All of Creed’s music is an expression of of the players history and deep feelings, so it really means so much more if you know Scot’s history and all the band!❤️ keep listening!!
I haven't heard this song in quite a while. The first thing that hits you when you listen to a sentence of the song: it's clearly a reference to Christ and salvation. It's completely about being in the self-made prison of your own sin; how Christ paid the cost of our bail on a sad day; how he's the only one that can release you from that prison. No truer words ever spoken....😊
I’ve been listening to this song since I was a kid. As a grown man I’ve always just said it’s a great song. I never knew what I liked about it specifically but you nailed it. Took the words right out of me on your entire observation and conclusion.
Days Of The New - Touch Peel And Stand. I'm sure You won't be disappointed. If You love Acoustic guitar and bass this is for you. It was named, "Greatest of All-Time Mainstream Rock Song″ by Billboard magazine
Song #1 on Human Clay, Bullets. With the amount of production they could afford after the 1st album My Own Prison.... put your headphones on, crank it up and hit play. It'll definitely wake you up.
I’ve been a creed fanatic since their debut in 97. I was probably only 10yo in my elementary school jamming to my own prison Album. Ppl pay attention too much to the singles, which is where they judge off of. But they have some bad ass songs off all the albums. Soothing, groovy, heavy, metallic ect. In their prime, they were one best pure live bands ever. Nobody could belt raw baritone like prime Scott stapp. You gotta find an early live performance, just to see that guy perform and show what I exactly mean.
I believe the style of singing is called "Yarling". I may not be correct but my son told me that. I have heard people say that Eddie Vedder was the first one to do it. Again I don't know for sure. I love Scott Stapp's voice. I love the rasp when he uses it. The best part of Creed is the lead guitar , Mark Tremonti, by far. After Creed broke up they had Myles Kennedy to be the new front man. That guy can do it all. He can sing like nobody I have ever heard. He is also a master at playing guitar as well. The group became AlterBridge. I love them. They are the same 3 artists as Creed with Myles instead of Scott. Creed did some amazing songs. They have quite a list as well. I personally love "What If", "My Sacrifice", "One Last Breath",, and the list goes on. They did split but their music was excellent, In my opinion. Give their other songs a listen to. I don't think you will be disappointed. Then for sure listen and react to AlterBridge. You most certainly will NOT be disappointed there either. Thank you for doing a reaction the way I think they should be done. I also thank you for your honesty. If you do not like what you are reacting to you are so openly honest with your thoughts. Thank you Sir. 💗💗🎶🎸🎸🥁🎤🎤🎶💗💗
Honestly, what you should react to if you really want to get a feel for Creed is them doing their Live Practice session of the song “What If”. It’s truly a great way to really get the energy and passion of the music just from a live practice session.
This was breakout hit from their first album. It's my favorite song from them besides my sacrifice which would be good one to cover. I enjoy most songs from them.
Creed has harder, and lighter songs. So it depends what you like or if you want to check it all out. They have so many good ones. One of my favorites is “Hide”. It’s not on the popular list like “what If” and “with arms wide open” but his voice is oh so beautiful in this song! “Bullets” is a harder song I love it and “are you ready “
I adore your reactions and walking me down memory lane with some of these songs!! Has any song brought you to tears? Such emotion that you had to stop listening to absorb that feeling?
Scott Stapp (the lead singer), another tortured soul/musician. I love Creed, but my favorite song is “With arms wide open” a song Scott wrote when he found out his wife was pregnant.
I just came across your video and enjoyed your reaction to this Creed song. I would love to see you react to a band called Big Wreck, and the song is "Albatross." Big Wreck is one of the most underrated bands of all time... Ian Thornley is one of the greatest guitarists ever. I am going through your other reactions, and you've earned a Sub!
Love Creed. Good reaction video. I've got a band to refer. Drain STH. They got a video, Crack the Liar's Smile. It's an all female rock band from the 90's. The singer sounds like Layne Staley from Alice in Chains.
I’ve always been a big Creed fan. Got my ticket to see them in August. Pity For A Dime and Weathered are a couple of my favorites. Glad you enjoyed this one Polo.
This is one of my favorite songs by them. It is poetic mastery, and the lyrics depict a personal struggle fighting your demons, his demons, personal pain, inner hell and torment that we all contend with.
Yes, but did you miss the clear reference to Christ throughout? it's not just about his demons; it's about him being in a prison of sin that he needed freeing from. The "sad day" is the Crucifixion. 🤔
They're an amazing band and idgaf what anyone might say. I think you did "Torn", but I'd suggest "Ode", "Unforgiven", "My Sacrifice", and if you haven't heard "Higher" by now I think you could have been living under a rock lol An entire room will stop and sing it when it comes on even if you're not necessarily a fan, you can't help it.
Always liked Creed. I don’t have any issues with his voice or pronunciations. Sounds good to me. It’s a hard R sound. Other singers do it. Like Irish singers. Brit singers soften it.
This song got me into Creed. Loved them since early 1998, still do no matter how much shit my wife shoves my way. My Sacrifice and What If are great too!
I really liked Creed. They really broke out with Higher, which was in the movie "Scream"...she hits the boom box before getting in the shower. But I went to a concert with them, 3 Doors Down, and American Pearl and 3 Doors Down was the best. Americsn Pearl had a track on the Scream soundtrack as well.. The band was short-lived but good.. People accused Scott Stapp's vocals of ripping off Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam but I heard Scott Stapp first. Scott Stapp wrote a lot of Christian lyrics but Creed was not a Christian band and his bandmates were vocal about that. Then Scott Stapp went crazy. But. They are touring again with 3 Doors Down this summer. Aaaand....I evidently slept since then....looks like "What if" was on the Scream 3 soundtrack and so was American Pearl's "Automatic"
I was just listening to one of my favorite playlists on shuffle and up pops Alabama Shakes. If you haven't already reacted to *"Don't Wanna Fight" and "Hold On"* you won't be disappointed.
You reacted to another Creed song, Torn. I thought you liked that one, but I guess I don’t remember. Without a doubt though, as a couple of other commenters have mentioned, their best songs for you to react to will be “One Last Breath,” “Higher,” or “My Sacrifice.”
I’ve always put Creed in the “cock rock” genre… however now that I’m much older I think I did that because of the crowd that was always blasting it at red lights, and not for the actual music. I secretly liked it and just wanted people to stop over playing it/ killing it for me if that makes sense.
Creed is excellent. I'd have to go back through their catalog for recommendations. Scott has an interesting back story and they're songs deal a lot with spirituality. They've gotten back together thousands year and are supposed to have a new album out as well.
It's funny, I have been binging your content after discovering your channel just over a week ago. I finally got to your first Creed reaction last night and was thinking that I hope you react to another Creed song, and here it is. What a strange coincidence! "In America" would be a good Creed song to react to for the 4th of July... because it has America in the name and it is a good song. :) Any chance you will be reacting to some more folk music soon? In a few of your videos you mentioned you liked the O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack, and I think Gillian Welch, who was on that soundtrack, would be perfect for you. She was a great folk/americana artist and I think songs like "Orphan Girl" and "Annabelle" would be right in your wheelhouse. Thank you for your content! It's nice to see someone similar in age to me with similar interests and taste in music.
I need to hear more before I can settle on whether I would get a vinyl. I like the tune arms wide open and the base in this and some of the guitar work but just not all in.
The lyrics tell the story, and personally for Scott Stapp, who wrestled with drug addiction and mental illness finding redemption through God. He has also tried unaliving himself so a lot of his songs are about his struggles. You are always fair and I appreciate your honesty.
