My First Time Reaction to DISH with his song Neko wow! We have been exploring and reacting to some of the performances from the First Take RU-vid channel and all of you have told me that every video on that channel is worth watching so I figured we had to start at the top with DISH Neko Cat one that has been highly recommended! @@TeaRexInACup As for me I see the song try to tell some kind of story about someone who just lose their significant others not long ago that's why in the beginning of the lyrics its keep telling that the guy hope today to just swallow him whole and tomorrow never come ...It also talk on how he tried so hard to forget his signoficant others but its impossible and then One of the sentence in the lyrics which is "I believe now you have become a cat" it kinda tell me that he tried to cope with that lost by believing that his signifacnts others has become a cat that he probably just met thats why he said lets go home..

Omg, I reccommend reacting to Yuuri's songs on The First Take too! He has 5 of them, but my personal favs are Shutter and Betelguese. Another other two are Kakurenbo and Dry Flower (which supposedly is like a sequel to Kakurenbo). The latest one so far is Leo, which is honestly one of the most emotional ones I've heard, especially because it's about pets. Yuuri just puts so much grit and feelings in his singing, it's insane.

The lyrics of this song may be quite poetic. He sings about how happy he would be if she left him and wandered back to him like a fickle cat😺 The First Take channel is a great place to see artists of all genres. Sometimes, appearing on this channel can make the artists more popular than ever😁 Sometimes the songs with the most views are chosen as the most popular songs of the year. Anyway, I think you will find many more unique artists👍

In fact, this song is another song written by Aimyon, another singer-songwriter, after watching the movie "I Want to Eat Your Pancreas" starring Kitamura Takumi. So the lyrics of this song is to hope that the heroine can come back to him like a cat, so that he can be happy again

I'm glad that you check out DISH! They're one of those best bands in Japan as well. I love listening to them. And btw, Takumi is not only a vocalist but he's also a popular actor in Japan, ngl, he's sooo great in acting like his emotions 😭. He showed in some popular anime live-actions like I want to eat your pancreas, Tokyo revengers (being the main lead) etc. He's so talented!! Better to check out more about DISH!!

I've listen to Neko by DISH// a lot of times; to what I concur, it's about a person and a loved one (girlfriend, close friend or family) that's now dead or just broke off relationship.

I remembered there has been a mistake done before for Kana-Boon x Necry Talkie song where the male vocalist sang the wrong lyrics towards the end. But that makes it just more awesome cos it’s so natural.

Thank you for your wonderful videos. THE FIRST TAKE is a one-shot shoot, so every artist shows a wonderful performance. My recommendation is YUURI's “Leo”. This song tells the story of a dog and a girl, written from a dog's point of view. It's a message from an animal and a song that has never existed before, but I'm really drawn to his song's expressiveness and ability to convey it. Please listen to it.If you watch the MV after that, I think you'll understand more.

It's the first take and the only take. I only knew of one mistake that has happened there. It's KANA-BOON (Maguro Taniguchi) × Necry Talkie (Mossa) - Naimononedari / THE FIRST TAKE. When I 1st watched dish's first take vid i knew about the band bec. Of my hero academia but i have no idea that the actor (watched him in I want to eat your pancreas movie;weird name GREAT movie) Takumi Kitamura was the singer!!!!! I was looking at the vid and in my mind I thought he was just doing a cover of the song!🤣🤣🤣

Hi huge fan of him and his band here. This song is based on book/movie called “I want to eat your pancreas” which he played the leading role and won Rookie of the year at Japanese academy award. Neko means Cat in Japanese. And this song is about losing someone special. The writer metaphor the one as a cat. This song released on 2017 but no t famous until the first take. After this vids came out, the song got viral. DISH//(the band)is now on tour with the newest album. They rock too so hope you’ll compare with the song called “seagull” or “rock’n roller” !!

The First Take has to be one of the coolest RU-vid channels! I love just going and watching things I have never heard of on there and they are always great. 2 songs I'd really recommend checking out on there are Mika Nakashima, "boku ga shinou to omottanowa" (long name, roughly translates to "The Reason I Wanted to Die"), and My First Story also did one of their songs, ハイエナ (Hyena). I also think there's just something about this song that puts a smile on your face! Even though the lyrics are a bit sad, his voice and the melody feel like being happy/smiling even when something sad is happening. Also, just my interpretation of the cat part- I think of it like the way a stray cat might be shy or run away or be distant, and referring to someone being like a cat in the way that they might be distant & afraid to come close but that he still cares about them anyways? When I first heard the song I looked up to see if there any metaphors or idioms involving someone being a cat but I didn't find anything that made sense so I had to come up with my own idea 😂

Great reaction. One thing that I love in this performance is his emotion during singing this song, maybe because Takumi Kitamura is also actor as well. Also, I would like to recommend a Japanese Singer named Aimyon to you. She is the artist who also wrote this song to DISH//. She may not have been in THE FIRST TAKE (She's not from SMEJ) but her songs are really nice. I recommend you listen "Marigold", "Her Blue Sky", "Harunohi" and "Naked Heart".

Yes! I LOVE The First Takes channel. It’s so good.! You must do Yuuri next! You will be blown away by his vocals. I call him the Prince of the First Take because he literally has like 5 songs on there and they are all amazing. He’s one of my favorite singers recently. You can’t go wrong with Dried Flower or Betelgeuse.

The original story is about a couple, the girl was dead in an accident, and the boy kept her in memory for so long. One day he saw a cat went by, and thought of his girlfriend. He wished that the cat was her, that finally came back and made his life colorful again.

This song compares a lost lover to a cat. He(Takumi Kitamura) is a musician (vocalist in a band), but he is also an actor. A famous singer-songwriter inspired by the movie he starred in wrote this song for him. There are many other wonderful Japanese musicians on "THE FIRST TAKE". There are young talents, and there are also veteran singers with much higher singing skills than Kitamura. However, his voice in this video is very attractive, and I think that the reason why he shakes our hearts is his youthful innocence and passion. I love your reaction videos! By the way, Hiroyuki Sawano, the ost composer of "Attack on Titan", appears in "THE FIRST TAKE". It's an outro song for another animation, with piano accompaniment in that video. @@zoisekai It's a very strange title, but the title of this Japanese movie has exactly the same meaning. Based on a novel written by Yoru Sumino, it was made into a movie in 2017 starring Takumi Kitamura, and an anime movie in 2018.

If you haven’t already should seriously check out some music by Galneryus. They are freaking EPIC! Songs like Hunting For Your Dream, Raise My Sword, and Angel Of Salvation are some of the best. They have a mind blowing vocalist and guitarist which really set the mood, it’s honestly shocking how good they are, I think you’d love it

The English translation is not doing the beautiful Japanese lyrics any justice. The song was written by Aimyon, a female Japanese singer-songwriter for DISH which is the band this guy is in. Her songwriting skills are through the roof and there's actually a lot of wordplay going on in this particular song. To take on example, at 3:04 when he says "wasureteyarusabaka" which means "I'll just forget it", he then continues with the word "bakashii" that has the same "baka" part and baka means stupid. Also, at 5:37 he says "omoshiroi gurai ni tsumaranai" and the literal translation ends up being "it's boring to the point of it being funny" which adds to the playfulness of the words in this song. Btw, definitely check out Aimyon too. She's the type of talent that can whip out a guitar and write a song just like that.
