She is the musical artist of the group, she has said that "singing is stress relief, everything kind of makes sense when I'm doing this." Sometimes she stays up through the night in the studio, just playing music and singing. Please check out her performances on the SEA OF HOPE reality show. The show is about a small group of celebrities and singers who open a beach café, doing all of the work (catching fish, cooking, baking, bartending and serving the customers), and Rosé was the first special guest on the show. While she was there she caught fish, washed dishes, wrote the specials on the menu board and even became a waitress, taking orders and serving the customers! After the customers finished their dinner the cast put on an intimate show, singing on the beach. This song is in fact not about relationship - the person she addressed is her past self (the person she was before she blew up with Blackpink). Essentially she is telling us that everything we need in life is already within our reach (friends, family, passion for the things we love - for her it is music). Another solo of hers that is worth attention is Gone. She co-wrote both Gone and On the ground. Both were released in 2021. Her first full studio album called “Rosie” is going to be released in December by Atlantic records. Comprising 12 tracks, “Rosie” has been described to represent "a burst of honesty" from the singer, showcasing Rosé as a co-writer and co-producer of the entire record.
Last year Blackpink renew their contract with YG as a group but they didnt sign their solo contracts, Rosé is now with Atlantic records and she's dropping her first solo full album on december 6th with 12 songs, she has other solo called Gone, you should check it out, she has writing credits in both songs...
the song is about self-reflection -- so it's about a relationship with herself. she misses her old self -- when she was just focused on her music, her time with herself and her family. thus, the scene where popstar Rose is singing to young girl Roseanne who was playing the piano.
Great reaction. When you see the music video, close to the end, she is talking to her younger self. You see her write her current name (Rose), then you see her write the name that she grew up with (Roseann). IMO, while focusing on achieving fame and commercial success, she lost touch with her younger self who was more focused on the artistic endeavor, while also realizing that from the start she already had the most important thing in life, a loving family that loved her for who she was. That love and connection is real. While the commercial success is just an illusion as it can disappear tomorrow (which often happens in the music industry).
