Just imagine both Chicago and Blood Sweat and Tears recording, hitting the charts, and touring at the same time! Overwhelmed with incredible music, had all the albums of both groups and went to many of the concerts of both groups. Many, many years later my ex and I went on a “date” to see Chicago together one more time. This song was certainly bittersweet. Fortunately, after 40+ years we are still friends. Thanks for reacting to this song.

I was 12 years old when this song came out and I was having my first serious crush and didn't know what to do about it. This song was in the background and for the first time I was beginning to understand what these kinds of songs were all about. I would lay on my bed and listen to this song on the radio and pretend I could say these things. Still reminds me of that pre-teen angst when your jumbled up feelings are beginning to come together.

This song came out a few months after my mum left my dad after 25 years of marriage. He waited years hoping she'd come back, and this song was his song for a while. Fortunately, he was able to move on eventually and find a new love to share his life with. Still makes me sad to listen to it.

So soft .So beautiful.Peter Cetera is so versatile. To sing 25 or 6 to 4 over that strong instrumental production ,and to do the soft stuff as well. Just shows their dedication and brillance. They are the ultimate group. Horns still came through in this one also.

Chicago was such a great band ~I won't :) There's a great song by them "Feelin' Stronger Every Day." I was a victim of domestic abuse (knocked down on a hard-wood floor) and spent a couple weeks in an abuse shelter, and had a concussion for 3 months. I heard the song not too long after I got home (the house belonged to me). I had never paid attention to the words of the song, but toward the end, it says: "The best thing that happened to you, was the worse thing that happened for me." That said it all. Happy Holidays JV :)

Chicago really slowed down their music but in a great progressive way as their harmonies and music arrangements became better than ever. Oh, and BTW. Thank you for correctly saying that they made a complete 180. I hate when people say that someone turned their life around by making a complete 360. Sheesh! That just brings them right back in the boat they started from.

The song spent 10 consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard 100 Easy Listening in '78. That's incredible since there was A LOT of competition. I adore Al's voice!
