Roswell fans unite! This song was the theme song/opening credits song for the show Roswell. It was a WB show in the late 90s/early 2000s about teenage aliens living in Roswell, New Mexico that were descendants of the 1947 crash. It was sci-fi mixed with romance in a high school setting that worked really well with the themes of alienation. Go watch "Roswell Season 1 opening credits". Maybe you'll end up reacting to the show, it's kind of a cult favorite. So yes Asia, you were absolutely right about it being on a soundtrack. It was for the show Roswell. And the song is awesome!
Very good show that was. Katherine Heigl and Shiri Appleby and couple of dudes who's name I don't remember. One the them dudes was later in Criminal Minds. And Tom Hanks' son Colin.
The TV show Roswell that started in the late 90's and lasted a few years, this was the show's beginning soundtrack. Starred Jason Behr and Shiri Appleby.
Oh man! I think this is one of her first songs that she came out with outside of her collabs that she does with other artists. My Mom is a fan of her music, especially this one. I'm going to have to go back and watch your other Dido reaction vids. But, yes she's a unique artist with a unique voice. Great reaction y'all!!!
Her song "Thank you" was sampled by Eminem for Stan (with her permission) and then Dido agreed to be in the video clip for the song with him which with Rosewell helped break her into the US. Also, her brother Rollo is a very talented producer and part of the electronic group "Faithless". White Flag is my favourite track.
Once again.....my fave 2 just nailed it. This song and most other Dido got me through so many...sleepless...stressful nights in the Army...especially far from home. She literally was a balm on my soul. ❤❤❤❤❤ Both of you!! You guys get it. Hope ya'll are well!!
I listened to this song on repeat for a while. Its amazing at an obscene volume. Such a gorgeous song. This whole CD is great though. Every song is worth a listen. I cannot express how much I love this song. Soo beautiful. Ive heard her explain this song as the morning after being with your lover for the first time. The feeling of not wanting to moment to end. Of wanting to stay in that bliss of new love. But, like all songs, you can interpret it in any way. I also love "My Lovers Gone" and "Take My Hand". I never watched it, but I think this song was the theme song for the TV show Roswell.
A very similar song from the same era is "African Air" by Kemopetrol. That band is from Northern Europe so that song is definitely not as famous. But it's still quality. Others to sample by them is "Saw it on TV" and "View on the Sea". Their most successful song is "Child is My Name". They're also great songs for singers like Asia to perform and make their own versions of.
I agree with some of the recommendations for reaction videos being “Life for Rent” and “White Flag”, both great songs but “Give you Up” which was released in 2019 needs to be on the list also. Lots of Love being sent everyone’s way 🙏
I am really enjoying your channel and love a lot of the music you're reviewing. Dido/Here With Me, White Flag, Don't Leave Home, See The Sun, If I Rise; all very wonderful and powerful songs. I would love to see your reactions to Sarah McLaughlin's song called "Answer", Path of Thorns, and Loving You Is Easy.
Asia I love you. BJ I love you. You two (internal conflict aside) give me so much hope. Soooooo authentically black, charismatic, joyful, and united. I’m a license therapist in DC & Maryland & i take you twos energy and transfer it into “ideal couple success.” We all know that’s subjective but your twos energy pop out of the screen. Asia - if you have a sister 👀. BJ I’m a Jags fan if you’re ever at a game or in DC drinks on me. 🫶🏿♾️
Love when you review old school Hip Hop. If you want a song that will blow your mind but have incredibly difficult time understanding the words. You should review Ring The Alarm - Fu Schnickens
One of my all time favorite songs 😍 The build throughout is just so engaging and like you were saying BJ, just draws you in and doesn’t let go. Seconding the Life for Rent and No Angel album shoutout from another commenter as well. Early 2000s staples for me, along with David Gray’s White Ladder album. Thanks for this reaction! : ) Edit: this song was in the movie Love Actually so maybe that’s what you’re thinking of Asia.
I don’t wanna take the wind out of anyone’s sails, because this song is beautiful. But who is this “Da"? of which Dido speaks ? Because apparently Da won’t go Da can’t sleep Da can’t breathe Da won’t leave Da can’t hide & Da cannot be… until she’s resting there with them. Now you won’t be able to unhear it. You’re welcome.
Hey good to see you're playing real music.. here is a talent that is over looked.. her name is tamyra gray ..a song is (good old days ) tamyra is a singer so g writter
I've watched lot's of your videos, I didn't know you were in the Dallas or DFW area, whatever you call it. I'm up in Princeton, would like to grill up sometime.
