Love you noticed no shoes but missed the fact that the drummer (Rick Allen) has only ONE ARM! Try an older one of theirs "Rock Of Ages", (P.S.: drummer has both arms in this one). He lost his arm in an automobile accident, he told the rest of the band to find a new drummer, they said that would not be Def Leppard, so they would wait on their friend to heal and re-learn to play.
Rick Allen, the drummer, lost his arm when he was 21. He'd been with the band since he was 15. At the height of their success, they waited until he healed and re-taught himself how to play. He has a special kit, in which his left pedal could emulate what his left arm could do. He still suffers PTSD from the accident to this day and sees drumming and painting as therapeutic healing for him.
How did you notice that the drummer was wearing no shoes and thought it was great but you never noticed that the drummer only had one arm and was killing it
Mr Clark, what a legend he was! Think he was with all at tonight’s gig in Sheffield 🤘🏻🎸🤘🏻Rick Allen had sadly lost his arm at this point. But you wouldn’t know🤘🏻🥁🤘🏻
If you watch the documentary on this album they say This song became a stripper anthem in the clubs in Florida and the. Exploded out from there. This became one of the most favorite stripper songs of the 1980s.
My favorite band since high school in the late 80s/early 90s and still are to this day. That tour and the subsequent tour (after they lost guitarist Steve Clark) were performed “in the round” where the stage was in the center of the arena and the crowd surrounding it. Those guys had to run and jump around the whole stage to get to all parts of the crowd. High energy music, fun, and great guys too boot!
One of the most triumphant stories in rock. The drummer Rick Allen lost his arm in a car accident when they were already popular and still gaining. They were pressured to move on without him but they refused to, and stopped until he healed, reworked a drum kit to be more foot friendly, and relearned how to play. Then...the band went on to create their biggest hits and became arena rock gods. TOTAL RESPECT. The song "Pour some sugar on me" is one of the greatest arena rock songs ever. When these guys formed in Sheffield England, they knew that if they didn't find a way to get out of town, they would end up working at the mill like everyone else. They also lamented the fact that there was no more good guitar driven rock bands on the radio anymore. It had all gone synthesiser soft rock and had no real meat on it anymore. The only other ol' school rock holdouts at the time were AC-DC. These 2 GUITAR ROCK dinosaurs, AC-DC, and Def Leppard created a hard rock spark that gave rise to the entire 80s arena rock era, and pre paved the way for other great guitar rock bands to follow such as Guns N Roses. Def Leppard's role in all of that cannot be downplayed.
