Today was my B-Day, I have always had this weird thing were I try to do something cool for someone else, makes someone else's day. I had been asked a couple of times to react to Clown Core, so that is what I did. I reacted to 7 songs in a row, and quickly processed the audio, edited, rendered, and uploaded this reaction. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Yeah, with the extra talking cut out, if you were just listening it would be about 15ish. That is getting close to Punk Band song length. I would totally Green Light them for a 2 hour 45 minute feature.

It's so cool that you made the connection between Meshuggah and jazz! I had the same realization a while ago. I was listening to jazz on the radio while I was driving and I thought to myself, "Why do these grooves sound so familiar?". That's when it hit me. What I was hearing on the radio sounded like Meshuggah. Meshuggah is 100% a heavy jazz band.

I know this is from two years old, but there's this little jazz group called Immortal Onion that's pretty much metal jazz where Meshuggah is jazz metal. They're a lot of fun.

If you want to listen to the non-clowncore music these guys do then try the band "knower" with songs like "Time Traveler" and "Overtime". Or Louis Cole with the song "Mean it". It's these 2 guys with their band. It's amazingly good.

I listen to very weird music. Some stuff that would seem normal to most people, and there are some that people have a WFT reaction to. I am going to be doing something related to that on Thursdays. Where I show everyone one of my favorite "weird" songs. Thank you again.

OKAY! This took me a few times to see it. The Van itself is an instrument. The first time viewing I could see the rhythm of the brights on and off was not random. That is it's own beat would could be a replacement for a kick drum. What I hear this time i hadn't before is the clicking of what sounds like the turn signals. That also coming and going to add another layer. It's like sphongle or a group where you have all these layers going on and it somehow makes sense put together. Now I am seeing both the highbeams and that click being part of it. I had not known the album title was Van, there is your clue.

I picked up on the turn signal, but never mentioned anything, as I am the kind of person who when the turn signal is clicking I am adding other beats in with it, so it seems completely normal to me.

I got the Mask in the Collectors Edition too, and it is such nice quality. Sometimes I put it on with my Pirate costume, and become The Ghost of Tortuga.

@@CaptainFaceBeard That is badass! There's actually a doom metal band called Tortuga. They have a song called 'For Elizard' and it's about a lizard god who is jealous of the fact that Godzilla is more popular than him. I 100% recommend it.

Happy belated birthday! Never though of Meshuggah as "jazzy" before, but I can see what you're saying. If you've never heard Igorrr, give "Cheval" (with Travis Ryan from Cattle Decapitation) a try. Top tier musicianship smashed together. You'd probably recognize many of the collaborators on many songs.

Thank you very much. I think I have heard the name, but have never listened to them. Cheval is the French word for Horse. I have no idea why I felt the need to tell you that. I have added them to the list, will be awesome to check it out.

I had a few years of French way back when, but most bands Igorrr works with use an entirely made up language. He also uses beatboxing and piano-playing chickens, opera singers and death metal singers. Pretty much any sound and style you can think of.

@@CaptainFaceBeard "Chicken Sonata" and "Chicken Symphony" show that he can find a tempo and harmony to anything. "Sonata" won some GoPro contest years ago, but the "Symphony" has a beautiful chord change in the middle that I think makes it more impressive. "Vegetable Soup" was one where Patrick the chicken actually appears on a full album song. Genius level randomness.

I felt at home with it, because I listen to stuff that is odd like that. It is a lot to take in at once. The costumes, the humor, the 2 or more styles of music working with each other. It is far from main stream stuff. I can see people would have extremely different reactions to that band multiple times during the same short song. To quote Kevin Smith "Now were making art."

Cool, I will check that out. I haven't heard anything about Chainsaw Man yet, so it will be cool to check it out. Unfortunately, or fortunately (your pick) the image in my head when I think Chainsaw Man, is that he is a villain that Axe Cop has to fight. Axe Cop is so awesome. Honestly I want to do episode reactions of The Amazing World Of Gumball with Tim, cuz that show is so fucking deep.

@@CaptainFaceBeard I have read a bit of Axe Cop (the webcomic at least) and it’s pretty fun! I never got to read the Dark Horse releases or see the animations though. But from what I know I guess you could compare Chainsaw Man on the same level of craziness but turn the comedy into horror! What humor is there is pretty dark. And I absolutely love Gumball! It was one of my favorite shows back in the day when I still watched tv. They really dropped some truth bombs on kids. Also I love the mixed media art style.

@@CaptainFaceBeard nah my favorite of his characters is Turkish from snatch. After that, he's the same damn character Everytime. Which makes me believe it's just Jason Statham. He had hair in the one, the jet Lee movie, and then from snatch and lock stock, he was just Turkish. Death race, transporter, red, crank..... To this day though I would call Statham or neeson to fix it.

He'll get your daughter back, defend a farm, release a Kraken, try to bring balance to The Force, but ultimately get cut down too soon, be waiting for you in the closet (Narnia, and this one is killing me), he's good on a Train, a Plane, or a boat, and is such a badass, he still inspires fear with a Daisy sticking out of his Butt.

I'm kinda late to this but they have two (technically three) albums. Their first since they became more serious was Toilet (2018), all songs are of course performed in a toilet (adult swim even promoted Hell back then!) and Van (2020) is all performed in a moving van. They also have a random 11 year old self titled album that has no real theme or direction like the other two, but has a couple good songs nonetheless. Brendan Fraser is on that one. You should listen to all their music for sure if you're actually into it, they have some serious gems mixed in!

He's a great drummer and a pretty insane multi instrumentalist genius in general, when you said that you bet they each can play a ton of instruments you were right. Here's a list of some clown core stuff off all their projects that at least I think are highlights that you didn't already play, but with the music videos they're all pretty good content. SELF TITLED (2010): (All have a music video but the last one. I included Brendan Fraser again because you didn't see the video) Brendan Fraser, I ATE A LUNA BAR AND MY DICK FELL OFF (the one with all caps), diarrhea inferno welfare burrito Toilet (2018): (Entire album has music videos) Google Your Own Death, Truth And Life, The Area 51 Snack Bar Sucks Van (2020): (Entire album has music videos including Flat Earth) Song, Computer, Tears of God, Keyboard, You Are Pregnant, Existence, Flat Earth CLOWN COIN (2021): (Might also just be called 1234?? I'm not sure if this is even an EP or what it is. No music videos.) Pretty much all 4 tracks are cool.

Thanks. Out of all of the early reactions, this one gets the most comments, and I love that! We checked out some Knower, and some of Louis Cole's stuff as well. Who would have thought you could drop a Sax in metal that brutal and it works. It's all just distorted experimental Jazz.

Happy Birthday! Could you say on a blue eye that those were really first impressions? Often it feels like creators do their research before react videos. Edit: You put a frame with a music video over your face, prosecution steps down.

Most times I just go "OHHH Clown Core, that sounds fun!!" and do the reaction. Rarely I will look at a Wikipedia page for a band, but I usually am just looking at the basic info on the side. I don't want to know much about the music before I hear it.

Brendan Fraser shows Clown Core's roots a little bit, in "sax party music" bands like 2 Many Zooz and Leo P, which were a big deal a while back. Of course Clown Core has grown far past being party music, but the roots are still there if you know how to listen.

@@CaptainFaceBeard Well, you're in luck! The RU-vidr Rob Scallon did a cover of New Millennium Cyanide Christ by Meshuggah, and the the solo is done on clarinet. The video is called "Meshuggah on Shovel".

When you talked about Meshuggah and such, I was reminded of another band that fuses (or rather fused for a few albums) Black Metal and Jazz. The Shining (Norwegian band, not the Swedish band) with their Blackjazz album. If that is something that tickles your fancy, I would advise you to go with Fisheye or "The Madness and damage done". Also, I am guessing that you turned 44.

I totally did turn 44. That sounds awesome. That will be something I check out for sure. Because of their complexity Jazz and Classical fuse really well with metal. Also, a lot of guitarists that have gone to university for music, have all had to learn Jazz guitar, and some of them it sticks with in really interesting ways.

@@CaptainFaceBeard Shining started out as a pure jazz band when Jørgen Munkeby got accepted to study at the Norwegian Academy of Music. For some odd reason he had already booked a concert, but had no band. So he got other people that studied with him to form that band, and they had a John Coltrane and Ornette Coleman-inspired sound. So they played acoustic (and somewhat experimental) jazz for their two first albums. Their two next albums saw them blending in more progressive rock and metal. They did a tour supporting progressive (former Viking) metal band Enslaved, and got inspired by that. The programme committee of Moldejazz commissioned the two bands to write and perform a 90-minute work together. That work became the Armageddon concerto. Inspired by Norse mythology, doomsday cults, and science fiction, the music describes the end of the world, a following post-apocalyptic environment and finally a new beginning After that Shining fused in even more black and industrial metal into their sound. The two songs I suggested are from that phase. You might not enjoy them, but hey, reactions doesn't necessarily need to be positive. They played three albums in that vain before they mellowed down somewhat and went for a more hard rock influence sound.

The way you are describing it, it sounds like something I would like. I am a fan of Mr. Bungle, Primus, and Soul Coughing, if that explains anything. As well as a few other odd bands.

@@needfortweed8734 The name sounds familiar, but I don't think I have heard them. Soul Coughing is Slacker Jazz, he will sometimes repeat something, it sounds the same, but he changes the words. I am going to do a video with one of their songs soonish. Going to show people some of the weird music, or bands I don't hear people talk about.

@@voidmystic3419It's rare that a band reminds me of Mr. Bungle, but these guys do. If you are not sure who Mr. Bungle is, it would be as strong of a statement as saying that Radiohead is my generation's Pink Floyd. Which I honestly believe.

You should also try out primus if you havent already heard of them. Best bassist I think I've ever seen outside the disco funk days of the 70s. (Les claypool). I'm so glad I stumbled onto your channel earlier. Got an immediate sub.

Les Claypool is my favorite bassist of all time. There is a video where he does an acoustic version of Wynona's Big Brown Beaver where he plays a 4 string, that guys fingers are so damn long, makes sense why he is usually playing a 6 string. I am glad you stumbled onto this little channel too. It has been a lot of fun talking to you, and it's awesome to have people who are going to suggest the odd stuff.
