Zach made me go fat biking - come along for a loose and wild ride in the snow. I pulled up our Fat Biking 101 video for some tips, tricks, and pointers so I could make the most of my time out on fat tires. How did I do? Stick around to find out.

Fatbiking a group and on proper groomed trails like we have in the province of Quebec is amazing. Snowdog on the trail after each storm and enjoyment will go up.

I am in New Brunswick and I have ridden the trails in Grand Falls - Grand Sault. Their trails are groomed with a dog. Fantastic ride! Cheers

I’m out 3-4 times a week on groomed trails and it’s fast and fun. Can climb anything. Downhills are sick! Night is awesome ... lights are great with the snow. If you live where you can make or access groomed trails ... well, I don’t want winter to end.

Fat Biking is an amazing way to embrace winter up here in the Great White North! I'm recovering from surgery on a broken left shoulder/arm at the end of November, so no riding for me this winter. Hard to believe how much I miss it...

This is my first season on a fat bike as well. The first few times were so tuff. When you ride unpacked trail you feel like you are one corner away from a handle bar to the ribs. You nailed it pretty quick with a shot to the nuts. You need a bike bib with a cup for those first few rides in softer snow. The groomed fat bike trails at the Ogden Nordic center were amazing yesterday. It was amazing the difference a packed groomed trail makes. Thanks goes out to BE for there donations there to groom the trails.

Fat Bike Winter Biking ROCKS!!!! As @sebmour stated a machine groomed trail makes a world of difference. I have trails on my property and I snowshoe and pull a tire. Cheers from New Brunswick Canada.

You just might like it with clipless too since your'e used to that on your MTB. You'll add three+ points when riding on groomed trails - Ogden Nordic/North Fork Park in Liberty is simply amazing right now. Thanks for another awesome video - this was so fun to watch!

This was excellent! I went fat biking for the first time a few weeks ago and it was a totally different experience. I fell many, many times and had a hard time controlling the bike. But I'll do it again!

This is gonna be a long ass eassy, but here it goes... I got my fatbike last year, bought a canyon dude used. Riding on ungroomed trails is not really fun or worth the hassle imo (:. But where I live, crosscountry skiing is popular and when those trails are hard, like if it is minus degrees (celsius, im norwegian sorry), its super fun! You get a different perspective of the trails you are used to during summer, and the grip in corner is insane. Some places there are natural jumps, so I can ride playfully aswell. Also the months between winter and spring is often icy, and little did I know, it is super fun to ride with studded tires(this is often true with regular trail bikes aswell, but fb tires seems to be more versatile). Lastly I love to use it in shit summer/autumn weather, because having a hardtail makes maintance that much easier, and those fat tires provide better grip when going on muddy/boggy climbs. So the fatbike really opens to alot of differnt reiding experience, than just having a trailbike. I'm practically riding 12 months a year as oposed to 6, and much rather rdo this than spending time inside on a roller. Also taken it down 10ft drops on black bikepark trails(it has a 100mm fork), actually "respect" this bike more than my enduro bike! Cool to see you ride, I love the videos you put out!

Just like for a mtb, tire choice is key. I ditched my Jumbo Jim's. It's a good groomed condition tire, fast rolling, but not good when you are making trail( as i sometimes am here in Minnesota) picking up the pace. I'm running 45 North Flowbeist the front, Dunderbiest in the rear on my Kona Wo. Huge difference. Flow keeps the front from washing out, and the Dunder is paddle-like for forward and braking traction. I've even ridden them in the summer.

JJs are great year round tires IME, but you're right that if you're laying first tracks you need something more.

I decided to get into fat biking because I broke two ribs and I had to sit in a recliner for two months. I needed an inexpensive and convenient way to rebuild my fitness this winter. I didn’t realize how mu fun it would be.

If you want to be in the best shape of your life and have fun, buy and ride a fat bike and ride as much as you can. Supplant this with being a human powered trail groomer dragging and packing trails. Not only is it fun, you will be in great shape.
