Anpanman is a Japanese character in the late 1940s (post WWII) and who became popular in Korea in 1973. He had a head made from bread. He gave people parts of his head to eat and a baker made him a new one when needed. BTS is saying to eat/draw from them to heal yourself. When performed live in concert they have a huge, inflatable bounce-playground that is SOOOO fun to watch! This song is exemplary of BTS' love of ARMY. LOVE your reactions! Borahae 💜

Apanman ran from 1973 to 2013. The picture books debuted in Oct 1973, then came mangas a couple years later. The tv show began in 1988.

"pan" in Japanese and Korean is bread (came from the early Spanish explorers). Anpan is a sweet red bean bun. Anpanman's only super power is that he can give a piece of himself to help others. (That metaphor makes me tear up a bit.) The outfits the guys are wearing are what firefighters, EMTs, and first responders wear.

anpanman is a japanese superhero who has an 'anpan'/bean-jam filled pastry for a head. he is also referred to as “bread man,” as he saves starving people by letting them take a bite out of his head. the song sounds very fun but has a very deep meaning actually bts are explaining their attempt to save people by giving them a piece of themselves, their music. in this particular performance they dress up as fire men, road workers, artists etc while singing “i'm a new generation Anpanman” meaning these are our heroes that people usually overlook.

Unfortunately Anpanman doesn't have a mv but I think if you check the lyrics you'd understand the story better. The deep vocal you were curious about is mainly Jin and V. When you listen to other songs like Dionysus the very high note into the deep note is all Jin. I would not want RM to come save me he would kill me by mistake but I'd love him either way. Jin would definitely laugh at my misfortune and he'd just stand there eating while the building burns. I think JK would be the fastest fireman tho. C u soon Luke 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

yes, this is one of those BTS songs that are fun and catchy but has a deeper meaning about unlikely heroes and selflessness. Anpanman is a manga hero character with the head of an “Anpan”, a sweet bread roll most commonly filled with red bean paste. He is the world’s weakest hero as he doesn’t have any superpowers like Batman or Superman, but is a kind hero who helps those in need and gives to hungry people by pulling out parts of his head pretty much how BTS share themselves to their fans. This is about the world’s weakest hero, he can only offer up pieces of himself to heal and feed others. This is such an amazing metaphor for BTS themselves. They dress as everyday heroes like police firemen etc in some performances. It’s so sweet and fun but still deeply meaningful (a trend with them). I vaguely remember a post Covid online performance dedicated to the Drs nurses etc who are pandemic heroes. The song seriously slaps and live concerts they literally take a play break to sing while jumping on a huge series of kids inflatable slides and bouncer. I’ve never seen anyone else teach their fans by showing them it’s ok to play like they do. The duality in all the guys is off the charts. Expect the unexpected from Suga giving us sweet soft game music to Hobi in goth grunge. The genre is always BTS. Also they screw around a lot at the end of concerts there is a famous chase during So What of JK chasing V, because V dumped a bottle of water on him. Like full on laughing chase and didn’t miss a line. How they had the energy for a high speed chase at the end of a 3 hour concert I dont get.

Hi! Love this fun song! It’s about a children’s super hero that’s like a dumpling. He basically saves people by sharing himself with them and feeding them. V is primarily doing the waiting for Anpanman part.

BTS' lyrics are so profound and deep you will be surprised at how much you don't pick up without the subtitles. I would highly recommend adding ENG SUB to your searches or watching a lyric video as well as the live performance. Even then, if you go on to watch an explanation/analysis video your mind will be blown all over again 💜

Jimin actually changed it up at several different concerts and it helped keep their stage fresh. RM and Jimin had a lot of fun with that part on different nights and for the most part the members enjoyed it. The song is actually very precious to Army because they are offering up themselves as our support and telling us to lean on them to get through the rough bits. Maybe just check out Lyric Genius and read thru the lyrics before you watch if you feel a bit lost or at least want to know the right tone to strike when giving a reaction. It won't ruin your reaction to understand the intention of the song.

Anpanman gives people a part of him (his head) to save them, essentially sacrificing himself for others. The song talks about how they feel like they need to be these idols and role models, who give and give and give. And even through the hardships of essentially tearing themselves up for us, they are still willing to keep doing it because they know they help people. BTS are tearing off pieces of themselves to make us (Army) stronger. Asking for nothing in return (which isn't healthy or sustainable), just like Anpanman tears off pieces of his bean bun head to feed people, making himself weaker. Remember the lyrics saying " Keep secretly secretly getting covered in bruises, but ballin ballin still BANGTAN”. In an interview, Jimin said “Anpanman is the weakest hero in the world. He doesn’t have any supernatural power, but he’s a hero who tears off himself to give food to someone who’s hungry. We put our hearts in the song that we want to give our fans hope and energy, solely with our music and performances.” -from doolset I'd say Jimin and Jungkook, they're the most athletic of the members!

BTS songs that seem fun and bubbly on the outside, are usually their very deep and sometimes very political songs(e.g. "baepsae", "spine breaker", "am I wrong", "paldogangsan"). Anpanman is a very fun song but the lyrics are very meaningful and a little sad. "Anpanman" is a Japanese cartoon character and his name directly translates to "Bean Bun Man" as his head was made out of red-bean-filled pastry. He would take pieces of his head to give to children who were starving. That was one of his way to save the world and make a difference. Even though he would lose pieces of himself, it didn't bother him as much as seeing children starve to death. Taking inspiration form Anpanman, therefore, the song is about how one does not need to have amazing superpowers to make a difference in the world. It's about them conveying their desire as artists, to give people hope, happiness and strength through their music, contents and performances even though it may take up all their strength, hurt at times, is tiring and confusing at times and they may even lose themselves along the way. They also tell us through the song that they are afraid of disappointing us and letting us down as they want us to see them as heroes, which is sad.

i feel like Jin did just carry 2 extra huge watermelon on his shoulder shows how strong he is now. J.K. loves boxing and various work-outs, Jimin is a black belter damn!, suga just loves to sleep being refreshed may give him so much energy after a power nap he may still surprise us and he has been working out lately, RM is just bulking up thouse gorgeous damn muscles oh my!!! now and J-hope will make the rain stop and be sunshine-y giving us vitamin D in the morning. hehe. his sunshine just gives everyone a happy disposition and no one is in danger i imagine. Hi Luke, anpanman is one of my top 5 favorite b-side song. You should explore more of their b-side tracks. My number 1 favorite b-side song is Go Go. There is a part where RM passes a piece of Anpan to Jimin (4:13) and during the concerts, Jimin teases RM by hiding and running around the stage so RM ends up finding or chasing him hahaha!

@@ZariDV haha he did quite a number of times too. the one that luke showed was probably the second time where RM realized immediately and chased after him. but the first time, RM was really confused and flustered. there was one instance that RM just gave up that he ate the bread himself instead haha. there's actually a lot of their adorable exchanges, here's a compilation. The deeper vocal would be our one and only V. He has the most beautiful voice. This song performed at their concerts is so much fun, they really go loopy with it! It's never been one of my favourite songs of theirs but performed live it's so mental! I hadn't seen this performance of it before.

7:01 Namjoon does have a song from his 1st mixtape which is more rock style called Throw Away. The lyrics seem like absolute gibberish after reading the translation, like to this day I have no idea what he's trying to say, but it's a head banger regardless.

Apanman is Japanese cartoon that is also popular in Korea apanman is known as the weakest superhero in the world. His only superpower is to have a living head of anpan(sweet red bean bun) which he breaks off to feed people in need. However he has to keep having to replace his head as it doesn't regenerate. BTS is sings about how they will sacrifice to be their superhero like apanman. I believe that jungkook shaking the shirt represents all the superhero cartoons that show the superhero pose standing in a breeze.

I’m sure someone covered it already but Anpanman is a Japanese cartoon, and he is considered the weakest superhero because he has no actual super powers lol. He has an “Anpan” for a head which is a sweet bread. He’s essentially a pastry. He gives kids parts of his head to eat… But it makes kids happy or helps people in need. Anyway the deeper meaning is you don’t need to have superpowers to make people happy, and make a difference. BTS are essentially saying we have no actual power, but we have you, and with you we make a difference. You make us super heroes- whether we are or not. Clever, right?

Anpanman can fly, so in the beginning, JK is making V's shirt flap the way it would if V were flying. As they all bounce around with outstretched arms they imitate flying. Since Anpanman is a picture book hero, the stage usually is full of bright colors and lights and comic book style, or the playful bounce house. When they visited America, they did a really cool performance on the TODAY show. It's on a white set, great for seeing all the choreo. Their sky blue outfits look really sharp.

They compare themselves to the character Anpanman. they wanted to convey their desire to give people hope through their music and performances in the song. By comparing themselves to not the world’s strongest hero, but the world’s weakest hero, BTS stays true to their message with the idea that rather than being a hero just because you’re strong, you can be a hero even if you’re weak.

Anpanman is a Japanese character...sort of a superhero. If you take a closer look at their poses they are imitating posses of superheroes. Ao cute of them with their outfits and dance choreo.

You should react to Anpanman explained by BTS. Personally I interpret this songs that we can be super hero’s in someone else’s life. We don’t need to have powers to help others. Also any job even the ones people think are stupid jobs or jobs that are taken for granted (maybe like janitors, plumbers, fast food, waiters, etc) are all important jobs…. We all can be Anpanman’s to someone(s) life just by being ourself. If I wanted someone to save me from a burning fire honestly I would say Jungkook. He is atheletic and very strong….

Jin does a lot of silly things during shows! They all have a lot to pay attention to and keep track of so I think they sometimes don't even notice what is going on around them. All the members like to do fun things during actual bts concerts because that is their time with army and we are a family 🥰 they have to perform more seriously on TV shows and award shows, etc. And some TV shows make the backing tracks louder than their voices 🙄

Anpanman is a great party song. It’s even better in concerts. Just imagine this song blasting from gigantic speakers and filling the whole stadium. I loved the boys performing this during the Vegas concert in April. Idol is another awesome song to hear during concerts. I’m so glad that I was able to see them perform in person. I fell in love with this song, and downloaded the Anpanman cartoons for granddaughter. Great superhero for kids. The reason why Anpanman has been as popular as Mickey Mouse in Asia for decades. They made this shortly after the original creator died.
