The title is a play on the word "Jamaica" when spoken in an English accent. The song is a combination of rock and reggae (which is a music genre that originated in Jamaica). That's why the song has a tropical island feel. It's from the album Houses of the Holy (1973).
@@micahcunningham6812 wrong again. It’s a play on the word Jamaica in an English accent. There is an old English joke where a guy tells another guy his wife is going on a vacation to the West Indies. The other guy says, “Jamaica”? And dude says no, she’s going of her own accord. So that’s where commenter got, “did you make her” from. But you were both wrong.
If you wanna hear a “transition” in a song, any song, perhaps the best ever occurs in a Led Zeppelin song. The song is The Ocean. It happens around 3:15 into the song. That “shift”, “uptick”, “transition” is more than legendary. Listen to the whole song....
Your gonna have a great time going through the Zeppelin catalog young man -lol You will have many favorites I can’t wait to watch-love seeing new fans fall in love
This is from their 5th album (Houses Of The Holy). Just thinking now it'd be really cool for new fan to start from album 1 and go thru album 9 (Coda) doing reaction video for each song. Bet you get 1000K subs fast.
Mothership which is a compilation cd, was released decades after drummer John Bonham died. Look for the 3 disc version of this cd, it includes a dvd with 20 live videos which were taken from the Led Zeppelin dvd set. Good place to start.
The title is pronounced like "Jamaica" and it references an old joke: "My girlfriend went on vacation." "Jamaica?" "No, she went of her own accord." I didn't say it was a _good_ joke. :D
THIS WAS SOME VERY GOOD 70s Classic rock, Us 70s kids were over spoiled with GREAT MUSIC FOR 10 GREAT YEARS, Led Zep WAS WAY BIGGER THAN ANY BAND IN THE LAST 40 YEARS,, They have sold OVER 300 MILLION LPS WORLD WIDE
@@awoken1445 Sure, sometimes that happens, but a single stop does the job. No, he's blowing it. Newbies like this guy and the couple called Kae and Livy lack the discipline to let the music flow. BUT they can still make decent reactions by recording two takes and reversing the order. And the laziness of failng to research the song(s) first can be addressed that way when other methods fail. Of course one can avoid the repeat bunglers altogether. But I still like to watch new reactors fairly often because they can still give unique, wonderful, soulful insights. It makes me feel spiritually connected to these good young folks even while I don't meet them in person.
Unlike American English, Anglo English uses a lot of "lazy" pronunciation where words run into each other and are truncated and consonants are softened, hence American "vee-hickle" is "veakle" in Anglo- English. "Did you" is compressed to "djer". When said with "make her" (make 'er) it sounds like "Jamaica" and is the basis for an old joke - my wife and I went on holiday to the West Indies. Jamaica? No, she came willingly

ln Brit slang, Sounds like 'Did'ja Make her'. To 'make' a woman was to... um... y'know. But it's just a good Reggae take off. Which was Popular at that time.
Verbal communication is not your strong suit, son. At the normal volume, I had a difficult time hearing what you mumbled. When I turned up the volume, I realized you weren't talking about the song at all - you were emoting. But, I guess that's why it's a reaction video and not a review, right? Anyway, the constant interruptions ruined the listening experience for me. Don't drop out!
You seem like you're open to a lot of classical of Rock how about we go a step further Stevie Ray Vaughan Voodoo Child. Now this is a Jimi Hendrix remake and tribute song by Stevie Ray Vaughan and it has yet to be compared
