better futures now he can see what life is about, he is free of those boxes. There are several clues for ARMY buried within the MV. Pain Devine. During a conversation piece with Pharrell Williams they discussed judging lyrics by how painful they are to produce ...pain divine, devine inspiration?

Actually it's about him being confused, depressed (doesn't want to know about the hour- he doesn't feel like washing his face and he forgot to shower / he doesn't want to do anything and RM has a history of being depressed) about life and the societal expectations put upon him (smoking, drinking, being a husband, a father, a partner, an outgoing child). He always felt as an outsider, not fitting in (he's feeling confused, unhappy in every scenario - his album is called 'Right place, wrong person'). In the third woman he recognizes himself. She's the female version of him, his alter ego. She's also confused, just as him. When he talks to her he realizes he's not alone with his feelings, that a lot of people are struggling with life. Now he can accept himself (you dont have to be, you don't have to be the anything you see / trying not to be, trying not to be that something in the see = you don't have to try to fit in, be something you're not / you don't have to be just as anyone else), be his true self and be content in the moment (you see he's happy in every scenario now - he says he found his Spring again). When he says 'Come back to me' he's talking to himself (to come back to his senses - mentally). Now he has the courage (represented by him taking a deep breath) to open the door and face life/walk through life with its endless possibilities and consequences it has, being content in the moment, now that he doesn't have to place himself into a box (represented by the maze of rooms/boxes). The overall theme is self-acceptance and his journey of self-discovery (what he wants in life on a professional and a personal level).

There are five different women playing different roles. It’s about feeling out of place. I think he’s imagining himself in various scenarios and feeling uncomfortable in the various roles - hanging out with friends, starting a family, navigating a romantic conflict, transitioning into an adult relationship with his parents, etc. The final woman is his anima (Jungian theory). When he resolves that relationship with himself, he can now re-imagine all these other situations and feel like he could belong in them. Anyway that’s my theory.

3 things I wanted to say: 1. I was impressed by the amount of other famous talent (actors, directors, editors, musicians, etc) that RM was able to gather for this project. An article said that he called them personally and asked if they would like to participate. 2. There are about 100 different theories of that the music video is about but one article said that it was an exploration of the past, present and future. BTS have always said that their art was open to interpretation by the person consuming the art. So, it can mean whatever it means to you. 3. THANK YOU SO MUCH for checking this out! I'm copy pasting an explaintion I saw under another post. - My theory is that these are all different events that occurred to him in various timelines of his life: he was a child to his parents, a friend in a group out partying, a boyfriend in a turbulent relationship, and then a husband with a beautiful family. Throughout, he felt like he never fit perfectly into any of these roles. In his journey of self-discovery, he encounters another human, Kim Minha, who is as lost as he is in the maze of societal roles and expectations. However, after they have a conversation on the couch, he realizes that it's not just him; this is the reality for most people, and life is never going to feel perfect. Cut to him being transported to these scenarios again, but now he is happy because knowing he is not alone in the journey makes him appreciate life and its imperfections more. In the end, it feels almost like an enlightenment where he is freed from the shackles of pursuing a perfect life and now understands the true meaning of living. You see him walking through the forbidden door with Kim Minha, both now happy and content.

Oh, since you’ve watched RM’s and J-Hope’s solo projects, could you react to JK’s “Standing Next to You”? The mv is the director’s take on Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet (Di Caprio and Danes). There are behind the scenes for it too. Then there’s Agust D’s “Haegeum”, V’s “Friends”, Jimin’s “Like Crazy” and Jin’s “The Astronaut”.

CBTM is open for interpretation. Many ARMYs have theorized themes taken from The Midnight Library, a book Namjoon read in In the Soop Season 2. For me, CBTM is Namjoon telling us that he has come full circle. His songs often speak of his struggle with identity and self love, such as Intro:Persona (Map of the Soul, 2019) and Wildflower (Indigo, 2022). In Intro:Persona, Joon has a re-current question: Who the hell am I? As the EP Map of the Soul is framed using Jungian Psycholgy, the personas Joon grapples with are the ones set by society; the family; the entertainment industry. One cannot easily escape or free oneself from these personas. But, if one is able to know oneself then, the personas can be simply that. Personas. In CBTM, Joon was able to come to terms with his personas having found his soul - the anima; a female archytype that is the symbol of the “one true self”. That is why, there is a woman who was looking for him. This is still Jungian and the book, Map of the Soul by Murray Stein was read by Joon. He has a “live” talking about this and the group’s creative process for their EP, Map of the Soul. As ARMY, I’m glad Joon is able to share with us this song of being at peace with his many roles and personas because he knows who he is. 💜 In a way, Joon is inviting us to find our anima/animus. To come back to “me” and be. This is BTS. They fight their own battles and they will inspire you to fight yours too in creative and proactive ways.

Surprise. Surprise. No rap from the rapper RM. You didn't know he had this other side to him. Check out his first solo album "Indigo". And even before that his mixed tapes he had a few surprises like this. "Bicycle" being one of my favorite. You missed it on the meaning. Let me give you this. And watch it again. "Come Back to Me". RM is coming back to himself. Now lizten to the lyrics again. I found a great article on the director. He is the director of the TV show "Beef". It explains how he was chosen. How he was able to bring along an excellent cinematographer and art director. Last thought. Going through pain can bring you to your Divine. Thank you for your reaction. I always look forward to them.

It's really not fair (to them) that they're trying to react to BTS videos without knowing their history. It makes their reaction a little hollow.
