I'm a 65 y.o. black man from Philly and I grew up on them in the 70's. There's no auto tune,no filters etc. Regardless of your race if you loved good music this is a classic. They've got a lot of good songs including their disco era that people enjoyed. Yes your right baby making music that they don't make anymore. To me the 60's,70's & 80's were incredible for great music. Enjoy my friend.
yes brother we had legendary artists back in those days from various genres , disco, rock n roll, r &b, jazz motown. no auto tune just pure talent. listening to some orf the songs from the eras brings tears to my eyes from all the memories that flood back.
Subscribed. You have a very healthy and thoughtful outlook. Very interested in what the next songs will mean to you. Lots of great music in your future.
You must have had amazing parents! My oldest daughter is just shy of 40 and her name is also Kaylee ❤. I thought I had an original :) it was unique to us for years then all of a sudden caught fire. Blessings 💞. Oh and great job young man! You picked up a new sub 🎉
I'm a 63 year old British white man and I just want to say..................BRAVO to your fantastic reaction to the Bee Gees and you are so correct, NO AUTO TUNE! just pure talent when you had to rely on your God given gift. Keep going and I will be supporting you and spreading the word
WOW...A young MAN who can see the beauty of cross generational music and YOU said it....this is love music. 67yr old white man who still has rhythm in his body.... Thank you for reminding me of good things of the past.
I am in my 30s and I can't stand it either... My mom raised me on real music and everything else is just terrible... Why do you think it isn't good anymore
@@kendals3833 The destroyers are out to destroy everything good and everything that makes life enjoyable. Everything. Don't support them; in everything you do, figure out how not to support the destroyers & how to support what feeds real joy. ❤
Yeah, me too. I love the music from back in the day. No Auto-tune, just raw talent. Nobody cared about their looks, race, gender. We just cared about how the music made us feel.
I was so blessed to be a performer all through the best years...I loved singing all those songs...funny thing....I still get to sing those songs because I live in Florida...people here still love to hear these songs
BeeGee’s music is timeless. Does not matter which generation you are. Listen to their music and you will love everything you hear. I am 78 years old, my daughter is 52, my granddaughter is 24 and we all are huge fans.
I still remember going into my sister's room after they left for school and listening to their albums. Beatles, Bee Gees, the Rascals, etc. It's funny how those first memories of this music has stayed with me all my life.
Im 65 & we didnt realizehow we were living the best life in the US that there would be. From music to cars to jobs, it was a beautiful existence. 😢sad what it is today. You did a great job talking about life.
We were so blessed...streets were safe, music and cars were fabulous...prices were unbelievably less...$20 for four bags of groceries...decent wages... $400 per week...you could buy a used car for $300...I did and you could actually repair your cars then. I was raised in MOTOWN, when they were still there. Everyone worked for auto industry for decent wages
Hey young man, I am an African American female “boomer” and not only did we have tons of wonderful music in all genres to listen to, the music behind the vocals was all played on real instruments. Keep listening, keep learning, most of all enjoy, real music is timeless and can be inspirational, fun, soulful, whatever you want or need.
I don't understand why people feel the need to put up their race and their gender when it comes to this song like I get everybody on here thinks that this song helped to change racial barriers I really don't believe that it did because we had so much more better artists back in the day especially Soul musicians in particular Miles Davis BB King people like that changed the course of music as we know it but I don't think it matters on a white or black person or any other color turning on the radio back in the day and listening to music I just don't understand why people are bringing race into it what color you are or if you're a man or a woman it doesn't matter it's music it's always been the same it brings people together no matter who they are or what color they are it's music everybody loves to Groove Get down whatever but I really wish y'all would stop putting up your race card and how old you are and if your male or female it doesn't matter the only thing that matters is the music...
It's the'70s. The BeeGees, Marvin Gay, and The Comadors... So much sexy music!!👏🏻👏🏻 The men wore their pants correctly. You could see their cute butts. Everyone danced together. No one saw color the way they do now. It was a great time to be alive. The guys were brothers, too. That was a live take. No edits, just fantastic pipes!!
We did! From the BeeGees to Jimi Hendrix to the Grateful Dead and CSNY and Janis Joplin and Ike and Tina Turner and the Jackson 5 and Sly and the Family Stone-- and so much more. Whole lotta creativity and moving through musical barriers, marking new musical territory. I think it's cool that rap and hiphop have brought back poetry, but they're not lyrical-- I think it's interesting how this younger guy gets the power of lyrical, and live, and that makes me appreciate it more myself.
Most people are unaware that Barry Gibb and Michael Jackson were collaborating on a song at the time of Michael’s death. Some years later, Barry Gibb completed the project and released the recording of “All In Your Name” Which will send your soul in spirals. Two majestic voices together as one. I hope you will listen to it and comment after wiping the tears away, especially if you watch the video of them recording it together.
My older brother had a "Garage Band". Just a couple of guys from school who banged around on musical instruments and sang until they sounded good enough to play at a local school dance or a local Teen Center.
Sweetheart, the Bee Gees are one of the Most Greatest Sounding Group Ever!!! I am an African-American Woman in my upper years. I was crazy about them then and I still am! I saw them perform live twice Please listen to More of their songs especially, How Deep Is Your Love! ❤❤❤ So happy that you are open to experiencing different genres of music!
I’m a Boomer. The BeeGees were one of my favorite groups. I’ve been married 45 years. This was from the 70’s. You had to have real talent back then. This was passion for your music.
They were one of the best. I am a 64 yr old woman who adore these brothers. Sadly there only 1 left. They were a gift in the 70s. No “auto-tunes.”. BTW, you are such a precious person, so much sage thoughts beyond your age.
I will be 57 this month. The Bee Gees were famous when I was growing up and I loved them. I always thought Barry Gibb had the most beautiful voice and he was so handsome. The Lord truly gave him a gift. Thank you my sweet young brother for posting this video and appreciating their music. We really had the best music in my day. Love and God's blessings to you!❤✝️🙏😇🔥
Keep listening to the Classics, learning about them and spreading the word about the great music some of us grew up with. I'm 50 yes old but my 3 sisters would blast music like this on the weekend (Air Supply, EWF, Chicago) and my 2 Brothers blasted Eagles, Boston, Scorpions... the list is endless. Go down the rabbit hole and dig up what classics have to offer & teach. I'm truly happy by your reaction. My best to you...
❤as soon as he hit the play button I got goosebumps. I grew up on this song, have listened to it hundreds and hundreds of times and yet it still gives me chills.
I'm 65-year-old female and this is the music of my lifetime. There's nothing like it. It is an age that is long since dead unfortunately, in today's society will never understand how much to 70s and early 80s music means to people my age.
This is their real voices. You know they are brothers. They were around in the 70's and 80's. They did disco in the 80's. They were everywhere. None of that fake stuff we have today.
They've been singing since the early 60s, and are so much more than just disco. Look up New York Mining Disaster. Look up Children of the World. Look up Love So Right. Yes, they are certainly so talented and we were so lucky to grow up with them! Let their music live on!💕
They started in the 60s with The British Invasion. Disco happened in the 70s. The Beegees exploded with disco. Get it straight. Disco was way over by the 80s.. this is considered as part of the disco genre… after they adopted the soprano voices -which was not what they did in the 60s.
Boomer here. That right there is God given talent. No auto tune, no filters, just pure voices. Yes, we had the 60’s and 70’s music and there’s never been a better time musically.
55 year old white female and everyone loved The Bee Gees. This is roller rink music! Air supply and Chicago came after these guys and you would like them also.
A thousand 👍🏻 to you young man. You broke my heart. This is from my generation, the 70’s. You opened my eyes to what this generation is missing and I had failed to understand. So glad you found this, and so glad you shared from your heart. Understanding my grandchildren at a different level. Now I know what to share. Thank you so much from this 72 y/o woman. My husband and I (getting ready to celebrate our 54th anniversary) listened together, I told him, “You HAVE to hear this! It’s breaking my heart.” Never realized how much I was taking for granted. You have humbled me. Much love to you young man. Blessings ❤
Yup, my precious Daddy introduced me to the BeeGees when I was very little and I was INSTANTLY hooked! Sentimental music, some of the very best. Here to agree, it’s infiltrated our generation too. HUGE fan, disco and that era can never be replicated. This is my music, I claim it too… ‘87 baby.
Gen X here and 100% agree. I grew up listening to my parents 8 tracks and vinyl. Anyone remember the Solid Gold Hits? In Canada (maybe US too?), gas stations used to give out cassettes of hits whenever we filled our tank. I had a whole collection as a kid. Lol
No One Will be Like The Bee Gees, They are The Best , I grew up with Them , Barry & Robin & Maurice And their Brother Andy ,The Gibb Brother's Their never be any one will never take their place , Listen to their Brother Andy Gibb , ALL the Gibb Brothers had Amazing Voices , R.I.P , Maurice & Andy & Robin, Barry is the Last Gibb Brother Left It's so sad 😢 IF YA NEVER GREW UP WITH THE BEE GEES & ANDY GIBB ,YA MISSED OUT WITH AMAZING & AWESOME MUSIC,
Gen X here. I know you said you don’t have music like this, but what you need to realize is music is forever. Our music is your music, too. Keep discovering, and enjoy. Our lifestyle can be your lifestyle, too. 😊
Early GenX here, the Bee Gees were the soundtrack of childhood, which never leaves you. Their music was the anchor of the film Saturday Night Fever w/John Travolta about the disco scene in New York which wasn't made til '78 and with their theme song for the musical Grease later on w/Tavolta they endured in the public consciousness deep into GenX formation, then of course as teens we rebelled against it, but still ove them.😅 They crossed genres of pop, soul, disco, & rock, helping create a soft rock genre behind them. Thx for the trip!
💯 52 here, I was raised with music from decades before, to know where I came from and where I'm going! Music is eternal, and it's not just about what they have on Spotify that matters. Many parents are dying a good job exposing their kids to art and music, but many are not, it's sad 😢 BeeGees were the icons of Disco.❤
I get so emotional every time I hear their music as well. Breaks my heart that Barry is the only one left. I loved Andy as well. They were so incredibly talented. ❤️
As an older person that listened to this as a teen, I used to listen to our songs and think "Today's generation will never know...". But thanks to these reaction videos you guys are getting the sounds back out there !
@@IamKingReacts I think you would like a lot of music from The Bee Gees, as they have done a lot of different styles. I would like you to try 'Children of the world', for starters.
@@IamKingReactsi was born 1985 and I listen to this when I was in high school at around 2000s. A lot of my peers call me eccentric because of the music I listen to (bee gees, stylistics, etc). Until now I still listen to these music
I'm a 59 year old woman who grew up with The Bee Gees. I just love your response. Try also, "How Deep is Your Love." They also back up their younger brother, Andy on a song: "Don't Throw It All Away." Andy sings falsetto also. This song will break your heart.
I am so spoiled!! This is my generation of music. I actually thought this stuff was normal back then. Only as I got older did I realize just how epic our music really was.❤
Hi, I’m from the UK 🇬🇧 I was born in 1963. The Bee Gees were all brothers. Only Barry Gibb, the lead singer survives his brothers. They formed in 1958 but had chart topping success from the late 60’s through the 70’s but were active right up to 2012. I literally listened to them throughout my life. They were natural singers and amazing. So lovely to hear your comments and appreciation 😊
The Bee Gees were formed in 1958 by brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. They were especially successful in popular music in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and later as prominent performers in the disco music era in the mid- to late 1970s. In your terminology they were Boomers, born in the late 1940s. British born, they moved to Australia as boys. The music we had back then was real, no fakery and it spoke to the heart. And you're right. This was released in 1978. And it's classed as soul/ R&B. I think back then we didn't appreciate just how lucky we were, having some of the greatest singers and bands ever. It's nice to see young people today appreciating what we took for granted. :)
Whoever your parents are, tell them I said "thank you" for bringing such a beautiful soul into the world. My tears are for Gen Z. You truly need more heaven in your lives. God bless you.
I'm 42 brings tears to my eyes. This is probably my favorite band of all times. ❤ my teens listen to this as they have no choice when I'm bumping the music
I'm 65 and I understand the tears. It was a time in our lives when so much was simple and easy and that time in our lives can never be repeated. So many memories, so many.
Ah, yes, falsetto at its realest! Thanks for reminding me of this word not heard much anymore. They are art no one can deny... digs right into the soul center.
AUTO TUNE was invented in 1997. These three Musical Geniuses recorded and released this track ~ 20 years BEFORE auto tune was even thought of... Sir Barry Gibb and his brothers gave us close to 50 years of pure magic - and their catalogue is beyond impressive.
By the time auto tune was invented they already had 40 years in the business multiple number 1 albums, many #1 singles and had defined an entire genre of music. Asking them to use auto tune at that point would have been an insult.
@@collinnicholasns There's no musical instrument (at least in my book...) more beautiful and unique than the natural, human voice. Unfortunately, people in the business (who really don't know anything about music...) are only concerned with pushing their 'product' - a nice looking 'artist' that'll bring in the money for the label, whether they can actually sing - or not... And, the fact that this nonsense is added to 'older' albums by having them 'remastered' is beyond nauseating - as they sound nothing like the original recording.
Ya know, a little research before you go live would help your video. They’e been recording professionally since the late 50’s. That had their first US #1 in 1968. Look at their catalog and see who they wrote songs for and the hits they had with those artists. This song is from 1978-1979.
When I was younger we had radios! So we never knew who was singing, no face to music! We loved their voices!! As time went on we finally saw who they were!! There was no racism, we loved all!! Celebrate their gift of sound!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
My little town in South Texas, that I grew up in, had a Country Western bar, rock ‘n’ roll bar, the ballroom where the black kids hung out for soul, blues, jazz and Motown, and there was always some kind of Mexican event to go to for polka, then we had zydeco bands that would play at some of these places. Music was all kids had back then. It was that or the movies. You can only watch a movie once and then it’s boring so it was music that brought us all together.
I was in my 20s when this came out. They started hitting the charts around 1967. They wrote 3 songs in one day, all #1 hits. No auto tune. One of the best groups ever. Sorry you missed all that good music back then. It was an amazing time!
I'm Gen X and happy to say I grew up on these guys. No autotune in the 70's, my friend. It's all talent. Here's hoping you listen to more great music from this era. 😊
How have you never heard of the BeeGees 😵💫😵💫😵💫🤣. I was born in 65, grew up with BeeGees posters on my walls. Life was so much better back then. Love was real, kids had freedom, no cell phones, video games, I truly feel sorry for your generation. You missed the most amazing times. 🇨🇦
Yeah, I had posters of them on my walls too. Born in 1960. For me, the best thing is that Barry is still married to his wife of something like 50 years! You don't see that very much these days, especially in the entertainment industry, which is a real shame.
I am a 63 year old “boomer.” I have been listening to the Brothers Gibb for 50 years. The boys on left and right are Robin and Maurice Gibb and are twins. The middle is Barry Gibb. They are not only phenomenal singers, but extraordinary songwriters as well. Their catalog of songs is huge. They also wrote for other singers too. We definitely need to react a lot more to BeeGees here.
I am 52 and I grew up with my parents listening to The Bee Gees so I was hooked on them pretty early. Loved the Beatles too but The Bee Gees songs have really stood the test of time. Just timeless compositions and lyrics that just never grow old.
@@juismac my daughter is the same way. 😂 She’s got a list on Spotify of my songs that she grew up listening too. I always was singing in the car to the radio. She knows the lyrics to most of them in my list. 😂
I'm a baby boomer, among the last of that generation. I feel sad for your generation... seemingly without much hope for the future, without much real love, caught up in self-centeredness and fear for what tomorrow brings. It's refreshing to hear a young man of your generation NOT being disrespectful of others, and recognizing the beauty of our music.❣️ About the only new music I listen to these days is country, because it's real life.
The Bee Gee's were the seventies. I am still moved by their music. So pleased to see this wonderful young man enjoying it and appreciating real artists.
If what you say about your generation is true my heart bleeds for you all. I can listen to a song from the 1950’s,60,70,& 80’s and know where I was & how it fit into my life. Married 56 yrs to the only husband I’ve ever had. I wish that for your generation. It wasn’t always easy but we took our vows seriously. The BeeGees are one of my favorite groups. I have everything they have recorded including vinyl.cassette.cd and now the cloud. Listen to more than just this one and explore the songs they wrote and let others record.
You get a subscribe from this 63 year old for the respect you have for love, good music, and a good heart. It's heartbreaking to hear what you have to deal with in your generation, especially with your genuine heart. Jesus's peace to you young man and all the lemon candles you could ever want.
I'm a 40 yr old white woman, and the 💯% PURE unadulterated JOY this video just gave me is indescribable! Growing up in the 80s, I often listened to what my parents did, and I loved, LOVED the BeeGees 🙌🏻 and STILL DO!! And to see this youngster enjoying and appreciating some good old-fashioned REAL organic talent & music from the bygone days of an era long gone. It oddly gave me a strange, queasy, homesick feeling in the pit of my stomach. Like, a feeling of strong nostalgia and wanting to go back to those days and escape all the craziness of these past decades. The BeeGees, I think, would be classified as disco, soft rock, pop, R&B, easy-listening, etc. Thank you so much, young man, for giving me a flash back into the past while simultaneously giving me a spark of hope for the younger generation. I was beginning to think they're all "woke", Liberal zombies.😢 This young man seeing the value in something deemed obsolete by current standards and calling out (most of) today's music for what it is (a bunch of demonic sex and violence-filled degeneracy🗑) is the video I didn't know I needed before heading to bed full of stress and anxiety about the uncertainty of the world we're currently living in. If only there were more sweet, funny, respectful, decent young people like this guy in the world, I believe we truly would not be where we are right now as a society that is falling apart at the seams. I had to go back and rewatch. And yes, sir!! This kinda music, BeeGees, Al Greene, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers, Sam Cooke, The Commodores, Percy Sledge, etc is what I had burned on a CD when dating my husband at 18 and when we had our first child, a daughter, a year ½ later lol 😂 You will make some young lady a fine husband one day. I cracked up so bad when you said Jessicaaaa 😂😂🤣🤣 cause I was over here reminiscing too. Amazing how this one video has me sitting here smiling and completely elevated my mood! 🙌🏻 I'm gonna start listening to these Solid Gold Hits again! Thank you so much for this video! 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 At my age, even considering dating again is depressing as I went thru a breakup 3 months ago and haven't even began to think about moving on because a lot of men these days are either taken or smash and dash types with no actual desire for commitment on any level. Oh well, it is what it is. Whatever God has in store for me, may His will be done. Sorry for writing a book 😂 Gonna head to bed and I'll check out more of your videos tomorrow. Stay sweet, young man, and on the right path in life and God will bless you for it.🙏🏻 Thanks again for the memories 🥹👋🏼
I had 3 count em THREE double disc cd albums in my truck(along with some scorpions, snoop dogg, etc.) and some filthy dog stole it and all my Bee Gees!! I was so upset. Now I have Spotify but it ain't the same.
I’m raising my grand baby right. He’s 9 months old and his FAVORITE thing is the bee Gees. Every Friday after noon we have a disco party and mashed potato’s and jam out to The Bee Gees
They sang this in 1978 for a charity called 'Music for UNICEF' & made over7 million for their Charites. The Bee Gees (The Brothers Gibb) also have some great 'Disco' music as well, like 'Stayin' alive', 'Jive talkin' or maybe 'You should be dancing'. 'How deep is your love' is another pretty one like this. Barry is in the middle, then his twin brothers are Maurice in the beard & Robin was clean shaven. There was a 4th younger brother who had a solo career , Andy Gibb & he has a super similar voice to his brothers. Check out his song 'Shadow dancing' maybe. Same style, sound & era.
It was a great time to be alive. I feel like Bee Gees gave men a voice to show what kind of feelings men have but may never admit. These guys covered about every genre. I'm so glad their songs are timeless so your generation can feel the love and peace we grew up with.
The Bee Gees! Loved them growing up! Black female here, 54. My older siblings played them all the time. Yes, natural voices, no filters, no such thing as auto tune. 🎶
Their harmony, range and song writing skills are second to none. The Brothers Brilliant never disappoint. They donated all of the proceeds from this song to UNICEF. Barry (the gorgeous guy in the middle) is the only one still alive. 😢 This family simply oozed pure talent.
This makes me cry. His reaction, makes me cry .. I am so so so sad for his generation. We had the ability to dream and believe in love. Love the Bee Gee’s.
