Bob Seger is a great rock singer, songwriter & musician known for his raspy powerful voice. He wrote & recorded songs that dealt with love, women & blue-collar themes. "Turn The Page" is my favorite by him. But he had so many great songs especially in the 70's-80's such as "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man", "Hollywood Nights", "You'll Accomp'ny Me", "Shame On The Moon", "Mainstreet", "Roll Me Away", "Like A Rock", "Shakedown", "We've Got Tonight" etc.

The group name for the backup singers was The Blackberrys The Blackberries was an American female vocal trio formed in the 1970s. They were a backing vocal group for various musicians, as well as songwriters. They performed with various acts, including Pacific Gas & Electric, Humble Pie, Ringo Starr, and Pink Floyd and many others. Venetta Fields moved to Australia. She was one of John Farnham's backup singers.

The car is a 60’s era corvette…., and many times it’s brother Bob himself playing the piano. Very versatile musician! You are hearing the piano also not just an organ.

Most of my experience with Bob was via Mom's vinyl collection. Piano features so much in his music that I thought Bob was playing. Was shocked to see videos, later, and see him on guitar. 🤷‍♂️👍🏽

It's funny you mention hearing the song as a whole, rather than the seperate instruments. I wish I could hear music like that again. I'm a musician and once you're a musician, you can hear the intruments seperately, whether you want to or not. Your ear becomes trained. You can hear what instrument is make any particular sound. Kinda' ruins is sometimes. I wish i could hear it like you again. I remember hearing it like that. It was more enjoyable.

Couple Bob Segar tracks to still check out-if you haven’t- are: “Against the Wind”, and “Mainstreet”. While I know soft rock not your bag, I think you’ll enjoy these, two of his best IMHO.

Bob Seger...another good one, this is not one of his best but still not bad. You're good at picking the good ones! This was back when you actually had to have talent to be popular. Now the talented ones go unnoticed while the less talented make it big because they have money or "other" favors to offer. "Turn The Page" was only one of his good ones.

This song is not an epic but not a ballad either. It is still upbeat. Seger's best ballad is "We've Got Tonight". Very heartfelt and romantic!

This is a different kind of song and not meant to be "epic". Listen to or read the lyrics, the message and the rhyme scheme here though. It's one of my favorite Seger songs, of many. If you want an another upbeat classic rocker check out "Hollywood Nights" off this same album.
