Elton is one of the greatest musicians/pianists of all time, and has countless hits spanning decades (and has actually made some new collaboration songs on the past couple months). I suggest “Rocket Man” for a start.
Finally Sir. Elton John Tiny dancer and rocket man Are also great he has a great catalog of music cant wait to jump down the rabbit hole let's go......
Dude, this is the original! You need to check out more Elton John songs! Any covers that you’ve heard, they’re just that covers! This man is the real deal!
I saw Elton in his prime! 1976 bicentennial tour. I was 16. It was amazing! I can't tell you how many costumes he wore!!!!!! Listen to Funeral for a friend/love lies bleeding in my hand. There is a live version from the 70s.
@@TheMike_I when i saw him Todd Rungrend opened for him. Elton came on standing on top of a piano dressed as the statue of liberty. Im only 4 years older than you. Wasn't the 70s the best????
@@donnagonatas3155 I don’t remember who opened but will never forget him dressed as the Statue of Liberty 😂 and he did Don’t Go Breaking My Heart with Kiki. were you in NYC?
Saturday night's alright for fighting, I'm still standing, and rocketman are a few more to look into. Also don't forget the one about Tony Danza (tiny dancer).
The very first time I learned of Elton John's existence, was this song. It pulled me from one end of my house to the other side because of the beat. He is my favorite singer after Michael Jackson.
You're killing it my friend! Elton is the real deal! -Rocket Man -Tiny Dancer -Your Song -Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me (alone or he also collabed with George Michael) -I'm Still Standing -I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues -Daniel -Someone Saved My Life Tonight -Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding -Good Bye Yellow Brick Road -Philadelphia Freedom -Don't Go Breaking My Heart (w/Kiki Dee)
fictional bands/alter egos have been a popular theme over time. beatles dgt pepper. fictional band for a movie. pink floyd. at one time, anytime someone did an interview with roger waters, they were talking to pink. early 90s U2. bono was the fly. garth brooks was chris gaines for a while. sometimes went hand in hand with concept albums. sgt. pepper, the wall. concept albums, album art, hidden tracks, back masking. all things i miss very much about music of the past. some do it now but more of a novelty. bands would compete then
I grew up in the 70s. Born in 1960. The 70s were the absolute best!!! We had the best music, drinking age was 18. I smoked cigarettes infront of my parents from the age of 16! I started at 14. Back then it was no big deal! We all got along for the most part. I think mainly we were all listening to the same music! Black, white it didn't matter. And so we all got the same message. And yes alot of the music was about drugs but it was also about peace and love and anti war......any way we had a blast!✌❤
Exactly the same. Turned 61 last Wed. (HA! I typo'd that to 51...nice try huh?) Is there anyone Eminem didn't "sample" from? Or proven to steal in the case of Queen?
Bruh. This man is nothing short of a master musician. I've seen him in concert 4 times and he NEVER disappoints. Ever. His career is so long and his catalog of music is so huge I wouldn't even begin to know where to begin recommending more songs. Oh what the hell. Below are a few of my personal favorites, but trust me when I tell you that barely scratches the surface. Love live Sir Elton John!! Tiny Dancer Levon Goodbye Yellow Brick Road Your Song The One Daniel I Guess That's Why They Call it the Blues
There are a lot of songs that you might not understand the lyrics but the vocals are just another instrument. It’s still a great song and you make of what of it what you will regardless of what other people get out of it.
Wow this was released in 1973, yikes I was 14 and a freshman in high school. Elton was British pop master artist. He just kept getting better and better. Elton and the piano, like no other artist. You have a pantheon of in incredible music to explore. Have fun! Eminem did make some comment years ago about Elton being gay but I saw Elton do an interview and they are really good friends now. So everyone grows up and moves on. At least... we used to.
Eminem and Elton John are actually pretty close friends now. Elton has a great story he told on The Graham Norton Show about the wedding gift Eminem gave to him and his husband.
Love Elton!! He has so many Great hits! He is also the longest I`ve ever waited on a concert..was supposed to go last year in May(me and my bf was going because we both have birthdays in May) needless to say a pandemic happened..so it`s been postponed to next April. So yeah almost 3 years for a show, but I know he will be worth it and we already bought the tickets, lol, cost us $850.00 for both of us...yes please do more.. Someone Saved My Life Tonight and Little Jeannie are two of my faves but you can`t go wrong with any..Keep On Rockin`
It went to number on Urban Contemporary WJIB in Detroit which was programmed by Donnie Simpson before he moved to Washington, DC and turned WKYS around.
A Standout In His CatalogWritten by and longtime collaborator Bernie Taupin, it's about a “weird and wonderful” fictional band, told from the perspective of a fan speaking to friends Candy and Ronnie. It all began with seeing Taupin's lyrics while he was writing for GYBR.
Man if you like Benny and the Jets, try these Elton blues/rocker types: Philadelphia Freedom, Take Me To The Pilot, Border Song, Madman Across The Water, My Father's Gun, Rocket Man, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Grey Seal, Tell Me When The Whistle Blows, Boogie Pilgrim, Simple Life, Amoreena, Burn Down The Mission, Indian Sunset...
Eminem and Elton are friends bro. Elton helped Em get to grips with his addiction issues. And defended Em when he was getting grief from people saying he was homophobic and stuff x
Something that reminds me of Elton John, one time I was watching a video of these white people singing Cirlce of life from Lion king, and people in the comments talking about it’s rude/stupid for white people to sing it, and I’m like tf a white person wrote the fucking song and that person was Elton John
