The entire Bon Scott era (he died 2/19/80) is worth listening to. "Ride On" was always a very special song to me. It's a pretty unique one and definitely the closest they've ever got into a ballad.

From their, 'Highway To Hell', album from 1979. Sadly, Bon Scott's last album with the band, with him passing away the following year. The entire album, as well as all of their 70's output was fantastic from beginning to end. 'Sin City', from Powerage would be an interesting one for you to react to. There's many others, though.

This was probably the album that put producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange on the map. He’d go on to produce many more massive selling albums for many artists from these guys, to Def Leppard, Foreigner, The Cars, Bryan Adams, Shania Twain and many more. ❤

AC/DC would never have happened without late singer Bon Scott... he changed the band's sound when he joined AC/DC in 1974 and gave them a sound and direction that they never truly abandoned til today... It was about sleaze, for sure... Most of AC/DC's songs are about sex, booze, partying and rocking out! Their simplicity and heaviness is what made them so popular... However, the song 'Touch too much' (released in 1979) was a little prophetic... In 1980, Bon Scott was found dead in a friend's car after a night of heavy drinking at the bars in London... His autopsy revealed that he had apparently thrown up while passed out and asphyxiated in his sleep. Brian Johnson (vocals) was hired in 1980 and AC/DC recorded the album 'Back in Black'... and dedicated it to the memory and spirit of Bon Scott by keeping the traditional sleazy lyrics of sex, booze and rock n' roll... That record has sold 27 million copies in the US alone, the 3rd best-selling record in the US of all time, and 50+ million copies worldwide. AC/DC still perform Bon Scott's songs live in concert today. AC/DC is recognizable by their lead guitarist Angus Young who acts as the band's mascot and showman by dressing as a schoolboy onstage w/ a jacket, tie, shirt and shorts... He does his famous 'Chuck Berry duckwalk' when AC/DC performs live and also does a striptease routine onstage during their set. AC/DC has gotten bad press for years... the band was accused of basically making the same record over and over again w/ little progression... and have been condemned either by religious groups claiming they were 'in league w/ Satan'... or the media who once linked AC/DC to notorious serial killer Richard Ramirez (He apparently left behind an AC/DC cap at one of his crime scenes) However, AC/DC ignored their critics and catered to their fans and built a huge following worldwide... They can play stadiums anywhere in the world from N. America to East Asia & their native Australia (where they started the band) Some of their biggest songs - 'Thunderstruck' ... 'Back in black'... 'Highway to Hell' ... "Girl's got rhythm" ... 'You shook me all night long' ... 'Who made who' ... 'For those about to rock - we salute you' ... 'Shoot to thrill' ... 'Dirty deeds done dirt cheap' ... 'Let there be rock'... 'Whole lotta Rosie'... 'T.N.T.' ... 'Rock n roll train'... 🔥🔥🤘🤘

Rere, AC/DC was a massive band for decades, but this is not one of their hits. I believe this is from their 1979 album. Check out T.N.T., Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheep, Hells Bells, or Back in Black to hear some of their big hits.

I've been a fan for nearly 50 years. In the US Dirty Deeds was a moderate "hit" (4 years after it was released) on the Rock charts, but TNT wasn't. Hells Bells and Back in Black were barely top 50 songs on the US Rock charts. These songs almost never got US radio play before Classic Rock Radio. The mainstream popularity is relatively new. Their "hits" outside of Australia were few.

2 things sorely missed in today's music, even so-called rock...The bad-azz build up to the dead stop ending, and the total mastery of the guitar solo ( Heard one on the radio the other day and it was kinda bland compared to the guys in the 70's.) And no doubt, you have to listen to their song that made them superstars.. The" Back In Black" promo video.

Oh wow, I saw up in the corner a video for maybe a “live” performance, of the song “Cover you in Oil”. That’s from their “BallBreaker” album. I don’t think ANYONE has done a song from that album. So many Awesome ACDC albums, songs. Bonn Scott era, 70s-80. Then came Brian Johnson for “Back In Black”. Bonn passed from tragic alcohol accident. I say pick a song, any song. “Back In Black” is my All time favorite album. But you start wherever you want. Jump from Bonn (anything early-late 70s) to Brian Johnson (80s) to present. But any video you will see, you will ALWAYS see Angus Young, on lead guitar, in his signature school boy outfit, rockin out!! Doing his signature (Chuck Berry) inspired Duck Walk!
