I love Elton! My Best friend and I were supposed to go last year for our birthdays but because of the pandemic, it has gotten postponed until next May, lol, this is the longest I`ve ever had to wait for a concert but I can`t wait! My fave by him has always been Someone Saved My Life Tonight! Please react if you can :) Keep On Rockin'
Candle in the Wind is another of MANY of his great songs - which he played and sang, with a few changes, for the funeral of Princess Diana - that would have been when you were 2 years old. He is awesome on the piano - he & Billy Joel should do a duet - dueling pianos. Great reaction.
Bernie Taupin wrote all of Elton's lyrics. He wrote this when he got frustrated with the rampant drug and alcohol use that Elton was going through. He left Elton, and Elton would so check in to a rehab facility. Thank God they got back together when Elton was able to start making music again.
Hey Devin, you have some rabbit hole to explore with Elton. Now, he is an icon and has written some of the greatest songs of our time! Crocodile rock, Your Song and Rocket Man are a few you can explore. You definitely will not be disappointed. 👍💯
@@miamidolphinsfan I would love for Devin to do a reaction to Sir Elton's "Funeral for a friend ". That song gives me goosebumps till this very day. It's like almost 10 minutes long but the anticipation is well worth it. Absolutely a true masterpiece. 🔥❤
Devin love your reactions to the music. I was a teenager in the sixties a lot of these songs take me back to Belfast and the great music we had .Molly now 74 .
Tiny dancer, your song, etc...long long list. Please continue.. the Queen of England gives their artist that have made their mark on the world. Elton, Bee Gees, etc.. Sir. Crocodile Rock is another great one...
"Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", a double-record album, is one of the best records of the 1970s. It was released 50 years ago, as of last year, in 1973. '73 was probably one of THE GREAT years of Rock music. Also released that year was "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd, "Selling England by the Pound" by Genesis when it had both Peter Gabriel on vocals and Phil Collins on drums; Stevie Wonder was still on his streak of amazing albums that won Grammy Awards every year; Paul McCartney and Wings were releasing some of their best music; Brian Eno released his brilliant first solo album, which some consider to contain the first modern Punk Rock songs. 1973, what a great year for Rock.
Funeral For a Friend, The Bitch is Back, Saturday Night's All Right, Crocodile Rock, Levon, Daniel, Your Song, Rocket Man, Island Girl, Benny & The Jets, Tiny Dancer, Honky Cat, Someone Saved My Life Tonight, etc.... and on and on!
Great reaction to Elton John! So many songs in his catalog to choose from. Yes, Rocket Man is good (as you mentioned people requested). So is Daniel and Candle in the wind if you want a slower vibe. Benny and the Jets is a great song too. Enjoy your travels through Elton John. Oh, the “recent” movie about his life is good. You’ll find out a lot about his life quickly.
The song was written by Bernie Taupin, who wrote many of Elton's songs, as they were music partners for a long time. The yellow brick road symbolizes the world of fame and social expectations, and Bernie writes that he simply wants to go back to the way things were, back to life in the country on the farm he grew up on in England.
Thanks again Devin. Great review. I still have this album and remember getting it when it first came out, being a good fan of Elton John. Your a good man and have a new fan here, and love the new cut. Bless.
Really admire his great songs,Elton John is one of the legendary singers of all time.Glad to see your reaction, even I love this song as it helps to ease stress and anxiety. Please come up with Sir Elton John's Tiny Dancer,Rocket man,Your song too
I grew up listening to Elton John. Please react to Elton John- Candle in the Wind, I’m still standing, Benny and the Jets, Levon, Tiny Dancer, Crocodile rock, and Philadelphia freedom. Also, he and Tim Rice did the soundtrack for the Lion King.
Since I was 7 years old, I'm 55. An absolute icon in my musical catalog. Amazing artist. Madman Across the Water is one that you need to hear. God I could name 30 songs easily but listen to a few, especially his older ones and you will be sucked in.
You really need to hear Jay and The Americans. Way back in the 60's. Songs: This Magic Moment, Cara Mia, Come A Little Bit Closer... And there are more.
Great reaction. Thats pretty much how I heard the message of this song. He's a phenom of music and has struggled with his life decisions just like the rest of us. Thanks! Loved your response!
Elton John is one of the best. Give a listen to Someone Saved My Life Tonight -- always gives me a case of the feels. His duet with George Michael on this song, live, is just amazing.
Wow, if you haven't listen to his music, you have so many treasures to discover! I grew up with his music and have seen him live 5 times over the years. You need to watch videos of him live to discover his extraordinary piano skills. All of his songs have different vibes! I'm subscribing now 😉.
Elton is legendary. You should watch the Rocket Man movie to get a sense of his history. My understanding is that this track is his first coming out of rehab and getting clean...hence he is leaving the "yellow brick road". He of course has a huge list of tracks but I think my favorite is Rocket Man. Lots of meaning in that song.
Man…I was stunned when you said that you had never heard this before!!! I can remember exactly when this album came out!! This music meant So much to so many back in the day. (Long before he came out and long before I realized he’s part of an agenda I don’t agree with!!) But We played this whole album at my older brothers funeral when he was killed in ‘86…..So it still holds a special place in my heart🙂 Great reaction!!! 🙏🏼🤟🏼💜✌🏼
I was a British serving soldier in W Germany when this album came out. I'd just installed a cassette player radio in my MG and had the car packed ready to set off on an 8 hour trip (including a car ferry across the English Channel) and found this cassette in the garage when I filled the tank. That was the only tape we (my wife was with me) listened to for the whole journey!
Tumbleweed Connection is an amazing album of lesser known EJ/BT songs. They were a dynamic duo Also, watch live performances from his 70s concerts He was quite the performer!! Elton had throat surgery in the 90s and hasn't really been able to hit those high notes since
I believe his number one hit is your song. You should check out the movie, rocketMan, the fantasy biography about Elton John…his life, and his partnership with Bernie Taupin. Bernie would write the lyrics, give them to Elton and he write the music. He wrote your song in 20 minutes.
small trivia, when Arthur's Theme (The Best That You Can Do) came out in the 80s, fans pointed out the similarity in melody ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xWoGS5B9fvA.html
OK OK. New subscriber, love your reactions dood. You look a bit like another reactor and he reacts in a similar way! I've forgotten his name now, but for fun, maybe look out for him! I'd love to see a dual reaction to something with you guys! Other fans, please shore up my idea! :)

A real rocking band is Foghat the song is ( I just wanna make love to you ) long version video. Also April Wine Band from Canada the song is High Roller
I dunno. As a gay teenager coming of age in less than ideal circumstances, I always thought this song was about a young guy trying to get out of an abusive Sugar Daddy relationship.
Should I even comment? I enjoyed your reaction...until you mentioned Jesus Christ. I understand people believe in such things. But I find that I want to find the love of myself, not some 2000 year old deity who claimed they were coming back. I believe they already came back when they removed the stone from the burial chamber, and decided to go back to their farm...in the sky. Hmm. Maybe this song is about Jesus Christ getting away from those who put him on the cross. Getting away from Christians. You might not like it, but I feel that if Jesus did come back, you and your Christian friends and family would have him nailed right back up onto the cross. Perhaps he would rather be back on the farm and not in the penthouses, i.e., churches hanging from that cross you all put him on in the first place. I had no idea this thought was going to enter my mind until I realized that Christ did go back to where he supposedly came from, and that this song really does feel like his celebrity, his deified circumstance that humanity put him through. Christianity is a weight on people's lives. Has been ever since it began. The cult of Christ. I don't think the Jesus in your Bible would have any interest in you giving his name. I might just start thinking about this song as being for Christ trying to get away from the Christians and religious zealots which would be the dogs of society, namely those who won't leave the religion alone and try to convert everyone with his name. What a concept.
