Tina Turner was one of the best PERFORMERS ever….in addition to being a fabulous singer. Her energy just pops out of the screen. She was the real deal and a total, professional. She gave each audience their money’s worth and then some.
This duet was done when Bryan Adams was riding high on the Reckless album and Tina had her Private Dancer album. Many hits from both albums and millions and millions of copies sold for each album. They both were on MTV often during this time. Great collaboration from two legendary performers.
she took him on tour with her, he said she taught him a lot about performing and life...she had Bowie on stage, too and he said ' standing next to Tina is the hottest place in the universe!"
Bryan is likely in the top 2 or 3 best selling Canadian artists world wide of all time. Shocked you haven’t heard of him. His library of hits is massive
Great energy in this duet! For Bryan A, try "Summer of '69" or "Heaven", and for Tina..."Nutbush City Limits" is still fire but, Salvo, your life is incomplete until you watch her live performance of "Proud Mary."
Tina Turner was a dynamic performer, and such a lady. And I do mean lady. Raw talent, pure class. These female performers of today can't hold a candle. She and Bryan Adams really hit the mark with this duet. ❤
I firmly believe that at one time, Miss Tina Turner could have sung a duet with a marble column, and it would have been amazing. She really transcended what it meant to be ... timeless.
Tina and her billion dollar legs!! 😍😍😍 These two were all over the airwaves in the 80s and it was a great time to be alive!! Bryan's song, Heaven, was my prom song, (yeah it's kinda embarrassing now but the ladies loved it). And I got lucky that night! So thanks for the memories Bryan, AND Ms. Tina!!!
Bryan Adams needs a playlist for sure .his 1991 song everything i do i do it for you was no.1 here in the uk for an absolute age (17 or 18 weeks i think). Summer of 69 is another good one .
More reactors NEED to discover this hidden GEM. Two powerhouse rockers at their very best. Bryan has a longggggggggg 50 year rabbit hole of music to go down. Biggest hits - Summer of 69, Run to You, Heaven, Cuts Like a Knife, Everything I Do - I do For You, Kids Wanna Rock........that's just to get you started. Enjoy the ride! Cheers from Canada
Oh man loved your reaction when Bryan came out on stage and started singing...I was like, "Yes, yes, yes, yeaaah exactly!!" He's just amazing...finally saw him live during his tour this summer and I swear he's gotten even better if possible lol. This was one of his classic songs performed with so much heart & soul. Tina Turner singing it with him is absolutely other level incredible 😍
Great reaction Salvo!! As a Canadian, Bryan Adams is a household name. For us he owned the 80's! Not entirely sure how you hadn't heard of him yet, but he is definitely worth a deep dive! This duet with Tina (RIP) was absolute FIRE!! This live version & the album versions are killer. Future ventures: Summer Of '69, Heaven, Cuts Like A Knife, Thought I Died & Gone To Heaven, Run To You, Do I Have To Say The Words...that should get you going! He does rock, ballads...and everything in between! Check it. Cheers!
Great song and the power and energy was electric. Some other suggestions for Bryan include One Night Love Affair, Run to You, Summer of 69, Heaven and Everything I Do
You have so much to discover.... Bryan Adams first and his "Everything thing I do"... And Tina Turner - Oh My - you have to see her live performances and you will be thrilled with happiness... And also have a look at her live duet with another legend David Bowie.... Professionals having fun
For a Bryan Adams test drive, start with the 1st 6 songs on the Cuts Like A Knife album. If you liked this one, you'll like those. The final song The Best Is Yet to Come is a nice ballad as well as prophetic. Reckless is next.
I was lucky enough to see Bryan Adams at the Day of Rock-n-Roll in New Orleans (I believe it was 1983) on his Cuts Like a Knife tour. He was with Zebra, Foghat, and Journey. We got to the stadium at about 9:00 in the morning. Zebra was first, followed by Foghat, then Bryan Adams. He was amazing. Of course, Journey was the main attraction and last to perform. They extended the stage when Journey performed, and we were center stage - close enough we could have grabbed Neal's guitar. One of the best concerts ever.
SalvoG, Bryan probably has about 20 big songs. His ballad "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)" was made for a popular Robin Hood movie in the early 90s. At that time, the song was the 2nd biggest song of all time. Only "White Christmas" was bigger.
More Bryan Yes! For a really great collaborative event, you should check out The Band's Last Waltz concert, in which they brought out, one by one, all the very diverse musicians and singers they'd played with over the years (they started at a backing band and just kept that moniker when they went out on their own.) Some fabulous gems! (I'd start with The Weight with the Staple Singers, so so good! Or maybe it's better to start with The Shape I'm In/Ronnie Hawkins as that's the first collaboration.) The video/movie captured the energy of it all really well and gave behind the scenes insights into the relationships.
Back in the day Bryan had to drive to the music stations with a copy of his songs & beg them to play them on the air. Now that’s a true musician who had doors slammed in his face but his music spoke volumes & he became a big star. Love his music.
There's a 1999 Tina song featuring Bryan, "Without You". They sang it live together on the show "Celebrate" (Tina's 60th birthday). They were actually close friends. Later in 2013 he sang at her wedding in Switzerland.
These guy's were such a great duo with voices that were seriously meant to sing together.... listen to Bryan's song run to you it is one of his best imo.
First hit, “Cuts like a knife”. First time I saw him was at…….drumroll please A JOURNEY CONCERT. He was their opening act. Check out Run to you, Summer of 69…
I’ve been his fan since the first time I heard him when I was 14. He’s a very talented song writer with an amazing voice and energy on stage. I’ve been to several of his concerts and met him in person. He’s a great person as well. Please check out more of his songs!
When I first got this CD I blew the fuses in my speakers several times (had 3 way speakers with glass fuses at that time). You just had to play this at max volume...
Oh yeah! These 2 performers really brought it, rocked it and left it all on the stage! Thanks for showing this! I saw Bryan in concert in 1982 in Philly and then Tina was the opening act for Lionel Richtie in 1984 also in Philly, when she was restarting her career. Individually they are amazing artists, truly brilliant! Together they are on 🔥🔥🔥
Brought me back to high school days. Adams was so good live too. Definitely recommend you explore his discography more. My favourite is Run to You. Also, in addition he cowrote the African Relief song with Jim Valance. You know, the Canadian response to the Brits’ Do They Know It’s Christmas and the USA’s We Are the World. Our group was Northern Lights and the song was called Tears Are Not Enough. Might check out one or all three for a snapshot of each country’s who’s who of the time. Cheers. And thanks for playing this.
Two legends. Glad you found Bryan, soooooo many hit tunes. I am sure you have heard them as many were number 1 hits and he is still playing today. And you mentioned chemistry, they became such good friends the Tina asked Bryan to perform at her wedding which was held in Tina’s backyard. Thanks for showcasing this song.
I didn't know about this duet! Epic! Bryan Adams is mainly known to me from his soundtrack for the movie 'Robin Hood prince of Thieves' ... 'Everything I do, I do it for you.' ❤
Thanks, I forgot this song existed! I love it, I remember when it first came out and I saw this, it was just Awesome! If you want another do Tina and Rod Stuart, "Hot Legs, it's electric!!
If you are going down the rabbit hole then you have to check out Brian Adams, Rod Stewart and Sting. All For Love. Brian is a Canadian treasure and his hits are mind blowing. I hope you check him out.
