Diana's birth mother had been pregnant several times before Diana, but had terminated other pregnancies before Diana was born. When Diana was 3 years old, she was dropped off at a bus stop on a winter's day with a broken collarbone. Diana's biological aunt rescued Diana from the street but was unable to care for the traumatized child. Diana's aunt disclosed to the local prosecutor that Diana had been abused, and it was decided that the young Diana would be transferred to the Ussuriysk orphanage, which took care of abandoned young children. At the age of four and a half, Diana's speech was stuttered, and this, combined with other problems, was causing her speech to become extremely weak. Speech pathologists recommended that she be given singing lessons to improve her general speech and vocal skills. She quickly discovered that she loved to sing. Alexander Varnamov, the conductor of the city of Arsenyev, was the first to say that Diana had an extraordinary and very beautiful voice, as well as an excellent musical ear. He predicted that Diana would have a great future as a singer. Diana's trainers noticed her unique vocal abilities as Diana sang. Alexander Varnamov made an agreement with Elena Kazantseva, the head of the vocal pop ensemble "Zhemchuzhinki" (Pearl), to accept Diana as a collective. Diana also sang in the duet "Malinki" under the direction of Elena Kazantseva. Diana entered the Elegance vocal and choreographic school under the guidance of Anna Pekhtereva in the city of Arsenyev. Greetings from Scotland! Diana is 18yo currently but I've been following her since around 13yo. Diana is a natural Dramatic Contralto so the lower registers are her comfort zone but she now has a 4 octave range and it's increasing. Diana's birthmother had multiple miscarriages but when Diana came along, she seemed to hate her. She verbally and physically abused her, trying to drown her and belittle her. It all culminated when (at 3yo) she dragged her to a bus stop with a broken collarbone and abandoned her, saying "Survive if you can" A passing relative took her in but because she cried constantly (naturally with a broken collarbone) she took her to the authorities who removed Diana from her birthmothers care and placed her in an orphanage. For almost 2 years Diana never gave up hope and she knew that she was meant for something better. (This story is in her Wikipedia entry) Finally her new mother (Irina Ponik, who worked as a masseuse there occasionally) Signed her adoption papers and took her home. She vowed to pay Irina back for her kindness. Irina had a real struggle because Diana had obviously been badly affected by the experiences and at 5yo, she had a very bad stammer. It was recommended that she be taken for singing lessons to help this and immediately it was recognised that Diana had perfect pitch and an excellent ear for music and songs. 1 year later, at 6yo, Diana was performing solo on stage! This young unique phenomenon sang everywhere and anywhere she could, working constantly to earn money for the family who rescued her. Her voice is classed as a Contralto. Very rare. But to combine it that Polyphonic tone control is crazy. She sounds like more than one person is singing at two different pitches at the same time or some version of autotune pitch control at work.

Hi, How to describe Diana? For me, this performance shows off her vocal capabilities. But I don't connect with it. She is just somehow special... indescribable. Someone who worked with her spoke of his experience. He said that here is a girl, she sings well. Then she asks should I sing with emotion? He says that suddenly you are pinned to your chair. There is something that Diana does. It's like she channels the energy from the core of the Earth and then projects it outward. Many people focus on the sounds that she makes. The judge standing on the top row with the beard and tears in his eyes is Yusif Eyvazov who is married to Anna Netrebko, both well-known and respected opera singers who perform worldwide. What does it say about her performance if she could move him to tears? You must watch her sing Rechenka at 15 or maybe Wicked Games.

Ah, somehow I thought you two had watched Diana before. Crazy that she's only 18 or 19 but has sounded like this for years. I believe her adopted mother used singing as a way to draw her out of the shell that abuse from her biological mother forced her to retreat into.
