ABOUT ME
I’m 33 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city s a Police Officer and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 1200 breeding ewes.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on RU-vid and decided I could have a go and now here we are!
Since starting The Sheep Game I have met Lizzy and had two incredible boys Jock and Angus. You will see them all on this channel!

I love the commentary with the wee lamby, you are a riot! The photo of you catching a nap with Jock is priceless. During lambing season, a man has to rest when he can. Good job Dad and wow, another beautiful sunset.

Spot is really coming on there. You needed to work like this for him to learn. Seems less stressed too and needs that gratitude for well done. Poor Jock... things happen and it's worse leading closer to delivery. Hope he did well for the few stitches. Regular socks can grab bandage, I like the footie socks with grips. Take care 🌻

@@TheSheepGametrue true I’m used to family vloggers pop a siren 🚨 in the corner, 😮faces 😢or parents and a kid laying in the hospital bed. It’s a bit much. We all have been through this with our kiddos & it’s terrifying no doubt but ya expressed that fine without exploitation. All those firsts with a rambunctious youngun causes one to want to bubble wrap them Up. But fresh air, plenty of space and plenty of exercise and play is what’s going to make him strong and healthy. You two are excellent parents!

Lizie, all I can say is… boys! This is just the beginning of farm boy injury. As long as they are like these, you are doing great!! I had a similar experience but stitches in an eyebrow and he was awake for it. You got this mothering thing down don’t question that. Love and hugs for Jock from Kentucky!

I found Cammy and this channel through another RU-vidr from Canada. Her channel name is Sandi Brock. Between watching Sandi for a couple years and now watching Cammy. I do believe I have a new addiction that might end with me having my own little mini farm with 2-3 sheep in my near future lol. I’m 100% hooked and it only took ONE 10 minute video 🤣❤️

👀 what I found...a vocabulary list for those of us with no brogue 🇺🇸 -Cull Yow - An old female yaw (ewe) that is too old for breeding. - Gimmer - Female sheep (Cammy says...gemmel) -Lamb - A sheep under 12 months of age. -Mule - A cross breed sheep. The most common mule is a Northern Mule. It’s a cross between a Bluefaced Leicester Tup and a Swaledale yow. -Pet Lamb - Also known as a bottling lamb. These are orphaned lambs that are raised by bottle feeding and often come out quite small because of it. Around lambing season you can find many a lamb in a farmers house being bottle fed. Shearling - Also known as a Hogg. A lamb/young sheep that has finished weaning but has yet to have its first shearing. Generally 9 to 18 months, yet to cut its first two teeth. -Store - A weaned lamb that is often sold off for fattening. -Tup - Northern/Scottish for Ram. Male sheep used for breeding. -Wether - A castrated male sheep. -Yow - Cumbrian/Northern/Scottish for Ewe. A female sheep, which has given birth. -Bag - Udder -Sook - drink

Oh my gosh Spots face making sure was that ok after the swing her back leg wording and then got the you done well Spot because he really did it. He just needs to learn a victory roll or maybe he will come up with another idea. :) Poor wee Jock. But he will be proud of that scar one day. The joys of them growing up. And the terrors when they get hurt. Hes a true boy that is for sure fears nothing bless him :) Spot riding that 4 wheeler so well and I picture him soon wearing a slick pair of sunglasses or goggles haaa. Cammy man! You keep forgetting your plastic lambing gloves - do be careful! My wife Janet and I love to watch your presentations every morning down here in Wensleydale- surrounded by sheep! Oh yes! And yapping dogs! Spot is a corker of a dog, and you seem to handle her well! You, by far, are the best promoter of sheep farming unlike the sissies on other Channels! You show it how it is! Great! Ugh. I was exactly that pregnant when I ended up in the ER with my daughter, who got so excited that Daddy was home from work that she face-planted on the floor and split her lip open to the white beneath her lip line. Blood everywhere. Tell Lizzie she has my total sympathy!

Gotta love when the kids are old enough to start injuring themselves....theyll worry you to death. My daughter landed herself in the hospital at least 3 times a year for 3 yrs. She was super smart and very good at sneaking when she was a toddler but couldn't understand that she wasn't immortal. I swear I'm not sure how I managed to keep her from staring in an episode of dumb ways to die. I always wanted a bunch of kids bc I'm from a family of 6 kids. She was my 1st and changed my mind. My son was a suprise 😂 and was the exact opposite of her. Reminds me so much of your two boys. Jock the fearless leader, and sweet little Angus taking his time to join in the madness and chaos. Just happy with a cuddle and to sit in the sun ❤

I remember when my boy was little, he came running to the kitchen screaming with blood running down from his eye. I grabbed him and called his Dad at work in a panic. He immediately started home. After I got George calmed down, I could see it was a tiny cut above his eye, not his eye. When Dad got home he was playing calmly and he looked at me and asked "did you want me to put a bandaid on it?" I felt bad for getting him home, but it was frightening!!

Lizzie farm kids injure themselves - it will get easier over time to look, do like my mother and roll you eyes knowing that stitches are needed - I remember going for the final swim of the year down the river and some twat broke a large beer bottle that I didn't see it - I slipped on a rock and cut most of the heal off my foot, biked back to the yard with my heal flapping as I went where Mum was running the harvesting shed - into the Dr in town for a stitch up and checking I had my tetanus up to date - Dad remembers having to take me because the Dr checked his tetanus status as well and he got a shot - 2 families on the farm so 7 kids - 6 boys and me the only girl

Great stuff , the weather makes the difference. As someone who has delivered 1000s of lambs I don't advocate this attitude that a ewe lamb should not be retained for breeding because its mother was assissted , nonsense , lets face it no woman decides that her child should be pesented breech. A little pull is all thats needed .

Sometimes, I don’t know about you. You seem like a 76 year farmer in a 36 year old body. You definitff ed ly need some bigtime upgrades to your farming/sheepjng systems. Screw the notion that, “Lambing is so beautiful and natural out in the fields, and think ahead to the future. You need to let the kids grow and spend time with you, instead of Lizzy having a baby every year or so... The oldest then acts like a baby, and doesn't mature, then he feels ignored... I know how it is

I'm guessing that you have missed all of the clips that haven't been edited out where Jock is with his father and "helping" him with the sheep and filming every chance he gets hold of the camera. Jock is a tough active little boy who can also be very stubborn when it comes to what he likes and wants to do. The last video on yesterdays Instagram post by Mozzie was just minutes after he got home from the hospital and he was already going into the pet lamby shed to get his favorite 2 lambies. It was clear that he had a mission with his lambies and he pretty much ignored his mum. He is a tough farm child and accidents happen no matter where you raise your children. It would be different if they were unsupervised which they aren't. You have no business telling them how to raise their children or how many or when they have their children. They have a lot of family and people who work with them and those little boys are learning how to help with the sheep and life on a farm. You only see 10-30 minutes out of their day during lambing which is their busiest time. It's obvious that they spend a lot of time with both parents. Frankly as busy sheep farmers it's probably easier for them to have their children closer together because they have more energy and stamina than they will have in 10 years. My parents had 8 children and what you described was never an issue for us or in the families that I would work for as a babysitter and later on a Nanny.

@@meiraloraduncan8953 well said people like them get my back up it’s as if there implying the kids are neglected which couldn’t be further from the truth . Jock and Angus get more time with there parents than those that work outside the home and kids have to go to nursery. I hasten to add there’s nothing wrong with that either as long as a child is loved and shown love everything else slots into place.
