When I hear this song, I'm suddenly back in my apartment in 1973, lying on the floor with a speaker on each side of my head (couldn't afford headphones!!) with this song on the turntable!! Wow, I miss those times...
Bread had many soft pop/rock songs in the 70's.. If; Everything I Own; Guitar Man; Diary; Aubrey; Baby I'm-A Want You; Lost Without Your Love; Sweet Surrender. David Gates (lead vocalist) had a solo hit with the title song from the movie "Goodbye Girl"
If sweet talk could sing, it' sounds like the great David Gates! You are now my favorite reactor. Always a smile on your face, a positive attitude and you play the music of my life!
Yes, react to Diary! Hardly anyone has reacted to that song, at least, in the way it deserves. You would give it honor--you always give respect and kudos where they are deserved.
When I saw you were going to react to this song I had to tune in. My girlfriend was 16 I was 18 when this song came out, it became our song as did Close to you by the Carpenters. 50 years later we still dance and enjoy this song. Thank you so much for reacting to this song. Keep up the good work that you do. Again, thanks.
Aubrey by Bread. Are we requesting songs by the same artist for a day or just regular requests? I missed the chat live. 😢 Anything from the Anthology of Bread.
One thing you are noticing with the late 60s and 70s these bands wrote their songs. They were so well done. They could sing. Play an instrument and wrote their music to sing or for other singers to sing...what an era i lived through.....
Best slow dance song. Was going to be the prom theme my senior year but the teachers thought the hook was too risqué. We ended up with JT You've got a friend. Great sing, TOO!
One of my all time fav’s. Bread is just one of those bands you can sit down in an easy chair and just listen and enjoy. Takes me back to better times. Loved your reaction. Love you!
*Everything I Own* & *Guitar Man* Yes another 70s band that you can pick anything and it's good. David's voice is 😍 I always listen to Bread along with America. Just goes together.
This is probably my very favorite song by Bread. Their genre of Soft Rock was so mellow and laid back. Wonderful to slow dance to, or just to chill. My teenage years were through the 70's, and I took it for granted, at the time, how great the music was. I look back now, and compared to other decades...I'm blown away. Thanks for your wonderful reaction to this.
I had forgot about Bread, I knew the moment the intro started. They are so wonderful to listen to sat in the garden relaxing on a summers day. I used to pur the radio on in the kitchen, take my little ones out into the garden and we would spend the afternoon listening to the music and playing. Thank you for some wonderful memories Jayvee for music was a huge part of my life and my families too. Take care and stay safe please my friends praying for peace for all Mary-Ellen UK
Being bingeing on these guys the last 4-5 months and this is my fave...was 2 yrs of age when this dropped and what a beaut, fantastic group - ''Baby- ima want you'' and many more.
1970's. What a time! I was 10 years old when this came out. My formative years in music. Haven't heard this in so long. Great track. Thanks for checking it out man.
I remember going on vacations with the family back in the day and hearing music like this song, Glen Campbell songs, etc.,on the radio cruising down the highway. I'll never forget that.
I just love the singers who sing so clearly and beautifully ,you know every word.No need to search out lyrics. Ambrosia,Bread,Foreigner..so many great bands and or singers came out around the same time. Our music cannot be beat.
I am a new subscriber to you. I absolutely love to watch your expressions when you hear the sweet magic that Bread creates in their songs. I was the same when I first heard them. I'm old, so it was a long time ago. It reminds me of the short time I had with my 3 1/2 yr old son Luke before he passed. Thanks. You make me smile. You are a beautiful person.
The 70s was a decade full of treasures. Musical and otherwise. I'm so happy that you're experiencing all this wonderful music for the first time. It's a joy to behold. Peace.
One of my first teenage loves...Bread 🧡 ...and I agree with your reference to Ambrosia. Love the 70's...the best music & song was made during that time.
You're right about the 70s. I grew up then and the musicians, singers and songwriters then make much of what passes for music today sound like rain on a window. Bread were wonderful, every song beautifully written and sung in that heartbreakingly sweet voice. We were so lucky.
I really look forward to seeing your reactions to all of these beautiful songs , a lot of them are in my record collection, so it's like sharing the music I love with a new friend
I'm reading all the comments and wholeheartedly agree with EVERY recommendation. Bread was one of my favorite groups when I was a young woman. ALL of their songs are dreamy and romantic. 💕
Love ALL genres....but BABY it is tough as shit to beat the 70’s!! Sooo proud of you for diggin it like I do...nothing makes my day more than to see someone else LOVE this music as deeply as me!! Rock on MY BROTHER!!!!! 😁❤️✨
I graduated in 1970 from H.S. with the music of the 60s and then came the 70s but looking back I must say the 40s & 50s with the Big Bands are my favorite music.
Just started watching your reactions, Love Bread, I am a lover of music of ALL kinds, so I can't imagine not having heard these classics before, but yes, Bread is amazing,... Now to binge watch your next reaction :D
Hey JAVEE... love you kids are finally gettin wit it☮️ I graduated in 1971...our class alma mater was WE RAISE HELL, WE HAVE FUN; WE ARE THE CLASS OF '71🎶🎸🎷
BREAD had (10) Top 10 & Top 15 Billboard hits and their hit songs were on 1970's radio on a regular basis for many years. (Did you know that the Music / Record business made more money in the 1970's than the Film and Sports industries COMBINED ~??!! There were whole tribes of varying artists of many genres {Rock/R&B Soul/Motown/Country/Folk/Pop/Blues-Rock/Singer-Songwriters/Funk} on Top 40 radio and AM rock stations throughout that decade. I was lucky to grow up during this era )~* ENJOY your channel ~ Thanks and PEACE ~*
