It's impossible. I got their greatest hits album for my 21st birthday in 1979. I'm a rock lover but they turned me on to this sound. Love love love them.💙❤💙❤✌✌🌻🌻
the minute this song comes on at any event-dancing is a must. I think it's been played at every wedding, Christmas dance ect that I have ever been to and I am over 60. GREAT song! BJ-you are rocking it!
In 1981, I was in the Navy and overseas on a ship. I had a Sony Walkman and an Earth Wind & Fire Greatest Hits tape......can't tell you how many nights I sat out on the deck and listened to it....awesomeness!
I know the feeling Dennis. I was a kid around that time. But, I heard this song for the 1st time at my bedroom fire escape window on a boombox radio and I went crazy. I almost fell off the fire escape dancing on the steps of that window. Luckily at the last second I held on to the ledge and that saved my life. That's how hard this song hit me when I 1st heard it.
BJ sitting in that chair getting it in. This is what music used to make you feel like all of the time. Never felt like calling someone out of their name or fighting after listening to it. Great reaction! How y'all doin'?
Who doesn't like this song! Much love to the era of dance music that's no longer around! Tell BJ he was nodding his head and I was doin' the same thang!
My favorite band of all time. My mom brought us boys on this music. I brought my boy on this music and now my boy is bringing his kiddos up on this band. They are amazing. One of a kind. Never happen again. Special.
When I see the costumes they wore I can't help remembering the clip with Philip Bailey and Phil Collins duet when he brings out the costume. So much fun.
They were and are a great show band. They did a fantastic rendition of "Got to Get You Into My Life" by the Beatles. It's a must see when you get the chance.
There was no way you could stay in your chair when an Earth Wind and Fire song played. I can remember roller skating to this as well. Friday nights at the roller rink "Wheels". I am up on my own dance floor kids. Thanks for the funky flash back. Canadian Grandma Lori. C.
One of the most talented groups of the seventies and eighties. The fun they were obviously having was infectious. Great brass which was rare in rock or r & b bands.
Their live shows were a spiritual experience 👍🙏 incredible talent and theirs performance was equally extraordinary. Hall of Famers. Legends. ☺️ Love you two 💕
It truly is amazing how music can take you back. I remember hearing this a lot from my oldest sister along with a lot of Disco stuff like the Bee Gees, KC and the Sunshine Band, ABBA, or anything you could dance to. I heard most everything though as I have 6 brothers and sisters and of course, parents and each of us had different tastes in music. There was always a wide variety of music going in the house.
Beyond top shelf group...even after all these years I'm still overwhelmed by their talent, and Verdine White's bass lines are their own melody. Chills!
I was lucky enough to see the horn section when they toured with Phil Collins Face Value album. Let me tell you, they came out in fluorescent pink zoot suits, including matching hats, with fluorescent green ties. Those guys stole the freaking show! They are incredible!
And never will again. I don't know why our generation was blessed with such music, but I'm glad I lived long enough to appreciate we were and the bond it created amongst us all.
The 70s man! The 70s! That was the peak of pure talent and such diversity in expression! Bowie,Quenn, lou reed,Black Sabbath,Abba..the list goes on and on.
These are real artists in every way. I miss the artists of the 60's and 70's, but then of course I would be, I was a teenager then. Wow, I am one lucky guy to have experienced all this great music in real time .
Such a great band - such a great song! Love it! BRAVO!!! You're right, today there are almost NO bands that could pull off a live performance of this calibur.
I saw them at the North Sea Jazz festival in Rotterdam. That is the world's largest indoor music festival (I think). There were 13 stages and others like Stevie Wonder, Nas & Damian Marley played. By a LONG SHOT, Earth Wind and Fire we're the most energetic and best act to see there. The Bass player never stopped moving for their whole set. To this day, my favorite group to see live.
Had the privilege of seeing EWF in the 80's. Their energy was amazing,. Two hours and three encores ( we wouln't let them go!) Thanks for bringing back the memory x
Love Phil's voice! We disco danced to EW&F and loved it when their songs came on. Dresses and 6 inch heels being guided around the dance floor. Such fun, do the Hustle. lol 💖
Earth, Wind and Fire is one of those groups which brings back great childhood memories for me. Their music often emanates from hatches on my boat, or speakers on deck, to this day. Feels good. BTW, BJ has that chair dancing down and Asia your smile brightens the day.
One of the greatest songs of all time, imo. And I'm a rock n roller from way back. This song is just too incredible. SHOUT OUT TO POPS, BJ SR. You have a very fine son, sir. ✌🏼✌🏼
Late watching this one, but so happy you reacted to it. I was dancin with you BJ! This song brings back happy memories of my dad. He raised me on EW&F, the Commodores, Teddy, Donny Hathaway, Aretha, etc, and sadly, they don’t make music like this anymore!
I sometimes get teary-eyed seeing this, because I wanted to see them live, and I kept putting off, then Maurice died. Same with Rush, and Neil. Our fav bands are not immortal - see them ASAP.
I saw these guys at Jazz Fest in New Orleans years ago. One of my favorite all time live concerts. Yeah they can flat play those instruments and are very entertaining. They sound just as good live as their recordings which a lot of bands can't do. Maurice White is one my all time fave voices. Phillip Bailey (high singing guy) did a song with Phil Collins from Genesis "Easy "Lover"
Saw Earth, Wind and Fire live here in Seattle. They sounded like a 50,000 watt stereo.... just like their recordings....only better! They were FABULOUS! LOVE them!
I had a pretty good album collection back in the mid-70s. EW&F's All 'N All was one of them. I recall September coming out. It wasn't a R&R song, which was my music roots once I entered the teen years, but I have always loved music - genre be darned. [ I had albums ranging from rock icons like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd to pop artists like Michael Jackson and Joe Jackson. ] But September took us all by storm. You would see hip dudes with their long hair blasting this song from their car stereos. I remember shooting baskets when this song came on the radio [ which I always had with me ]. Participating in my 2 favorite activities - basketball and music. " The Best Of Earth, Wind & Fire Vol. 1 " is a must own album.
When my mother found out she was having a baby due in September she played this song, when I found out I was having a baby due in September I played this song. Maybe some day my son will have a child in September….and play this song😍
