You picked up on the aesthetics. The Anti-Drop Chorus is a direct homage to 90's Black Girlgroups like TLC, Balque, Jade, En Vogue and many more. And speaking of aesthetics, the first chorus set and fits were pulled from the 90's Black Girlgroups beige/creme era cargo pants with the background of flowing curtains and dusty grunge concrete settings. And finally that "Straight to your Dome" is what Venom does, it goes and aims directly to your Nervous systems paralyzing you. But it's a triple entendre because bot only this song is addictive but also "Straight to your DOME" like Dome Arenas. FUNFACT bout the song: - Jennie straight up started the song with notorious big lyrics references "kickin the door waving the 44" - lisa's "one by one then two by two" references to rihanna's "pon de replay" song - "look what you made us do" lyrics references to taylor swift's song - lisa and jennie rap part using samples sound reference to easy e's song "real muthaphukkin g's" (homage to boom bap era) - theres also 50 cent,wu tang and nas refference on the songs, try pick it up All this refferences seems relevant with this month 49th hip hop culture annvrsary I think they also refferencing to their upcoming world tour, Blackpink will perform their world tour likely not on an arena, but straight to ya muthaphukkin dome 😎😎 Taste that pink venom!!!

Is if confirmed they were referencing Taylor Swift? 🤔 It's a pretty common phrase to use. Especially for a group with ao much fan power behind them, pushing them, such as BP. Not to mention, a pop reference amongst all these obviously hip-hop references sticks out like a sore thumb, and not in a reputable fashion. Also, Taylor Swift is quoted as saying "Look what you made ME do", not "us". So, again, that takes credibility from that connection. If it's confirmed by anyone who had a hand in the creation I'll retract my statement. Until then. I'm holding firm that it's a huge reach.

This guy in arguably one of the greatest reactors. He is genuine and down to earth and relatable. not forced or saying things that seem rehearsed. Plus funny as hell. It was great to see him go through what I did when I found these girls. It was refreshing to not hear somebody bitch about the chorus and just bask in the venom of Blackpink. Lisa's "makes no sense can't get a dollar out of me" is a Fifty Cents call back as well as referencing her solo "Money" song. Her "Rambo" shout out is a reference for her rap line in "Boombaya". Rose and Jisoo's "look what you made us do" is a Taylor Swift call back. The last repetitive machine gun "ratatatat" with the rolling R is a shout out to Jennie's anthem-like "rapapumpapumpapum" with the rolling R in "Kill This Love".

The musical references here are pretty extensive: The song starts with a crowd chanting "Blackpink" like the crowd chants "Bravehearts" in the Nas song "Made You Look". Then Jennie hits us with a reference to Biggie's famous line "kick in the door, wavin the 44"(Jennie says Coco). Next Lisa references Rhianna's "Pon de Replay" with "One by one then two by two" and also 50 Cent's P.I.M.P. with "you couldn't get a dollar outta me". Rosé and Jisoo both reference Taylor Swift with "look what you made us do". Finally, the Jennie/Lisa rap verse is backed by a synths sample from Ice Cube/Eazy-E's part of "Gangsta Gangsta" by N.W.A. They(Teddy and the girls) definitely weren't shy about shouting out their inspirations/favorite artists in this song.

Welcome back brother... Dropped at 12am (Aug 19) here in Canada, 1am KST. I don't know how many times I've watched the M/V, with and without sound/without and without video. I saw the pre show countdown, and premier... Was still up at 3-4am LOL 100 Million + views on RU-vid in approx 29.5hrs I'm in M/V over load... too much to process. The gayageum or kayagum (in Korean 가야금) is a Traditional Korean plucked zither, and Jisoo is playing it. The Bird Cage is made by Chanel(logo on it, and I missed it the first time too)... so Coco. The bird inside she named Coco lol Lisa "Kick in the door" in How You Like That Black Diamond apples are a rare variety from the family of Hua Niu apples (also known as the Chinese Red Delicious). The name is a little misleading because they aren't exactly black, but rather a dark hue of purple. And BTW the close up of the hooded(VR wearing) figure watching Jisoo is actually LaLisa..

Not knowing the other possible reference - I took it a a nod to Lisa's entry on "Kill This Love" and the "Waving the Coco" was a clear reference to the Chanel rings she was flashing... Another duality all of us were missing? "Quite fancy for a fake show" - a dig at those who put them down? Lisa's apple showing that while they're fierce and dark on the outside, there's the softer side hidden inside? Rosé's "I'm a flower with venom" a wordplay on her name? - Rosé - rose? "The fire that'll slowly put you to sleep, so beautiful it's brutal" - another dig at "the haters"? Blackpink is going to make them burn so bad with jealousy(?) it's going to burn them up, it's done so well it's almost brutal how the fools won't realise it's aimed at them until too late? I could go on, but need food...
