The producer of this, Jim Steinman, is especially well known for producing this song, and all of the songs of Meat Loaf. He produced hits for Celine Dion, Barry Manilow, and I think a song for Barbra Streisand. He is very classical, his production is very bombastic and the videos are almost like watching a full rock opera. He had a very recognizable sound.

I STILL love this song too. I was 13 when it came out. The video tripped me out. I STILL think I can sing it😂😂😂 even tho I sound like a dying animal. Needing to be put out it's misery. 😂😂

This really is rock opera. Jim Steinman wrote this to be a centerpiece of a musical “Vampires In Love”. The lyrics make so much sense when you think about this being a vampire ballad. The musical never took off in the U.S. and Tyler turned it into a huge 80’s hit. Absolutely love this song- and have an unspoken dream to have Adele record it!!

What kinda lie...where did you get that story from??? She had throat surgery to remove nodules and was advised not to speak for six weeks. Then she damaged her vocal cords by screaming out of frustration during the recovery period.

We all hear music somewhere, but there is a diffence between saying " I know the chorus" to "yes I know the song" to the worst "iv never heard this before"

This was the main song used in the fabulous movie (one of my favourites), Bandits (Cate Blanchett, Billy Bob Thornton, Bruce Willis and Troy Garity) so all I can see when I listen is Blanchett bombing down the highway, tears streaming down her face, singing this song with with Bonnie Tyler on the radio. ❤️🫶🏼

Very operatic and over=the-top. In other words VERY Jim Steinman. Personally I always thought of her as a female Rod Stewart - vocally speaking. I'm surprised she and Rod Stewart never recorded a song together.
