well, I got crush for Terry's drumming, when I witnest Man live somewhere 1972 - 73, the drumming was just on point with everything. Well nostalgy or not, one of the top 5 gigs i've witnest and i've seen a few in my time.

Sultans of Swing was the band's first major hit in 1978. Their live performances are always spectacular. The story behind the song is in the lyrics they were in South London and walking back in the rain to the place they were staying Mark Knopfler (guitarist and vocals) went into a bar where a band was playing to just a few customers. They did their best to entertain the smalk crowd who were disinterested. The barman rand the time bell to signify the bar was stopping selling beer. The singer said "Good Night Thank you now it's time to go home. We are the Sultans of Swing." Every number they perform tells a story and Mark narrates the story in his lyrics. Only 2 members of the original band are in this line up Mark Knopfler (Lead Guitar & Vocals) John Ilsley (Bass Guitar) American Hal Lindes (Guitar) Alan Clark (Keyboards) Guy Fletcher (Piano) Terry Williams (Drums) An amazing drummer he played with Dire Straits from 1982 to 1988

The studio version of this is one of the best songs for cruising. It's nice that you enjoyed it so much. What I love about this clip is how much fun they're having. Making a living like that wouldn't suck. Shout out to the production crew. The filmography of this LIVE concert is incredible.🤩

I'm so glad you are shutting out the drumming in this, it's so damn good. And also, you should check out the original audio album cut of this, it's what we heard on the radio and ran out and bought on 45 RPM singles and then later on eight-track cassette if they were still around but for me mostly 33rpm record albums. But I had this one as a single and I played it so much. I'm a guitar player myself and a multi-instrumentalist but I sure do love the drums on this I really do. Glad to see you rocking out to them, smile.
