Barry Manilow rewrote the song. It was a rock song named Brandy and it was about a dog. Barry turned it into a love song. I've been a fan since I was 9 or 10. The song came out in 1975. But Barry had another album in 1973. It didn't do so good, but that is when I found him.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🎵🎼🎶🎹

I am a true Fanilow , have seen him 50 times in concert! This was his first hit came out in 1974. The older music is better bc better singers, songs have a melody with lyrics. He is called the King of Easy Listening - has had more hits on the Easy Listening charts than any other artist!!

My friend loved Barry growing up. I loved Andy Gibb so she started singing this to me and just called me Andy - i changed the spelling to andie and I've gone by that since 7th grade. I'm 53 now 😊

Actually this song is a remake of a British song called Brandy - he slowed it done , arranged it differently & called it Mandy because there was a hit song in the US called Brandy Your a Fine Girl & didn’t want his song confused with that one!
lol Barry Manilow is 6 foot even. I've met him many times. he's very skinny and it makes him seem taller. he also used to wear boots will heels on them
