So cool to see this! I saw people mentioning Wilhelm in the comments on some of your videos. I filled in on bass, and then guitar, for Wilhelm in 2006-2007 (before the parts got really hard). Getting to play alongside Brian was a real treat, though! Long live AWS ⚡️

I was lucky enough to catch them 3 times in 2023, once opening for the Menzingers, a headline show and opening for the Flatliners and Gob. Always a great show and appreciative of the crowd

Drop D 4 string, live he uses an EBMM mostly. Also note live Brian sings backup vocals on a lot of the song.

Watching your face literally light up listening to and analyzing these bands I grew up with gives me a renewed appreciation. Great vids; great series. Thanks for putting these positive vibes out there and showing people there’s some crazy talented folks in the punk scene. Gets overlooked.

IMO Mat's bass work in early F2F was his best, but he's been on so many great albums with so many different bands one has to assume his influence goe's beyond just being a great bassist.

I came here to say that I saw them live last year in Hamburg and their sound is real clean. Seeing they do it live in a small venue was super nice. Could see it from very up close! The vocalist and I spend some time talking after the show. Super nice guy. Thx for giving some attention to AWS. They deserve so much more!

14:24 yup they all come from the same family tree, don't worry about it, I see a lot of hardcore ska punk and punk rock kids hang around together, next video I hope you react to lagwagon absolute obsolete

Love that you just appreciate good bass even if it’s not your taste! Brian is a MONSTER! The end of “We built this city” you would love as well.

A Wilhelm Scream is awesome! This sent me on a nostalgia trip since this band and the punk/ska scene was my whole highschool. Since you seemed to really enjoy the AWS song and Brian's playing, you may enjoy the song James Eats Plant; Loves PCP by The Fullblast. That was the band Brian played in before AWS and they are also an awesome punk band.

not only is the bass playing amazing.. but the guitar work as well, how they switch the bass tapping over to the guitars and the bass goes in to non tap playing is brilliant
