Angus's brother Malcolm was considered one of the best rhythm guitarists there is. He plays with open chords. Read about him. These guys are in their mid fifties when they did this and they are rocking a crowd half their age. Look at drummer Phil Rudd, old enough to be the dad to everyone in the crowd.
Malcolm is brilliant, saw them live in '82, to my surprise Malcom was 60%+ of the guitar, watchin him, Cliff and Phil on drums, I finally understood the Rhythm and Blues/Rock and Roll pocket and what a rhythm section actually meant, Tight AF! Angus was like whip cream and sprinkles on top of a perfect sundae, brilliant band.
Angus at his best is Let there be Rock Live in Glasgow with their first singer Bon Scott ( R.I.P you legend ) he goes absolutely mental and the sound is unreal considering it's in the 70's
I was at that gig; my second AC/DC gig in Glasgow, where they played regularly due to a combination of their Scots roots and the reception that they were guaranteed. There are parts of my skin that I still try to not wash. As me and my schoolmates were showered in Angus’ sweat! The choreography between Bon and Angus was something else, and Angus was on top form.
AC⚡️DC IS NITHING BUT PURE HIGH VOLTAGE BLIES BASED ROCK AND ROLL. THEY NEVER STRAYED FROM THEIR PURPOSE. NEVER LET DOWN THEIR FANS. ABSOLUTE LEGENDS!!!!
I saw AC/DC only last weekend here in Croke Park in Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪 They were phenomenal. Angus Young running around like a 20yr old and Brian Johnson still singing at 76yrs of age. 80,000 people rocking out. So happy I got to see them again. Doubt they’ll be coming this way again any time soon. I saw them in 2009 , when Rosie rode the train 😁
When Angus & Malcolm (RIP) were growing up, it was the older Malcolm that was playing in bands. Much older brother George had had nationwide record hits in the 60's and so I guess music & guitars had always been around the house. The younger kid Angus picked up a guitar around the house and just took to it immediately. Malcolm said Angus just caught up and kept on going. Angus always said Malcolm was the genius and had the imagination to come up song ideas and chord progressions and he just flies solos over the top of the song power of Malcolm on rhythm guitar. The brothers were such a power house together. Take a listen to the amount of the sound that Malcolm is making to support Angus. It also helps that Phil Rudd (drums) & Cliff Williams (1977 onwards) are one of the greatest rhythm sections
You gotta see Angus in his 20's so check out Let There Be Rock live at the Apollo Theatre 1978 and Fling Thing/Rocker from the same concert. It's from the Bon Scott days and trust me, you're gonna wanna hear him live. And of course you should do a live stream of the entire River Plate concert! 19 songs on the setlist and the band doesn't let up. Awesome reactions!
Yes, one of and maybe the most popular band ever. I've seen them 7 times but always in smaller arenas, never in a stadium setting. This band is always awesome live. Thanks for the reaction.
Keep doing more and more different bands I was a teen when I listened to them in the late 70's early 80's. I still get goosebumps too and to think they are touring again is amazing . So many songs to hear from AC/DC because of that I just subscribed !!!!! Ready to join in on your new adventures ❤✌🇨🇦🤗
He was playing like that at 15, when the band 1st started. It's a God given gift and the love of playing, he said that he was still learning to play in an interveiw in 91'
Molly Boy if you love Angus you SERIOUSLY have to see his unbelievably EPIC guitar solo during "Let there be rock" at that river plate concert . . . . . stunning!! gobsmacking!!! . . .Total respect.
A tragic case of the hedonism of the 70's/80's rock era. John Bonham as well. Fueled by the insane energy of the fans and the money coming in it is easy to lose one's self in all of it. Some manage to survive it and learn a lesson to help them clean up. Some just keep slamming away and never get tagged. But many don't live to regret it. The 27 club is full of them. If you look at the entirety of rock and excess you have to wonder just how some of the old folk like Ozzie are still alive.
Ive been a fan of AC/DC since i was 12 yrs old, im now 57,ive seen yhem live 3 times, ive bought tickets to see them again in july '24 at wembley stadium. Im taking my 17 year old grandson to show him how its done.
I'm an older fella, but I've seen ac/dc a few times. I was fortunate enough to see them with Bon Scott in 1979 just months before his death. They put on one hell of a show!
Best Rock and Roll Band ever just my opinion brother you are just scratching the surface of ACDC you are in for one very good ride all there albums are 🔥
Angus plays the guitar like it's part of him. He literally makes the thing sing. Not too many guitarists have ever been able to do that. Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan are the only other two who really come to mind in this genre. His solos are so soulful and a pleasure to listen to. He's definitely my favorite guitarist by far. There might be better guys technically but nobody sounds as good and writes better solos. Not to mention how underrated he is as a rhythm guitarist. Him and Malcolm are as tight as tight can possibly be. GOAT for sure
I say it again. Not too shabby for a bunch of old dudes!!!!! AC/DC played 3 straight nights at River Plate in Dec 2009 to a total of 220,000+ ppl so says their official web site so that’s 73,000+ a night!!!!! Brian Johnson was 63, Angus Young was 55 and the rest of the boys were in their 50’s!!! Legendary is all I can say. These Argentina fans are the best on the planet and they appreciate good hard driving rock and roll. Just look at all the different ages in the crowd. It transcends generations. Unbelievable!! I’ve already given you my recommendation of Angus doing Let There Be Rock from this show!!!! Enjoy the rabbit hole young one!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!! 🤣🤣🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸😍😍😍🥳🥳😎😎🍸
Angus got alot of help from his older brother Malcolm Young on rhythm guitar. Mal', as Angus called him, would not hold down the rhythm, but would assist Angus when for difficult solos. rip Malcolm!!!!! he was acdc.
You can hear the original 14 year old Angus on the first video they made of “It’s a long way to the top if you want to rock ‘n roll” - with Bon Scott as the vocalist
Analyze the entire River Plate concert please!!!!!! You asked!!!!! If you can pull that off you will be a AC/DC god!!!!!!I don't think anyone has ever done it fully!!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!! 😎🍸
Yup...... our sweet squeezable Rosie weighs 19 stone which equals 266 lbs which up here in Canada and the U.S !!! She was a whole lotta woman for sure.😍😍😍 Good for you Rosie!!! Who wants to grab hold and give a big old hug to a bag of bones???? Nobody I know of. 💕💕💕💕🤗🤗💕💕💕💕
AC/DC just pure, raw, unfiltered Rock and Roll music for the sake of it, at house parties people vying for the stereo, playing de facto DJ, trying to stoke the party vibe...could do no wrong with AC/DC, everybody loved hearing them at any party.
I'm a 73 year old aussie, and I STILL love ACDC. There's been lot's of great aussie bands, buth for me they are #1. Actually to this day, I still believe Bon Scott (the original singer before he died) was better than Brian Johnson. I would recommend that you review some of teh earlier videos when Bon was still with us.
Hi, I love these songs too. :D If you wanna see a crazy guitar job then watch AC/DC - Let There Be Rock (Live At River Plate, December 2009) I thought his guitar will burst in flames there. 😉
There are a few bands that are known for their guitarists. Van Halen, Eddie Van Halen on guitar, is one that comes to mind. Then there is Stevie Ray Vaughan, watch his songs from Live at the El Mocambo.
Legend has it that when Malcolm and his mates first starded Jamming together a 14 year old angus would come into the room and bounce off all the walls and furniture playing crazy solos so to answer your question about how long it took to learn Some are just Born with it. Though if you were to ask Angus he will tell you Malcolm is the better guitarist
I just rewatched this video because I needed an AC/DC lift in my day and you didn’t disappoint so now I say go watch the lads doing river plate 2009 “Let There Be Rock!!!! It’s Angus at his best so it’s a long video but if you want Angus live will here you go!!! Just saying!!! So says Austin Tx!!!! 🥳😎🍸
dave murray guitarist of iron maiden spoke of practicing 8 hours a day and coming home for lunch and playing another hour. adrian smith of iron maiden mentioned in his book feeling he needed to work on a section, more practice. lots of hard work and practice. jannich and dave spoke of sore fingers pressing down the strings. cheap woolworth or sears guitars. drummer nicko at 10 saqw a drummer on the telly and took his mum's pots and pans and was bashing away, using her knitting needles.
This is AC/DC from 1980 when Brian took over singing for the Late GREAT Bon Scott,,Phil Tudd{drummer} missed a few because of travel bans or his sick wife
It's a God given TALENT... He was doing this at 15 an interveiw he said growing up his family was into music different insterments and 2 older brothers had their own bands Georage was in the "EASYBEATS" he was only suppose to play a couple songs in the school boy uniform his sister made for him,,, side note the name also came from their sister AC/DC was on her sewing machine,, electrical currents. because of his age they lied so he could play in clubs, and that was the start of history.
Brian Johnson is impressive but he is not a patch on the original lead singer Bon Scott he was something else RIP Bonn, the embodiment of burjing the candle at both ends
Howzit going mate - there is so much music out there now, it's near impossible to hear it all (especially for the 1st time). Two words - The Warning (a trio of Mexican sisters - 1st time I heard them was on the trailer for Midnight Suns video game). They are young (they started in their early teens) and are now in their early 20s. They performed Enter Sandman (Metallica) and then later re-imagined it for the Blacklist tribute album (this is the version from the game trailer). They all can sing and play multiple instruments. And they are f**kin' phenomenal. I would love to hear you react to Dust to Dust (Live at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 08/29/2022) since you love live performances so much (and if you do like them, you should check out the rest of the concert). Paulina (Pau) the drummer wrote the lyrics when she was 13 and Dani (guitar) and Ale (bass) wrote their own music for it in collaboration. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sC9IbWYkips.htmlsi=XfJXwpHJWS0NQ4AG As for AC/DC - I've been listening to them for the last 40 odd years and still get goosebumps listening to Angus shred. And congrats on nearly 28k subscribers mate - that's 23k in 4 months :)
You really need to check out Bon Scott. He passed away, then came Beano Johnson. The whole Highway to Hell album is flawless. Especially my favourite AC/DC song, Touch too Much.
I saw them I think 81 82 83 Highway to hell Back in black For those about to rock Respectively Back in those days you did not wear earplugs to concerts. And they were by far the loudest show I’ve ever seen and I’ve been to a lot of shows since then because I’m old as dirt. Those spectacular shows. Some of the best ever they gave everything every time. Angus is special. He was an instant phenom. Well, for those who played guitar he was anyway.
2:23 About twenty years ago I would have still agreed with you here. But since then I started to listen more closely who plays what by watching videos. Only then I realized that the main sound of ACDC came from Malcolm Young, not Angus. In this particular song I have to listen really closely for anything from Angus up until later in the song. Now in songs like Thunderstruck things are different. There Angus is shining right from the beginning, not only later in the solo parts.
You have to check out earlier stuff with original singer, Bon Scott. I suggest, Riff Raff live from the old Apollo in Glasgow 1978. Angus is tremendous on this too, and incidentally ,you can see the transmitter on the back of his guitar as he was one of the first to use wireless technology. Yes, 1978 ❤
