I'm originally from Quebec in Canada, where she is from. She was a French singing star as a teenager - she sang for the Pope in 1984 at the age of 16 when he visited Montreal. When she released her English album in the 90s, she exploded. She is a Canadian treasure, we expect to be able to use her voice as a National Defense weapon if needed. 🤭🙃

You should check out her live performances! She's one of the few artist who sounds even better live!!! Even today she's still a vocal POWERHOUSE! 40 years and counting. Please check out "Power of a dream" 1996 Olympics. It's an AMAZING performance!

Celine sure has the pipes. She's one of those rare singers (especially now) who's this good live, too. This song's genre? It's basically a pop power ballad...slow, melodic, but also driving. Celine is one of the premier pop female vocalists of the past three decades. You can't really tell from her singing, but she is French-Canadian. I'll check what songs of hers you've reacted to and then suggest some for you to listen to that you haven't done...you clearly like her (not everyone does!), and if you do like her style her career has been long and her music is a real rabbit hole... It delights me to see you liking Celine's singing so much. I'm Canadian too, so like to see my "home team" get some love. (And as to Mariah Carey, she has the ridiculously tall upper register, but for power and richness that still goes awfully high, it's Celine you want to hear...)

The biggest difference between Celine and Mariah Carey is that Celine as à much more monstrous powerful voice than Mariah and Celine has much more stamina to sings the longest notes and by the way Celine genre of music music was in the category of pop music....it’s because everyone was listening to 7 to 77 years old for example Mariah is exclusively in r and b music witch is great but not the genre of every age of people listen to
