I’m watching this straight after enjoying your reaction to Tim Minchin. I’m wondering if Mick Hucknall has ever watched Tim’s hilarious song “Prejudice”. Both of them are very talented redheads. “Holding Back the Years” and “If You Don’t Know Me By Now” were my favourite songs by Simply Red. This brought me right back to the 80s, I was in my 30s, just had my 3rd child and loved this song. I would play it on repeat, while swaying my daughter to sleep. She now loves music as much as I do. I agreed with everything you said. Thank you.

Agghhhhh!!! I missed this by a day! I LOVED Simply Red and this song in particular was on my playlist (aka mix tape) when I wanted music to cry by!!! I also loved Stars and Holding Back the Years. I love that you look back at these classics that seem to have been lost to time…and it doesn’t seem that long ago. Love your content!! ❤

I’ve loved Simply Red since my teens. Three of my fav songs are, If you don’t know me by now…Money’s to tight to mention, which has a bit more grit while their song Holding back the years, hits me in the feels. Mick Hucknall’s voice is sublime.

Simply Red has done some great covers and this was one of them. The original was by Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes and it was a smash. You might want to check out The Love I Lost and Wake Up Everybody, two of the greatest songs by Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes. Thanks for this great reaction on Simply Red. 👏👏🥰

People aren't face to face. The digital age has fostered the use of buffers and masks designed to hide or blunt vulnerability. Very hard to cover yourself up in person. I think young people and young creators are just out of every-day practice on what actual "engagement" and naked honesty looks like in real life.
